And you have been with them every step of the way. Actually I haven't. It used to be people would compliment me for "my patience in responding" and "being able to have a civil conversation, despite..." -by many. Somewhere along the lines the personal attacks to me while I was "being patient" and "civil" turned over my doormat status and I started dishing it back. It's okay here to dish it out, but when when it comes back to them, they start complaining. If you'll notice, those conversing with me, without personal attacks, are very civil conversations. We may not agree, but at least we'll be civil. |

When the Left tells you to stay off their threads and "go play in your own sandbox", when those on the Right are repeatedly told you're a sexist/racist/homophobic/xenophobe, you're hateful, a Trump supporter, nobody respond to that person, or that person, or that person, you're a troll, a shit stirrer, crazy, derailing the thread and I don't like your source, BECAUSE they expressed an different viewpoint, when dozens of people have repeatedly said that their Conservative viewpoint is not welcome here, when so many people say this is why they don't even bother posting their conservative/right leaning opinion here anymore or have up and left the board stating these things, when people are comfortable lumping even someone like LeftTurnOnly for having actual respectable goals for the country and equating that into being willing to vote a deranged pedophile into office, THAT is trying to keep this message board to only one acceptable viewpoint. You can express any viewpoint you want. We can agree or disagree on your view point or my view point. I have never told someone to stay off a thread. I will challenge your viewpoint if I don't agree with it and even have a discussion. I have not attacked anyone on this message board but maybe someone feels I have. So be it. I think one of your quotes was in there, but I would think from my reply that it was obvious that my response was more general than personal. If you mean everywhere, from where I sit (trying to figure out what party I align with and not being successful), my experience hasn't been the same. I have friends on both sides of the aisle, and most of them are polite with their posting/comments. But I have a handful on each side that post/make some really inflammatory statements. So i'm seeing it pretty much 50/50. |

I never thought the conservative thread would work. Some people just want to fight. It sucks. I agree with the idea that’s it’s because there’s no one left on the liberal threads to fight with (I assume- I don’t look at them) so they have to come here to poke the puppy.
Then you have a few liberal posters who genuinely want to respectfully discuss and come here - however that’s problematic too but they are disregarding the point of this thread. And it brings more of the crazy with them. The only way to “solve” this (besides the liberals just not posting here!) would be for the conservative posters to just not respond to any of the non conservative posts and obviously that isn’t happening. What a bunch of children we are. Sigh. This is why we can’t have nice things! 😂

I do not use Facebook. Never have. I also knew I wasn't going to vote for Hillary. HRC ran ads NON-STOP in my area. All of the time. Don't think I saw but maybe a few for Trump. He just didn't run ads here. Still didn't vote for her. Why is that so hard for so many to believe?
HRC got more votes than Trump. If it weren't for the electoral college, she'd be president. She got MORE votes than him. If you're suggesting Russia was smarter than HRC and targeted Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania, then shame on her, SHE got duped.
Honestly, I find it insulting when someone is telling you they knew they weren't going to vote for HRC and then it's suggested they were duped by Russian bots. She didn't like Hillary. I didn't like Hillary. A LOT of people didn't like Hillary. All of those people that showed up at Trump's campaign rallies were real. Those are the real people that voted for Trump. To think all of those votes were because of Russian bots is naive.

The fact is that a year and half after the election, some people simply cannot accept that a great many people disliked Hillary and would have voted for anyone who ran against her. The ironic part is that these same people proudly proclaim that 2020 they vote "for a dead cat" if that was Trump's opponent.
