What is your least favorite part of Turkey Day? Food wise or other! lol! I know we discuss favorites a lot. I think my only dislike is Cranberry anything. Otherwise I'd rather have MacNCheese than green bean Cass.

Oh...I LOVE cranberry everything LOL! My peeve is the ones who don't help at all but want to take it all home. Thankfully there's not a lot of that now that we're older and the group is smaller.
(And I know it's the traditional dessert, but I don't like pumpkin pie.)

No matter how many times I try, I can't like sweet potatoes. I have tried them many different ways and I just can't!!

I don't care for turkey. I'll eat it, but I would rather have chicken (or any other meat).

Well since I cook, we don't eat anything I don't like. And now that my parents are gone, I don't have to argue about who my mom wants me to invite. So there really isn't anything I don't like.

Food-wise: cranberry sauce. My cousin's Mac and cheese. Broccoli casserole. Yams with marshmallows (yuck!).
Other: joint custody means every other year without the kids. It's good prep for when they're adults and have to choose between us, their dad and their spouses' families but it still sucks. The in laws. Mil "invites" us to her place up north but has made it clear it's all about her boyfriend and his kids, not her kids. We don't like his kids. DH's grandparents have made their golden son (dh's Uncle) and his family their preferred company. We were invited once but was told we'd have to be ok with the leftovers as they were eating at 1 or something and we couldn't come until later. FIL will drunk dial DH and complain that he's not doing anything with him and his girlfriend. Hard to plan for that when he flakes out all the time and we don't really care for the girlfriend. She's nice but things are so awkward with FIL as it is that adding her to the mix just makes for a very uncomfortable gathering. DH would just rather skip it. So unless we host my family, there's no holiday gatherings.
I really hate the cleaning I need to do. While we keep a neat house, I do slack on chores this time of the year due to time to keep up with inventory for craft shows. My mom really nickpicks stuff and will make comments if she sees dust. (She has no room to talk, her house is messier than mine!)

I'm just not a Thanksgiving lover. I like the sentiment - being Thankful etc but I don't like turkey or stuffing or green bean casserole or cranberry or pumpkin pie. We've never lived near family so it's just been us and so I've always done everything and I don't really like to cook. I HATE football and so at the end of teh day when everyone is stuffed and happy I'm exhaused and cranky!!! Thankfully it's just been me and the cowboy for the past several years and often we get invited out so I'll whip up a salad or dessert to take along. LOL This year we are having a boneless ham (just warm it up) corn casserole and broccoli and some kind of potatoes. Maybe I'll whip up a cake. ha!

I love all the food but I do not like:
The ten trips to the grocery store.
Cleaning beforehand. We have too kids and not alot of space. Our house is "lived" in so there is the decluttering and then searching cabinets and basement for the holiday serving pieces.
The fact that no one else wants to have it their house and no one brings anything.
DH has celiac so everything we prepare is gluten free except for some of the desserts
The unpredictable comments from my parents.
My youngest son's birthday is on Thanksgiving day this year, so between the company and dinner, we will squeeze in a special breakfast for him, and later in the day cake & presents.

Pie-I don't like pie but we are having pumpkin and apple for dessert. I found a recipe for apple caramel bars but that got vetoed for pie.

Just the prep -- getting the house ready for house guests, twenty seven trips to the grocery store, planning three meals a day for five days. Once everyone gets here, it's all good.
I only cook things I like, so the actual meal is the best!

I love green beans. LOVE them. But fresh and without processed food products (not that I'm totally opposed to such things, just not on my green beans!). However everyone but me loves the green bean casserole and they like how I make it. So that's my assignment and I don't even eat it! I used to have a spoonful but I've given up, it's waste of plate space and calories.

Food wise, I am not a fan of many traditional Thanksgiving dishes (cranberries, sweet potatoes/yams, stuffing, green bean casserole, gravy and stuffing).
Generally...really how quickly it's all over...it should take as long to eat as it did to cook! LOL

cooking, clean up, violating the turkey to remove the neck and giblets (gag), stuffing, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole. I do like day overall though and we have so much fun since we stopped making it a huge gathering. I love it just being the 4 of us!

Bummed that a Niece and Nephew aren't coming home from their Colleges, they will be missed at our usual gathering. He has to work. She is coming home two weeks later, for the Christmas break. It's too expensive for two round trip flights. But, thankfully her boyfriends folks are less than an hour from the College and she's been invited there for dinner. Grateful for those, who always have room for one more, at their table.

That my husband says he will help, but only on his timetable; i.e., after he's done all the other stuff he wanted to do first. I started working a while ago. He has worked on his hobby, gone for a run, and had a nap. Says he will help if I'll just wait. Honey, if I wait much longer, Thanksgiving dinner will be on Friday.

There isn’t anything I don’t like. I do all the cooking, so I guess that makes it easier. I include everyone’s favorites though. My one grandson likes Stovetop stuffing, so I make that for him along with my rice stuffing. Two of the grands don’t like much of anything except the rolls, so I make sure there are always plenty of rolls.
I love that we are all together all day.

I dislike green bean casserole, and never eat it.
Other than that, I really do like Thanksgiving food. I do miss the jellied cranberry sauce my grandmother used to make - i prefer it to the whole or crushed cranberry sauce that most people seem to make, but hers was so much better than the canned kind.

Everything except sweet potatoes. We are having pot roast tomorrow and I just made a chocolate cream pie. I truly don't like any of the Thanksgiving foods and resent being prescribed a meal to spend all day cooking.
I like the sentiment of the day and when I was working full time, I loved having a long weekend but that is it. I know this makes me a Thanksgiving grinch.

I cook so I like all the foods, lol.
It's just the four of us so no drama but also it becomes just a big meal and no big deal overall.

DH wants to help by doing it all. But, got to go to bank (at least he drove; he usually walks there. Oh, wait, I've got leaves to dispose of! Wait, I've got to deliver a gift! Next it will be wait, I've got to shower! He did take some time to chop onions and celery. Luckily, there is no timetable for tomorrow, so if we eat at midnight, it will all be good. 😀

Generally...really how quickly it's all over...it should take as long to eat as it did to cook! LOL We are a "linger around the table" family, but it still seems like the whole meal experience goes too quickly for all the many hours of prep work that went into it. I like all the traditional Thanksgiving food so no dislikes there!
