You know how you can hit control p for print etc. Lately its been doing it on its own. As in if I start to type and hit the "p", print screen comes up. "h"history pops up ( I think) and any other letter that is a shortcut with control key pops up without touching control key. What's up with that? Fix? I just usually restart, but is there another way? Or is it just possessed?

Sounds like a sticky keyboard maybe? The control key sticking would cause this to happen.

But if you don't touch it when it happens, how does it happen? Does it just need cleaning? DS sometimes fixes it for me by hitting control key and random others, but doesn't seem to work for me. Do they only cooperate with teen know-it-alls?

I like the idea of it being possessed that way it can't possibly be your (my) fault.

I pop my keys off and clean them and under/around where they 'live'.

You can use a can of compressed air to blow out the keyboard, but if it's sticky, you can try and pop off the key and clean under it. It doesn't work with all keyboards and you may damage your keyboard if you don't pop the key off properly. My suggestion would be to try a different keyboard and see if the same problem exists. If it doesn't, just buy a new keyboard.

Ummm, yes, teens are closer species to them and they recognize that! lol

Sometimes, the right control key on my keyboard sticks. I don't know why. It gets hit inadvertently. I just hit it two or three times and it unsticks. The left one never sticks.

Thanks, I'll keep trying that-works every time for DS- me next to never. I'll keep hoping it will cooperate -or I will beat it into submission!
