My mom asked for physical directions on how to get to the app store. She wanted to know if it was local or required some travel and she was going to check mapquest. This was my mom, except she wanted to go to the Amazon store and buy a gift card....it was an interesting conversation: Mom: whereโs the Amazon store? Me: oh, just go to www.amazon.commom: no, the real store....where is it...is there one around here? me: no, thereโs no Amazon store......๐

When my dad first came to live with me when he was 84, I managed many different accounts and business stuff online for him. After a while he began to think you could do anything and everything online. One day he wanted some information about his friendโs bank account, so he told to get on my com-pute and get the information. I looked at him like he was nuts, then I realized he thought I could type in anyoneโs name and have access to ALL their information. The world was whizzing by him at lighting speed.

My Mum handed my sister a stack of paperbacks and asked her to put them on her Kindle for her. Bless her. This is my dream. We have so many "dead tree" books that I am having a very hard time letting go of. If I could just give them to someone and get the electronic version of all of them I would be thrilled!

My brother and I also taught her the abbreviations, like what LOL and WTF meant so that she didn't make mistakes. That's the story that sprang to my mind when I read your post - a family friend who signs off all her emails with LOL because she still thinks it means lots of love Yup, my 82 year old mother did this exact one as well.

Loving these stories. My MIL at 85 is totally 'with it' when it comes to her phone and computer. We have family WhatsApp group so she can see regular pictures and updates on her great grandson, she texts too and I really hope I'm that good when I'm that age!

My gran died four years ago, but I have great memories of her using her kindle, and then a tablet to Skype family abroad. We had to set it up for her but she did great. ๐

We had to set it up for her but she did great. ๐ That reminds me of when we lived abroad and we set up Skype on my brother's computer so that we could Skype with Mum. His computer wasn't very stable, and once I got a panicking text from Mum saying "I don't know what I did but I've killed the computer. It said fatal error. What am I going to tell your brother?" This is so awesome, and hilarious!! If my Mom were still with us, she would have said something similar, I'm sure. I can just hear it! lol

My mum regularly makes me chuckle with the things she says and does. My all time favourite is when she told me she'd got 'soaked through' having a shower She once asked me if she could have beans on toast for tea but did she have to have the beans! I'd been out the other day and when I got back she said that someone had been ringing and ringing but she couldn't answer the phone, I asked her to show me which button she'd been pressing to answer it. It was the remote control
