Omgoodness, AussieMeg I love the idea of a coffee flavored cake. Could you please share a recipe? The link is in my original post.

Ds' last day home before returning to school. We never celebrated my mom's December bday because first DS wasn't home, then we had snowmageddon, then Christmas and so forth. So we went to a local Italian restaurant for dinner. It was delicious and I have leftover fettucine alfredo with tenderloin tips for tomorrow. If only I could figure out how to reheat it without it separating...

jeremysgirl , I really hope that your dd gets that bed tonight. How are you doing? cadoodlebug and KelleeM , good for both of you. Kick some beheeney w/those steps cadoodlebug . AussieMeg , I want to dive into that coffee cake. I'm still a mess. My doc ran some labs and based upon those I might have to spend a bit more time at Club Med. I haven't heard anything, so I'm hoping that's a good sign. Meanwhile, there is good news, because I'm tube feeding w/o pain. Woohoo! It's only one small can, but a small can is better than no can. Tmw I might titrate up to 2 cans. Woohoo. Dinner was cream chicken penne (for them not me). I have no idea how I mustered the energy.

scrapmaven that just sucks. I am sorry. All my hugs. In fact I just think we all need a group hug...lol... DD didn't get into that facility. They said they weren't equipped to deal with eating disorders. She is waitlisted at 6 different facilities in Michigan that do deal with eating disorders. The staff at our hospital is working really hard to get her placed. They asked me if I would consider a facility in Illinois. I told them I would as my aunt and uncle live about 45 minutes from there. They are happy to help in any way possible. My DD said today she is amazed at how much better she feels after a few days of eating like normal, getting rest, and taking a break from her hectic life. I have very much enjoyed my time with her yesterday an today.

We stopped at a sushi place and bought 3 different vegetarian rolls. We stopped at Fred Meyers and bought some more rolls. And Inari.
At home I made stir fry veggies, garlic shrimp and pan fried noodles.
I also sliced up some Chinese barbecue pork.
It was a feast!

She is going to learn to take good care of herself. She'll learn so much. I feel for your dd having to sleep in a gurney. If possible can you see about getting her a bed until she's transferred? ER gurneys are hard on the back. You're a great mama and working hard to advocate for your dd in crisis. I'm not sure how STD and LTD work. I would contact your HR rep and let them guide you to the best move in this instance. If you disagree w/their advice or don't feel that they have your best interests in mind then you might want to contact an attorney who specializes in disabitlity and see if you have any recourse. For now, that seems daunting, because right now your dd and you are working as a team to handle this and the red tape is just additional stress. Again, let's lobby for more group hugs.

Anecdote. There is a lottery store in the same plaza as my eye Dr and last year when I got my glasses ( my OMG they cost what $825 with a discount glasses ) DD went down to get me a lotto ticket while I waited for new glasses to be fitted. When DD came back & gave me the ticket the lady asked me what I would do if I won. And I said I’d buy myself different outrageous glasses for every day of the week. And I’m going to visit and hug a lot of peaple. I have ‘friends’ everywhere and I’m just going to go visit them. The lady thought it was nice. DD thought I was nuts. I’m in for that group hug. scrapmaven jeremysgirl and all my tribe.

I didn’t tell you what I made and honest to god the food in the US tastes better than ours does. I bought this ravioli lasagne from Costco and don’t ask me why they call it that because it doesn’t look that way but it was heavenly! Costco lasagne at home tastes nothing like this and every bite was a bit of heaven in your mouth. The ravioli had ricotta cheese in it but the meat sauce was phenomenal.
My dad had poke and I was really glad not to eat that!
Sending love to all our Dinner Thread Peas. Sometimes I am not sure what to say so I say a silent prayer for you (plural).
Much love!
