Ok I'm just getting back in to stamping and was going to order a Misti, but then saw TH has one and I think someone said Stamping Up does to? Which one to pick?
Help!

Do you do layered stamping? If not, I am sure any of the available presses would work.
If I hadn't already purchased the WRMK Precision Press, I would get their newest version with a couple of extra top pieces so I could place stamp for each layer of layered stamp pieces on a different top plate. I am really tempted...
I went looking for the CHA 2018 demo of it, but can't find it right now. Will add it in when I find it.

I have the original WRMK Precision Press, the MISTI and the TH, but I really think this PPA is going to be GOOD! I'm so tempted.

I’m very happy with my Tim Holtz stamp platform.

I have both the MISTI and the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform. They both do the same thing, but the TH Platform, IMO, is a far sturdier piece of equipment. The cover/lid on my MISTI is permanently "dirty" despite treating it with kid gloves and using only the special cleaners suggested by the mfg. Makes it difficult to use for its intended purpose because I can hardly see the grid lines. On the other hand, although most of my clean up is with water and a Absorber, I can clean my TH Platform by spraying ink cleaner directly on it and it is as crystal clear as the day I got it. Also, I like the open sides that allow you to work on larger pieces of card stock. I'm sure you'll find many different opinions on stamp positioners. I will say that once my TH Traveler's size Platform arrives, that MISTI is destined for the trash!

I have both Misti and TH Platform. Between the two, I feel TH Platform is far superior quality. My bigger misti feels like it is going to snap anytime. My little one is holding up still but I really like the TH Platform better. better quality better price.

I love my Tim Holtz platform. I'm also still considering the Stampin Up version.

I have a Stampoholic [misti knockoff] and the TH Stamp Platform. I love the TH SP so much more. I like that I'm not limited to size and its so easy to clean and I really didn't like the use of the foam and grid paper in the 'other' one.

Some had issues with the Tim Holtz platform, but it may have just been the early ones.
I have two of the TH platform (the extra is for sharing when friends come to craft with me). Both work extremely well, and I love them. However, I am tempted by the PPA and the SU versions, too......

I have the WRMK precision press. I only use it for card making so the size is perfect. No issues using either clear or rubber. The hinge floats somewhat (not sure if it supposed to) so no issue switching between the different depths of stamps. It was $37 at my LSS and I got it 50% off last December.

I have the Tim Holtz and do not like it at all. It does not stamp well in different spots of the platform no matter what I do. I bought one for my DD and it is the same exact way. I love my Misti. It stamps well, and I have no trouble cleaning it. I have it in the different sizes too. If it broke, I would buy another one right away. Great product. It has made me a much better stamper.

I had the same issue with my TH platform and my misti also works better, only I would not give another dime to the Misti company no matter what. I'd go without or make my own before I did. Then again I had a cracked misti and had to jump through many hoops to get it replaced. I preordered the stampin up one and hopefully it will work well.

I have a mini Misti and a regular size. Neither stamps well near the bumpers with any brand of clear stamp. Also I had my cracked Misti replaced within warranty with one that is clearly a second because the ruler has a gap. I thought that was a shady tactic on MSP’s part but I let it go. I have a regular sized TH and the smaller TH on order. I have had good luck with my TH. I ordered the original model from the UK. Don’t know if that made a difference in performance. When the travel sized TH arrives I’m drop kicking my Mistis across the lake. I will be looking at reviews for the new WRMK. I might like that one just for layering. I did find out that the WRMK will retail for 34.99 and the extra plates will sell for 9.99 each which I think is reasonable. The Stamparatus looks interesting but I don’t have that much real estate on my desk. If I were starting over I would go for the TH platform simply because it’s cheaper, it’s sturdier, and if it doesn’t work out you know the customer service is above board.

