Mia is darling! We called our 3 legged dog Tripod (tri-pawed). She broke her back right leg jumping for a ball and it didn't heal so had to be amputated. After about a week of recovery, she got up & ran faster than ever, didn't slow her down at all. gailoh I'm SO sorry to hear about your niece. Prayers for you & your husband's family.

Good to hear she’s doing well. If she doesn’t like her plastic cone, there are other softer ones or inflatable rings available that may be more comfortable particularly at night:)

The inflatable is so much easier on the dog. We had a TFT that could not stand the cone at.all! I wish they had the inflatable then. SabrinaP I hope the recovery period for little Mia goes fast and all is well.

She looks great. She will do wonderful. My little guy didn't have the use of his back leg for many months and many surgeries. He almost lost it but didn't. After seeing him get around for so long on 3 legs, we knew he would be fine if they did amputate. It actually was hard for him to begin using that leg again. Praying for a quick recovery for your little one!

I bet Mia will like the donut much better. The one we bought has a velvety covering. All I had to say to our Jack Russell is "Zena, I have your donut let's go night night", and she came right over fro me to put it on. She would use it like a pillow under her chin. So glad that Mia is doing well! SaveSave

Praying for a quick recovery for your little one! Now that it’s done, we wish we had had it done when she first hurt it. The vet and us kept hoping that she would regain the use of her leg but she really never did. She already gets around so much better than she did. She seems so happy. I need to try to get some videos tomorrow.

Here is a pic of our tri-pawed girl. We only have pics of her RUNNING FULL SPEED because she never stopped. I know that Mia will do fantastic on 3 legs.
