I really enjoyed the first two episodes of the Hey Crafty Gals podcast, but I watched it on YouTube. I'll check out the Crafty Ass Females this weekend.

The overuse of like, legit, and you know grates on my nerves on that podcast. And it sounds like I can hear every sound that one of the women's mouths makes. It's a little gross. I'm trying to give them a chance by listening to at least 5 podcasts, but it's difficult to get through them. I have to give the Hey Crafty Babes one a try. Yes retrohipmama’s microphone picks up all of the lip smacking and everytime she opens her mouth you can hear the wetness (sorry so gross I just don’t know how else to describe it). The other girls microphone is not as clear but at least you don’t hear any those mouth sounds.

Intense! Thank you. I have been trying to understand what about CAF was bothering me and making me unable to listen. It boarders on scrapbook self-help and not in a good way. I really wanted to like it. I have not listened to Andrea's yet but I'm looking forward to it.
Side note, I actually miss the two YouTube friends who had a podcast for a while. They rambled and often forgot names of products or called things the wrong name (Blue Gossamer, LOL) but they were fun.
Who would you like a podcast from? I love Amy Gretchen's voice and her clear and concise YouTube videos. I bet she'd podcast well.

I've listened to three of the CAF podcasts. The name doesn't bug me, they are just trying to be "cool," and it was interesting to hear the stories of how the hosts arrived at this point in their lives. The non-stop use of the word like - by both of them - will be what makes me quit listening. I am hoping that given some more podcast experience, they will become a bit more professional.
I listen when I am walking, may try Retrohip Mama's Crafty Babes show today.

I gave the HCB one a listen yesterday and didn't hate it. I'm hoping once they get a few more episodes in they'll find their groove. This one definitely has the potential to be a good alternative.
I haven't listened to the CAF one yet and from the comments posted above I'm not sure I want to.

I've listened to (actually listen/watched) HCB #1. I enjoyed them. I can't put my finger on it what exactly I liked, but I think this will replace PRT for me.
I tried CAF and I want to continue. I had to stop their introduction ones. I moved onto the episodes, but still didn't get through a full one. I had a really hard time discerning which one was talking. They sounded so alike to me. Granted my old ears continue to get harder at hearing the older I get, so maybe that's it. I will try to give them some more time.

I had a hard time listening to the whole podcast of CAF. I think if they made them shorter they would be better. I'm not in love with them, but will give them a chance to see if they get in a better rhythm. I heard an interesting conversation on a podcast about what makes a good podcast and they said "studies" showed that they should be around 30 minutes because that was the average commute time.

I agree. I think they're "rough" right now w/being so new at this and I hope that they will shorten it up, lose some verbal ticks and become better over time. Still worth a listen for me on my commutes - especially since they have an underlying vibe that appeals to me.

I haven’t listened to them, but I don’t think some people realize how often they say things until someone points it out or they hear themselves back.
I’m a huge grammar person, so I was shocked when someone years ago pointed out that I say “he goes” or “he’s like” instead of “he said”. I started paying attention to it so I could change it. I’ve done pretty well, but still several years later of my consciously making the change I still catch myself saying it wrong.
Maybe they don’t realize the prevalence of the word “like” and reading feedback may help them.

Someone commented about it on one of their social media accounts and the response was “lol. That’s how I’ve spoken for 30 years now, I can’t say I’m going to start changing now.” 🤷♀️

One of the women joked on one of the episodes that people should start a drinking game for every time she’s says “like”...so she’s fully aware of it.

Listening to the Hey Crafty Babes podcast with my headphones for the first time - I usually watch it on Youtube. I definitely wont be able to listen to it again through headphones - I find Retrohipmama's need to constantly respond to the other person with 'okay' 'okay' 'true' 'true' really irritating. It adds nothing to the conversation.
So yeah, enjoying the podcast but the latest episode through headphones - annoying.

That’s the same reason I can’t listen Pocket Talk with Jess Forsters (not sure I spelled that right.) she is replies with “MmHmmm” in response to what her guests say and listening to that constantly is too much. She also interrupts her guest, which I find super rude.

I told my DD today that I'm going to put a rubber band on my wrist and snap it every time I hear myself say it. I need to break that habit.

She sounds so nice, but OMG!!! she has to take it down a few notches w/that interjection if I'm going to listen to her again.

I swear listening to anybody on headphones can either make you love them or want to claw their eyes out, lol. The majority of things I watch on YouTube or listen too is with my headphones. I am so laid back IRL. So, it is hard to annoy me. When I have my headphones on every little nuance I can hear. Funny, I can watch the video later without my headphones and they don't seem that annoying.