I like my TH. I'm sure I'd like the Misti but I stayed clear due to CS issues initially, then the owner's behaviour (and now the quote on the hinge too). OK, I may be way off, but I don't like the look of the WeRMK precision press! I would struggle lining up all those pegs. It's why I like the TH/misti hinge. Picking up the board to flip it over with my stamp on it? Miss Butterfingers here would drop it on my project, or the floor, or the cat. And really, it's not significantly different from the old fiskars stamp press or HS press right? Except for the pegs to line things up? So while my budget is safe there, the Stamping Up version looks like a good idea for sure if you like layering stamps. I haven't bought any yet so don't have a need. Yet

I don't use any of them but if I were in the market, I would buy anything BUT a Misti ... simply because of the attitude of the person who thinks a hinge and plate with a stamp on it is a new idea.

I had Misti but it cracked pretty quick. I am using TH one right now (it is not the best but I do not want to give my money to Misti owner ever again so using TH instead). I am thinking to get SU one.

I have the misti which has worked very well for me. I've used the SU one time and really liked it for layering. I might buy that one day nice they can ship quickly.

My Tim Holtz platform works pretty well. The only thing it doesn’t work on are my large 4x6 background stamps, but then neither did my Stampoholic. The SU version with layering capabilities looks interesting. I’d never by anything from MSP after her threatening posts.

I have the Stamp Perfect from Hampton Arts, which is one of the knock offs that has left the market. I love it. Cleans easily, works well - and the MISTI corners also work with it.
I have a friend who is a hobby demo & she ordered me the new SU one, because I don't have a credit card. I wanted it for layered stamping, and also because it's a little larger than the Hampton Arts one. I tried the Tim Holtz one at our local stamp store & something about it irritated me. I can't even remember what at this point, but I think it was the same issue others have mentioned about spots where it doesn't work well.

I have the TH one and really like it. Wish there was something similar for mounted wood stamps. I still prefer them. I know I can use the stamping majig, but I wish I had something easier to use.

For those having problems with some stamps not stamping well in certain areas. I found some brands of stamps are much thinner than others. For those I put a piece of extra cardstock behind my project. I suppose a piece of craft foam would work too. I also look at the placement of my magnets. Some really thin stamps are even thinner than the magnet making it hard to stamp if they are too close. Placing the magnets further away from the stamp allows the plate to flex enough to get a good image.

I agree that getting the magnets too close to the area being stamped can interfere with the image on the Misti, especially the bar magnet. I have two Mistis and a friend of mine has three. We both have problems getting a clear image near any of the bumpers. The mini Misti seems to be the worst. We tend to email each other after we have watched a video of someone stamping successfully near the borders with a “how did she do that” kind of response. Even with cardstock added, the area in the middle then stamps darker which is not a good look either. Multiple stamping helps the most. I make sure I add extra pressure to the edges and repeat stamp three times wihen I am embossing with VersaMark. My TH platform does not have this problem but it’s big on my workspace. I have the travel platform on order and am waiting for more demos on the WRMK. The mini Misti is so light and the perfect size for much of what I do. I wish mine worked better.

I have the original WRMK Precision Press and I like it. I wish it had a magnetic platform, but I have zero complaints otherwise. It’s a very high quality product.
I will never support MISTI products because of the product founder’s actions.

Tonic has replaced my first one and I still have the same problem, just in a different spot. on the other hand, I am still using my original, assembled in evade meant Misti, cracks, crazing and all.

You could always unmount them and put them on cling foam. Once I go through all my old stamps and decide which ones I want to keep, I’m going to seriously consider taking many of them off the blocks.

You could always unmount them and put them on cling foam. Once I go through all my sold stamps and decide which ones I want to keep, I’m going to seriously consider taking many of them off the blocks. I did that years ago. The stamps are so much easier to store and position. I use the cling foam and it works really well. I’d suggest some nonstick scissors if you decide to go that route because that stuff is very sticky.

Even if the Misti were a significantly better product - and it's not - I wouldn't give MSP a penny after the obnoxious way she treated members of this very forum on this very forum. The preachy quotation - which is grotesquely ironic and hypocritical coming from her - is just an added cherry on a NOPE sundae.

Wow I'll have to search up the Misti threads. Sounds like I missed something.
Thank you for all the replies, I'm just getting back in to stamping and this seems like a good idea. I'll probably look at the TH and SU versions.
