Yesterday was biking day for me. It was 94 degrees. I bike on a paved trail. I am shocked at the folks that think it is okay to have those poor dogs out there walking on that pavement. My vet told me if I can not lay my hand on the pavement comformtably then it is to hot for the dogs. Now don't get me wrong I know dogs have to walk but I really do feel sorry for some of them out there panting away and they have no were to go but that hot pavement. Unless take them were there is grass to cool their poor feet.
Now on to the cheer. I was a little later yesterday then normal so there was a whole different set of people on the trail. There is a wooden bridge you have to cross and it is uphill, a gentleman came up behind me and told me he was passing, he asked how I was doing as he flew by and I said it looks like I am a little slow. He slowed down to tell me that my seat was too low, I thanked him and went around the next circle which has a huge hill on it. Well he circled back around and waited for me so he could explain how it should be. I stopped right there and fixed it and what a difference! I am so thankful that he took the time to stop and tell me.
I also had to cheer the mom out there running with a double stroller. Gees she gets triple credit in my book. There must have been a club out there because I know I passed 75-100 runners from teens to older folks. It was great to see so many people who looked like they were having a good time. Cheering each other on and so forth. I was dreading trying to get through them all but they were all so very nice it was a good ride! |

Yay for you! Biking sounds like a lot of fun. I'm an early-morning walker, which is when folks with dogs should be out and about. Sometimes I think people are so clueless when it comes to dogs at craft fairs, on walking trails, aylt farmers' markets and the like, usually at high noon.

Yay for you! Biking sounds like a lot of fun. I'm an early-morning walker, which is when folks with dogs should be out and about. Sometimes I think people are so clueless when it comes to dogs at craft fairs, on walking trails, aylt farmers' markets and the like, usually at high noon. I wish I could do early mornings but I am so not a morning person lol. . I would have to be up about 5 to go before work. I would rather suffer then heat then get up that early. There are only two times I am willing to get up that early. One is when I fly out to see my son and grandbabies and the other is to go fishing ha ha. |

That was pretty nice that not only did the other cyclist tell you what was wrong but that he stopped to explain it to you. Biking can be a lot of fun when your bike fits you properly.

Ali, fortunately I am a morning person, and if I can get up and walk at 5 before getting ready for work, I'll get it done, if not I know I won't have the ambition after work. Also, we have a big shop building across the yard, and I can head over there and walk even if it's pitch black out at 5 am. But I will agree that I am happier with an early awakening if I'm going somewhere fun! |
