Congratulations on the new addition to your family, jenjie! Black lab pups can be amazing friends for life. BTDT. I would have prescribed a cat, but a dog will do, I guess! =). So much adorableness! I can't wait to hear how it goes when you tell your kids on Christmas! I do love cats, but when you talk them, they usually wear their, "Bitch, please!" face. Dogs are a bit more like husbands and at least pretend to listen. How wonderful that leftturnonly prescribed a dog. She is so right! Congratulations soon to be K9 grandma! And hmmm. When Lefty came to my house a couple of years ago, I think she said my husband needed a second wife. Maybe even three or four. <If you've been part of the board for a long time, you may know the joke already. If not, don't sweat it. Mr. BurningFeather is absolutely devoted to Mrs. BurningFeather! > I should bookmark this thread.... I've been resisting elaine influencing me to get an InstaPot... now I've got to tune out leftturnonly enabling puppies. <fingers in ears> La la la la la... PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT.... public service announcement.... *** To be fair here, I told Jen that if they weren't ready to take on another dog yet that her daughter would probably love volunteering to work with dogs somewhere outside of the house. Bringing a pet into a home is a serious decision that needs to be soberly made by the people who will be taking care of it. *** That said... Looks like you've already begun to bond with the wee one, Jen. May you have many, many, many happy years together and may your daughter unburden herself to this little bundle with all that weighs her down. Amen.

I've been resisting elaine influencing me to get an InstaPot... now I've got to tune out leftturnonly enabling puppies. <fingers in ears> La la la la la... Resistance is Futile! You may as well figure which you are going to get first... Dear God, I do love Elaine so very much. You should wrap up some puppy gifts(dog bowl, leash, dog toy, dog food, etc...), for the kids and have them unwrap at the same time, and see if they figure it out. What a nice surprise for them. BRILLIANT IDEA!!!

Also the breeder sent me a link to her puppy cam. That will be fun. Shut up! <I'd have that thing on 24/7 and there'd be nothing left to tell on Christmas morning!> Ummmm, thank goodness Lefty lives a whole hemisphere away! That woman is never setting foot in my house - I don't want another dog OR a sister wife! You sure? You could be missing out here. You know... As soon as I scheduled the appointment to look at the puppies, I resigned myself to coming home with a puppy. I knew it would be hopeless once I saw them. We actually discussed dogs and names a month or two ago. The kids were driving that train! Yep. As you can clearly see. Jen is getting a puppy for her kids. Yep. That's her story.

They are way better than those TJ's Kringles goo... I took one bite and threw that mess away. And the peas made me buy one of those, too.

leftturnonly truly did suggest dd volunteer. She actually wanted to do that with a friend. But the stars aligned and the time is now.
