This all makes me think back on early summer of 2016 before the GOP Convention when one of the GOP talking heads said that a Trump nomination would be bad for the party, but they would recover. What she and her colleagues feared was Trump presidency because they thought it might destroy the party.
She was prescient.

Yep and WH is going with he acted alone! The same way they got Capone for taxes not for killing... they will get some for lying to the FEDS if not a whole lot more.... But they will be guilty and do time!! And we know Sessions is on that list too.

He honestly believes himself to be very intelligent, when in fact, he speaks and behaves as though he has less intelligence than most high school grads.
Meanwhile he walks further into the mire.
"f Trump knew that Flynn was in the FBI's crosshairs when he asked former FBI Director James Comey, whom he later fired, to consider "letting Flynn go" the day after Flynn resigned, that could dramatically bolster the obstruction case federal prosecutors are building against him.
"I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go," Trump told Comey on February 14, according to Comey's testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee in June. "He is a good guy. I hope you can let this go."
Comey gave no indication that he would consider Trump's request. Three months later, Trump abruptly fired Comey, wo was leading the FBI's Russia investigation at the time. "

Truly. My prediction: after Trump himself is indicted, a team of doctors and psychologists will be brought in to evaluate him, and will find him unfit to stand trial. He will be found to be suffering from some form of dementia, and will be removed from the presidency via the 25th rather than impeached and convicted. And all charges brought against him will be dropped, and he'll be allowed to dodder and founder away in his gold apartment, periodically ranting on Twitter about how the whole thing was a setup by Hillary, Obama and the fake news. Republicans in Congress will move increasingly further to the right, as they jostle to win votes from the dark underbelly of Trump's former base.

I literally was just thinking about this exact same scenario. I also think this is what will happen. It'll feel better if those in cahoots with him can go down, though. Edited to add: I'm not entirely convinced that he has dementia. I certainly recognize the possibility. If he does have it to some degree, I'm not convinced that all of his actions can be explained away by it. Yet that is what his people will claim and it will ultimately be his get-out-of-jail free card, no matter the veracity of the claim.

I agree, I've said since the election his presidency was going to be ended on some medical pretense, real or contrived.

Please let them have Pence on tape. Either he knew, or he was REALLY stupid. Either way, he is not fit to be president. I don’t know why, but on some days, I hate Pence more than I hate Trump. (And yes...I really mean hate).

I don’t know about dementia. Trump has been this way for as long as I remember. Even before the Apprentice.
I do believe is is a narcissistic sociopath which explains everything he tweets or says or does. I think he may HIDE behind dementia! But I really think it's just him. He had a miserable piece of shit for a father and I believe he has been mentally ill for a long time. Probably since childhood.

There is one, and only one thing, that will stop this country's slide into the abyss and that is that the American people wake up and vote in a magnitude that is historically unprecedented. I hate to be a Negative Nelly but I have no faith that will happen. I hope that I am wrong.

I posted this over on the Trump thread but it works here too: Bush ethics lawyer: Trump lawyer should be disbarred if he wrote Flynn firing tweetBY JACQUELINE THOMSEN - 12/03/17 04:43 PM EST The top ethics lawyer in President George W. Bush’s administration said that President Trump’s lawyer should be disbarred if he wrote Trump’s tweet suggesting the president knew Michael Flynn had lied to the FBI. “A lawyer who writes a Tweet like that incriminating a client should be disbarred. He can tell Mueller he wrote it,” Richard Painter tweetedTrump’s personal lawyer John Dowd has said that he wrote a tweet Trump sent Saturday. The tweet claimed Trump knew before he fired his former national security adviser that Flynn lied to FBI agents about his contacts with Trump officials."I had to fire General Flynn because he lied to the Vice President and the FBI. He has pled guilty to those lies," Trump tweeted on Saturday. Dowd said that he had written the tweet and that it was “my mistake.” “I’m out of the tweeting business. I did not mean to break news,” Dowd told Axios. Trump's tweet came one day after Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to FBI agents about his contacts with Russian officials. thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/363036-bush-ethics-lawyer-trump-lawyer-should-be-disbarred-if-he-wroteThey are all incompetent!! So h could face charges too!??!
