I have the Holly Jolly Kit and Christmas in the City stamp currently in my cart. I keep going back and looking at them but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. I’m envisioning using the stamp set to make my Christmas cards for next year and I really like the papers in the Holly Jolly Kit, but I’m not sure it’s enough of a discount to make me bite. I also was going to try and not buy anything in the New Year, so it’s either order now so I can keep my goal or break it right off the bat...

I decided against placing an order in the end. They were asking $25 to ship a $15.5 order containing 4 mystery stamp sets and a set of LLP Christmas stickers to France. Would rather save those $25 to buy something else in the future like a Silhouette Portrait 2.

Talk me in or out of those $3.5 mystery stamp sets. There's nothing noted about size so I fear there won't be many 4x6 sets. Yas or nah? Too busy trying to talk myself out of the grab bag. I wish it detailed size. I am afraid of getting stamps that I already have. Also, I'm so sad that I waited to grab the Bah hum bug kit too.

This is also my dilemma, I have to purchase what I want now before the freeze begins. I really wanted the Bah humbug kit and missed out, so you may just want to order what you really want or risk not having it.

I bought the calendar stamp as well. Not loving this month's kit at all. Seems a little random and off. This month is my 3rd month so I'll cancel before the next kit ships. If you subscribed to the main kit, I will certainly purchase the cards from you for the kit this month. I'm not interested in the stamp and I purchased the alphas and label set already. Yet, I can buy everything except the stamp if you don't want the embellisments.

I really wish that KP would do a subscription to just the stamps in her kit without the cards, etc. Usually its just the stamp set that I want, not all the extra stuff (except the letter stickers - I horde those!)

I got my order with the $3.50 mystery stamps. I ordered 4 and they were all 4x6. I got 3 by LLP (Maker, Be Kind, Summer Fun) and one KP (Color Me Happy). I'm happy with all of them except Summer Fun, which I probably won't use because I'm not much of a summer person. Still, 3 out of 4 is not too bad. I wouldn't have paid full price for any of them, but for $3.50, I'm good!

Loved seeing glimpses of KP's 2018 scrapbooks. It seems that she downsized to 6x8. Wishful Thinking: maybe she'll do a walkthrough in the future of her albums, after leaving YouTube, there or on IGTV. I really miss seeing her work. Of course, I understand not spending the time to photograph and produce video for albums, it's already a lot of work to keep up with the memory keeping itself. I'm sure the story will disappear soon. www.instagram.com/stories/kellypurkey/

I hope I love all the stickers and stamps. It's really a great price point compared to the full price of stamps and stickers are never sold without the kit.

There are a few filler cards behind business cards, but yeah, not much product. She also seems to be making pages theme based rather than chronologically. I wonder if the lack of product is part of why she’s not sharing videos/higher quality images? She doesn’t want to feel pressured to use her products just to help sell them, but then it’s probably not good for her business to put her layouts out there and use no product.

To me her 'layouts' look more like an older scrapbook format with memorabilia just kind of stuck in the pockets?

From those few pages it seems she's evolved to hybrid memory keeping only. Yet, I have seen some sneak layouts where she does use her product for the entire layout each month. So, maybe those pages were her trying to be done with the year versus an overview of the entire year. The only way we could know for sure is seeing a walkthrough. As a traveler she probably doesn't have the time to sit and scrap anymore and adjusted her process.

There are beautiful photos and they are aesthetically pleasing, but I love the layouts she does for some monthly sneaks using her products the most.

As a traveler she probably doesn't have the time to sit and scrap anymore and adjusted her process. Oh please, Kelly has plenty of time to travel for leisure, see her friends, eat out, post about all these travels, all the visits with friends, all the eating out. She could easily carve out an hour here and there to scrap. She's just over it. It's Jamaica who kicked her butt back into action earlier this year (per KP's Stories). And it sure looks like a very Jamaica album, between the format and all movie stub pages. She had the Big Sur spread done then (I want to say late summer?), I'm 100% sure since I remember wondering whether she was going to leave it like a hyper minimalist hybrid or actually add some of her product.
I always think there's some dissonance when an established designer stops scrapbooking. But 2018 has been the nail in the coffin for several, including the very successful Liz Tamanaha who admitted in her Stories a week or two ago that she hadn't done any 2018 documenting besides filling in the mock-up for her Year in Review digi kit. It looks like neither Liz nor Kelly have done a Christmas album either, despite both selling very well for their December releases.
I'm running out of interesting minimalist pocket scrapbookers to follow.
ETA: IG Stories saved in case anyone's late to the party and wants to see what the fuss is about after they disappear.

Same. I really wish Jamaica would post more layouts, she's my absolute favorite. I think she's still planning to create albums, just hasn't gotten around to it. But then, who knows if she has created stuff and just not gotten around to sharing it. She had said she planned to use the kit she designed for a DD album this year, but she posted on her blog recently (over a year after the last post) to share last year's DD album because she hadn't made one for this year yet.
I've been following shannan_pages on instagram as another minimalist scrapbooker and she posts regularly, but she is almost exclusively digital now. She used to do some hybrid spreads but I'm not sure she's doing those anymore. She actually got me interested in making more photobooks which I had already been toying with and I'm going to create a 2019 photobook in the same style as her for the random bits of life that don't make it into project life (project life is mostly what we do, I'm imagining this photobook to be about TV shows I watch, current events, new recipes I tried, etc.). I also plan to do a photobook for WITL next year. I'm pretty sure I will never switch to digital project life though, I love physical products & filling in pockets!
Do you have any other suggestions? I think we have similar style sleepingbooty and I am also running out of people to follow!

I didn’t see any of the other stories that you mentioned, so you a well-versed in the progression of her album. I made my assessment based on this newer story. Of course, we make time for what we want to do. My analysis was that through her lifestyle, she may have chosen to evolve into hybrid because she would rather spend time traveling, etc than memory keepin in her older style—which I loved!

I’m running out too: Jamaica and Kelly are favorites when they scrap. @andreacollects and @loves_paper are the only two I can think of right now who are sort of minimalist.

Do you have any other suggestions? I think we have similar style sleepingbooty and I am also running out of people to follow! lasteve1 Same. All the usual suspects are disappearing. Carly Robertson from Lily and Twig is back to struggling after making all those public vows about memory-keeping in 2018 and revamping her website less than a year ago (it's back under construction, her IG private again). Kristi Prokopiak is still going albeit not posting much or regularly ( IG as well) if you can put up with a bit of woo. Obviously, Kari Stiles, Heather Meeson and the likes (but I guess you're already following all of these).
amidwestkingdom It's the annoying thing about IG Stories: they disappear into the abyss of never-was-never-to-be-again if you don't save them. I didn't bother saving those Stories from KP's 2018 PL album back then but she didn't add anything to/modify the Big Sur page, I'm certain. She seems done, at least for the moment, and is talking about expanding her brand and business in that New Year email so I'm guessing she'll leave the scrappy side of the business more to Tina now (who managed to complete a mini album per month in 2018).

Another one that disappeared completely was Kelsey Especially. nicolep I also follow Melissa, I like her style too but she does a lot of TNs which aren't my thing.
sleepingbooty when you say you saved the instagram stories, did you mean screenshot? Or is there a way to save instagram stories on instagram, like how you can save regular posts?

I don't screenshot but extract them from IG's servers on my laptop through a browser extension. There is no way to save them into one of your IG collections, unfortunately.
