Assuming you could scrap 8 hours a day (uninterrupted), how long do you think it would take you to get "caught up"?
I have about 94 events or things I'd like to scrap. I'm going to assume half of those would be two pagers (or more), so 141 pages. On average, it takes me about 2 hours to complete a page. 141 * 2 = 282/8 = 35.25.
If I worked 8 hours a day to scrap (that's assuming I had endless motivation and ideas), it would take me 35.25 days to get caught up. A girl can dream, can't she?
Although, I don't care that I'm not 'caught up', just an interesting idea that popped into my head this morning during my shower.

I have 3 vacations I need to scrap. I'd estimate it would take me 1 full day to do each vacation, so I'd only need 3 days to get caught up. I'm in a bit of a break right now cause I have to get my pictures printed before I can scrap anymore! I hate getting my pictures printed and picking them up, I never seem to have the time or thinking of what sizes I need just gets me stressed out.

I think about this a lot. If I'd just get my butt in my scraproom I'd probably be caught up in a few weeks. I don't care as much about the family albums as I do about the school albums. I'm really getting behind in those and it's not good.

I can't even begin to imagine how long it would take me to get caught up. I have pictures in every nook and cranny of my house. Although I probably have enough supplies to scrap the rest of my life!

I don't think I can ever catch up! I scrapbook too slow, and I take way too many pictures!

Never. And it would stress me out to even try.
It has never been important to me to catch up. But I have a good friend that thrives on catching up. It gives her motivation the scrap. I admire her drive, but I never want to be in a place where I have nothing left to scrap.

50 years? Why would I want to be "caught up" and not have any more photos to scrap? That would feel empty and boring. Considering that I started taking photos in 1989 of my son when he was born, and now have 40 shoe boxes filled with 4x6 prints (and those are mostly just from my film days), not to mention all of the digital photos on my computer, well let's just say 50 years is a good estimate. Obviously I'm not going to scrap every one of those photos-that would be crazy! Let's just say I'll be 99 years old sitting in my scraproom, scrapping away and having a ball doing it by the time I get caught up. Debbie in MD.

I started so far behind that I probably never will be able to get caught up. Spending 8 hours a day scrapping isn't an option and probably never will be.
I didn't start scrapping till I had been married 20 years and had five kids. Once I started scrapping, I started taking more pictures. Then I went digital and improved my photography skills. Now I have 9 grandkids, too, so the pictures keep multiplying like rabbits.
I try not to think about the idea of getting caught up. It's just not likely to happen in my lifetime. I scrap what I can, and I'm not going to worry about the pictures that don't get scrapped.

I have decades of photos from before I started scrapping in 1998, when my youngest was barely 2. My other ds's were 16 & 13. I have all my childhood photos & my DH's photos. Plus older family photos. Will I ever be caught up? Probably not. Full time work and family commitments mean I will never have enough free time and retirement is far away. Do I stress? No. I scrap what I want when I want. My story may even never be complete. But I am ok with that.
Now how many days would that be? 365 +++++. Now if I could scrap & craft 8 hours a day, that would be my dream job. A girl can dream right?

I'm not sure I could even do the math. About 11 years worth of photos. I can get 4, maybe 5 layouts done in 8 hours. Boggles my mind . . . I used to like you, Scrappea, lol.

8hours a day 5 days a week it would probably take me over 2 years. I average 200 pages a year. Some layouts take me 2 hours, some 2 days!! I just started working on 2011. That would only catch me up from 2003 when my first child was born. I would like to do some pages of DH and I before kids and hopefully some childhood stuff.

Can I say "infinity" So many pictures, not enough time. But I don't stress about it! I have a 4 day weekend in November, hope to get a lot done.

forever. but I don't care if I "catch up". I do what I like and interests me at the time, not chronological either. Whatever suits my fancy. And if I caught up, I'd miss the times when I look back at older photos and find one that I really love, has a story to tell and I did not notice/appreciate the first time around. Those can be fun. Makes you wonder why/how you put it aside in the first place. Tastes/perspectives change. A lost treasure!

Interesting question - because I actually want to split some years of albums I've done to make an album for each of my sons, and that means redoing about half the layouts making one for each instead of combined layouts. So, if I ever got all my pics scrapped, I would start on that.
So I think if I scrapped everyday all day for I guess an entire year, I could be caught up. Maybe sooner, if I didn't run out of steam.

It's a good thing I don't really care too much about being or getting caught up or it would really stress me out. I have a few important bigger things I really want to get to, otherwise I just do what I can do and I don't worry about it.

We still have all of the photos we will take between now and 117- we will have to scrap those pics too. We'll probably be sleeping alot by then too, so 8 hrs a day is probably out of the question.

I used to do chronological when I first started. Then the baby came and 7 yrs later I still only have 4 layouts of the first year. Project life came in and I do a lot of crafting (paper flowers, invitations, somehow get wrangled into doing stuff for family members who don't have a creative bone) so then I get burned out of doing layouts.

I will always have more stories to tell...I don't see myself as being able to catch up!
I do worry about when the kids are gone, even when I have grandchildren...the stories won't be the same because they won't be as personal. I'll be scrapping kids I love, but they aren't "my" stories as much.

Not in this lifetime! But I can try! I think I would feel caught up if I was working on pictures from just the last couple years. I was doing pretty well, but stalled out when working on my son's wedding album (it was for me) and it took me forever! Mainly because about 3/4 of the way through, I was tired of working on it, but wouldn't let myself start anything new cause if I did, that would never get finished.

Well, this is a fun and terrifying question! LOL Since I gave up chronological scrapping, I have made every effort not to even think about the concept of "caught up." And I still think that's the best approach for me. However, I couldn't help myself but to try and calculate this one out! Now, I am not at home with my photos, and lord knows there are so many it would take me as long to count them as it would to get caught up! But if I estimate the [HASH] of layouts for vacations, holidays & milestones, plus monthly layouts for the kids, and I realistically think I could average 3 layouts per 8 hours (some go less than 2 hours, some brutally longer, so on average)... I'm looking at 230 days. That's actually not as bad as I thought. I figured I would be in the 50 year camp. Of course, I'm sure I'm forgetting some huge chunks of photos that could potentially double that figure, but that still puts me at under 2 years. I'm actually pretty pleased with that!
