Trying to Christmas shop for SO... I really don't want to spend $200 on bits and blades. He's so boring lol. What are you getting your DH or SO?

Mine wants: ebooks, games to download and downloadable music, I have resorted to wrapping up random objects with a note on it that his real present is available online, just so he has something under the tree. He also wants drill bits, every year. He must have 300000 of them already...

Well I have a son to shop for and he is getting sheets and a Lululemon gift card. I suggested new sheets and OMG his eyes lit up like "why didn't I think of that???" and he was so happy with the idea. I was ok, dude, sheets it is! Now I will get him the nicest sheets I can get, but he really liked that idea! Go figure.
My dad I got him two dress shirts and he will pick one of them OR I will make him keep both. He has this one shirt I hate and I want it to get donated already. He has 2 new beautiful ones from Spain and then the two I got him on the weekend. They are really cool!

Mine got a rather large (in price) gift for his birthday in Sept so he isn't getting anything other than a few small items for fishing. (No worries - he knows since his birthday gift was extravagant that its serving for his Christmas too!).

Mine is so hard to buy for, he never ask for anything. So this year I got him a bunch of personalized items from Etsy. I got him a hammer, wallet, pen and lighter.

I search Amazon and Etsy for the two things he is really into... Alabama Crimson Tide Football and Cammo colored items. He is a very frugal practical guy so he also likes socks, undies etc. I get him a combo of things going that route. I hope they never run out of things in those categories

I bought DH 2 puzzles from the National Park Service website www.eparks.comThey are cool and support the National Parks. I also bought him a Callahan Auto Parts t-shirt - a reference from the movie Tommy Boy. We saw someone with one and thought it was funny.

We are only doing stockings this year. So far I’ve gotten him a speckled blue and white enamel cocktail shaker to match our camping dishes, a solar powered phone charger, a pair of funny socks with rocket ships on them, a grill scraper and one of those disgusting chocolate oranges he loves so much.

Mine doesn't have a wish list. His hobby is cross stitching BUT he doesn't do patterns. He makes his own from video game characters. He did like a design I showed him so I might buy the pattern and necessary colors. I'm also dying some fabric for him.
He likes it when I buy him new socks and ties. I'd buy him a bottle of beer he won't buy a full pack of but his tastes have changed and I can't keep track anymore. I might just buy some mead instead.

Men are hard to shop for because every time you ask what they want, they grunt 'nothing' so you get them socks (because why would I bother if you want nothing?) and THAT'S WHEN THEY GIVE YOU THE BLOODY LIST YOU ASKED FOR WEEKS AGO!!! P.S. No disrespect to dknitter's husband who actually appears to appreciate the socks!!!

My husband is easy to shop for, I am the picky one! I get him anything Pitt (I refuse to buy Pgh. pro sports for him , stuff for his train, stamp stuff, any tool, train or car magazines, anything garden related. I could easily spend a lot of money on him. It's our teen daughters that we have trouble buying for. So we give lots of gift cards.

Mine just had me order a 49” smart tv for the family room from Costco when he was about ready to throw the remote through the screen of our almost 9 year old Sony last week. It was a pretty awesome deal right around Thanksgiving. He said that was all he needed for Christmas. St. Nicholas will be giving him a big pack of new socks and some trail mix on Dec. 6th. Santa will bring him Despicable Me 3 on Blu-ray, some cinnamon roasted pecans, and a LEGO Dimensions game pack and a character fun pack to play with DD. I bought him (really for me but will go on our bed) a set of flannel sheets and a Kohl’s throw with dogs on it for his chair from me. I wish I could think of something better to get him than that stuff but he mostly buys himself the stuff he otherwise needs or wants. We also just spent $450 at the vet on a diagnosis for our 11 year old dog, and we’re probably going to spend another $500-700 more to have a tumor removed so we’re trying not to spend a bunch of money on stuff we don’t really need right now. So the new TV and saving the dog’s life are our big family gifts this year.

DH and a friend were talking about what a difference it made to use a walking stick when hiking. Then went on to say he and the friend he usually hikes with were using old ski poles as walking sticks. If you see two dudes hiking the SoCal trails with ski poles, say hi to my DH. 🤣
Anywho, as we listened DD and I sent each other texts that read "dad walking stick Christmas". I know we will surprise him and get him something he will use and hopefully love.
Other than that, he is getting a watch with a wooden strap, jerky, hot sauces and ear buds.

I felt guilty at first about combining DH's gift (since I hate that happening to me) but he really is ok with it, so I am going to go ahead and combine. SaveSave

i don't know. but that's probably why i'm such a horrible gift giver for DH. i admit it. even he says i am great to everyone else but kinda fall short when it comes to him. OTOH he is a fantastic gift giver. i swear he is clueless about a million daily things but when it comes to getting me gifts, he is awesome. that makes my gift giving to him look even worse.

Mine wanted the Apple Watch. He found the one he liked and ordered it on my credit card. Love it when it is that easy. I have purchased a few smaller things he will probably like, but he generally wants to order the big gift on his own.

SaveSaveBoth DH and I have birthdays around the holidays. He’s never minded much because his comes before the holidays so he has the money to buy himself something great. Mine falls right about the time when the credit card come due after Christmas shopping so I typically would get chumped. Not very fun at all. Now I try to pick stuff up for Christmas year round when I see things so there isn’t such a big financial hit all at once.

So it works out however I want it too, which is great! My husband just had a birthday, so he often wants one big gift instead also.

My dh has a bday just days before Xmas so double the joy shopping-not! So far i picked up a heated throw (he’s always cold in the winter but insists on wearing shorts), dna test kit, gift card for a “drive your dream car” experience. I’ll probably get him a couple good shirts. I also picked up a couple gadgets at Costco-a breathalyzer and a magnetic mount for his phone in the car.

Books and music CDs.
My son likes the same thing--books and/or CDs.
Makes it not exciting to shop--but they get what they want.

He gets novelty or a pair dress socks that match the tie or shirt I bought him as well. He wears those dress socks every day for work and likes the variety. I have a pair of socks with dinos wearing Santa hats for him and pi socks to match the pi tie (3.14 pi).

We just ordered a new couch, so that is one of our Christmas presents I guess!! I'm going to get him some new pajamas, and new socks, and I had bought some new sheets for our bed, but when my daughter was here recently, she really loved the ones we had in the guest room, (my scrapbook room), so I gave those to her for an early Christmas present. So, I'll get another set of sheets, and I'm going to get him a new soft throw for the new couch. (one for the dog too!). I'm also getting him some music books for the piano. He ordered some recently and really like them, so I'll add to the collection. I have to renew his train magazine subscription. I used to always get something for his train layout, but he's got so much now, he's thinking of downsizing. I will probably make him his favorite cookies also--and we don't do candy very often, so I might get him a box of candy.
