Annabella, right below these posts it says they are hosted for free. There is a admin. Thanks I was wondering because when the admin gets bored, busy with life, or tired of the board it disappears so I was just wondering how permanent this place potentially could be.

I agree with the person who said those of us that lurk more then post need to do better about actually posting to help keep the board moving.

I'm hopeful that it will. One good thing that has come out of this is that many of the lurkers (like myself) have been more active. I can't speak for them, but I feel like losing the pod has made me realize just how much a part of my daily life all of the people on this board are. I mean, it sounds silly, but NSBR was where I went to keep my finger on the pulse of current events. And yes, there were trolls and nastiness, but there was also a diverse group of people who brought different points of view to everything from current world events to diva cups...it was refreshing to get out of my "own little world" and see some different perspectives. I'm hoping that many of the previous lurkers will jump in and be more active...I plan to. This exactly! I learned something new each time I logged on to 2peas!

I think it is mostly going to be committed and old time peas here. If you had just signed up 6 months ago, you wouldn't feel the need to transfer your love to another board with another login name, etc.
I just added my sig. and can't believe the number of posts I had when I would say I mostly lurked.

I think the dramatic peas belong here as much as us normal. You have to have Yin with Yang. And besides, if we don't have the mutters here, who will start the train wrecks? I agree with this. I hope everything transfers here not just the rainbows and lollipops. I just hope that there's more of a balance between the rainbows/lollipops and the nastiness - it was a bit hard to take sometimes because it was either one way or the other. I can be nasty at times, no lie, but not all the time and I really question those who've got sunshine and rainbows bursting out of their asses all day long.

I hope it stays around, I paid $3 for the mobile app! Seriously, I almost cried when I got the notice yesterday. NSBR board was a very special place for me even though I didn't post much, I read it everyday, most times multiple times a day. I can't tell you how many times I would start out telling my husband "today on the message board ..." You and I must be twins. This is exactly how I felt and I do the same thing with my DH.

I really, really hope it does! I was SO sad when I saw that the 2Ps forums were locked, so I was overjoyed when I heard about this place! The one thing I noticed is that I probably won't have as many posts here as I did at 2Ps just because there's a like button, so no need to post all the "me too"s and "I agree"s. It'll be interesting to see whether that changes the feel of threads here.

I don't know what I'd do if this place doesn't survive. Jeez, I'd have to clean my house, scrapbook, or exercise. I can't allow that!

I hope it lasts! I was definitely LESS active than I had been in the beginning of my eight years there. Mostly when the meanies came out in full force and started posting personal information on 2Peas. So it was eyeopening as to how much I probably shared in the beginning. So, while I'll be more reserved and probably lurk more than post, because I've built up walls, I'll be here every day...

Oh, I also enjoy the nasty/crazy posts too. I try not to get sucked in, just read and laugh at those. I'm sure most of them aren't as extreme in real life.

There ARE so many good people, but there is yet still that element who can't help but spray their territorial pissings all over the board, because they have no power in their world, and imagine that they do here.
The same element that caused the original NSBR board population to drop so dramatically over the past year...this will even more quickly head down the same path, unfortunately.

Even tho I was mostly a lurker (every day, several times a day) I was lost til I found you all again! I will definitely try to be more active to keep this forum going. I might even join in on the controversial topics although I was too skeered to do so at 2Peas!

There will be something called an Election or a fight or something happen and all hell will break loose. People will take sides and the place will go back to normal in a couple of days. We are just in the honeymoon phase right now that is all.

Yea, I'm a little worried about their not being an introduction of new posters, like the opportunity over at 2Ps. I wonder how many new Ps we had ea month though? I will try to bring (according to some) my stupid ass comments, and controversial bagged lettuce threads to keep this board going...

I'm not worried...I think it will last. Especially if the former lurkers are more active on this board.

I think we are on our honeymoon right now, but eventually we will start scratching our butts and picking our noses. I have been adversarial in the past on GS and NSBR, and I expect I will continue to post my opinion even if it is harsh or controversial. I enjoy good verbal sparring. Keeps things lively.

I love your characterization in the first sentence! However, I think it's up to the rest of us to see that said pissers aren't afforded that opportunity here. More folks need to speak up against wrong-doing, bad-mouthing or attempted intimidation.

Part of me kept looking at this thread and thinking just how typical Peas it is that, before it was even a couple of days old, people questioned the longevity of this forum Then, I considered the question a little more. Yes, it will depend partly on whether people continue to post or whether we manage to implode or become irregular in posting. That is on us. More than that, though - I am a member of a couple of forums I found because I like photography. They don't have shops attached, but they DO have a core interest/theme. There are people far better to explain what I would try to say if I were any kind of expert, but I think that some behind the scenes looking at how to maintain the forum for searches etc would probably help - it kind of hinges on whether this is a replacement place to hang out or one that the people running it want to grow and continue, if you see what I mean?

I hope that it last. To much free time to houseclean, cook, scrapbook, etc. can't be healthy for anyone.

Yeah I have to go work in the yard today and I will bring my phone out with me so i can check what's going on in here instead of deadheading rhodos. I hate yardwork. I hate yards. The house DSO and I are looking at has no yard. I mean nothing. (We are also getting computers in most rooms...)

I do think the admin, should share with another admin. Just in case for some reason the original admin is no longer able to do her admin duties for whatever reason. I think it would be good to have a back up admin. Ok..how many times did I just say admin ?
