About 4 years ago we left a cult that didn't celebrate Christmas, so now I go all out. I say every year I want it to look like santa threw up in here. I shop year round. So far we have 4 full size trees. Two are for the kids. Their homemade ornaments, the pet ornaments, (yes even the pets have ornaments) cartoon character ornaments. One is in the parlor in the middle of the room with gold and red ornaments. The other is in the dining room. That one is my favorite. It's special to my 9 year old daughter. We decorate with pink, silver and blue and it has a princess theme with white lights. We have four mantles and they all are decorated. Some people might think it's excessive but we love it and we want to make it magical for the kids. You deserve it! Enjoy!

I downsized after my divorce. My kids are older and don't help. I really dislike decorating the tree but love the result so Insuffer through. My new DH and I are collecting new ornaments and it's nice.
I hand snowflakes over my table and the open space between the kitchen and living room. I love these! I can keep them up until I'm sick of the snow. I do paper fans on the wall, linens and a few vintage decorations. Not a lot but enough.

Front porch is being decorated today—taking the last of the fall down now and cleaning off to get ready for all the red and white decorations!

Yes! We decorated over the weekend. I put out the stuff we love and that would be missed if we didn't see it. Everything else is still in boxes. My plan is to get rid of all the stuff still out there before the holiday is over.

I did a Christmas purge when we moved 6 years ago. I'm not an over the top holiday decorator and do like to change things up from year to year. Currently I really need to go thru my Christmas stash and do a little purging and a little reorganizing of my storage totes.

Every year I get rid of at least a big tub of stuff. At its peak, I had 36 big tubs of Christmas decorations. It is now about 25 tubs. I have added a few Christmas pillows this year, but I will get rid of some old ones. We also have four trees, so that is a bit excessive, but, they are all different and two of them are 4 foot trees that go on either side of or hutch. One has all glass ornaments. It is gorgeous. Wow that’s a LOT of ornaments! I had an aunt who spent a month putting up her decorations. I worked in a Christmas store one summer and found so many beautiful things. Prior to that, I didn't really care too much about the decorations.

I downsized this summer when I reorganized the garage. But, I'm sure I could do a second round and still have far too many decorations.

We had to run out and get a new strand of C7 —I didn’t nice it last year but the lawn service must have weed whacked the strand closes to the ground! Lol
We found more red C7 bulbs to so we stocked up again on them.
Front porch is almost done, just need to hang all the signs and put the jars of red and white balls and candy canes out!

I got all of my stuff out and sorted out the ornaments and decor that was truly my jam, and the rest I boxed up and sent to my niece who is getting married next week. I knew I had some things I didn't want, and when I asked if she would like any of it, she squealed that she would take any and all as she had virtually nothing. Win win. I need someone like this in my life I posted on Facebook and a friend that works for the foster care system offered to come pick up everything that I don't want. she's going to use it to decorate the visitation rooms for the holidays. It's making it so much easier to let go when u know how much joy it'll bring those kids.

We just bought a new house and this will be the first year we get to do 2 trees. The one in the family/playroom is going to have all the kid ornaments on it and what not. The one in the formal living room will have all my blue, white, and silver stuff on it. Once I get them all set up I will have a better idea of what i can get rid of. I know I have way more ornaments than I need, but I want to get it all set up before I start purging.

A little , Dh was itchin to get the tree up. Thank goodness it's pre lite. We put our village up but I don't put the people up right away. If I do it under the tree the dog likes to take off with the village trees! lol That's about it besides a few vinyl projects I've done and a few holly garlands.
