Is anyone taking her online class that starts today? I’m signed up and ready to go. Although given the time difference, I won’t be scrapbooking until tomorrow.

I'm taking it and have watched the first video, and enjoyed it Lord knows I have more than enough older supplies I need to use up... it's more like 'clear the closet' than desk. Hoping this will help me use up some stuff!

I saw it, and I like the sound of it, but the February challenges here are giving me plenty to do.
But, in the spirit of using up my stash, I've taken out some of my supplies that haven't seen the light of day for awhile and given them a prominent place of my work table.

I'm taking it. I'm not sure how much I will get done in the next few weeks due to work, but I always enjoy her classes so I'll at least watch the videos along the way and hopefully do some scrapping.

I’m taking it! I watched part of the first video while my class was in library. I just didn’t want to wait until I got home! I’m quite looking forward to it.

It takes a lot to get me to buy a class nowadays. I'm curious enough to check it out though.

I am taking the class, and it is awesome! Shimelle can take a bunch of assorted paper and turn it into an amazing layout. She has a little formula for picking out papers, and this is such a good way to use-up paper and supplies.
She has pdfs, too, that can be downloaded and printed.

My first layout for day 2. I stopped the video to make this one and then will continue it when I’m ready to make another one. Anyone else want to share what they’ve created so far?

Need to do this one! I have like three other classes I feel like I have to finish before I sign up for another one. Shimelle is such a good teacher. Her 2018 pass is a nice option for folks who want to do all her classes.

I think Shimelle has a great teaching style. I’m more of a clean and simple scrapbooker, but I learn so much from her regarding design principles. She also inspires me to work with layers.

My style is much more minimal than hers, but I took her Most Magical Scrapbook class because I have tons of Disney pictures that I want to get scrapped, and now I'm hooked on her classes. I love how she explains everything, and why she is doing something/the design principals. Even if I know the principal, her demonstrating it helps it click in more. So far I'm loving Clear the Desk!

Can someone give a little more detail about the class? I love Shimelle's classes but this one needs a little more description.

donna I assume you've seen the simple explanation: clear your desk (or shelves, or wherever you store your products) of the purchases you made after the last CHA so you have space to bring in the new stuff that has just been released. While Shimelle is working with newer supplies (so far at least) it seems a lot of the participants are using older supplies, including some OA, old MME, Lily Bee. The first video shows her formula for putting together a small kit of supplies, then a process video of her first layout using it. The concept isn't ground breaking if you've seen the old Glitter Girl episode (I think it was called "kit me up") or the NSD videos she used to do for 2peas, however, she does provide a new (to me at least) take on it. The second video is just over 80 mins long and shows her process for using up the rest of that mini kit. We've only had the two videos so far. I think there are eight videos over ten days. I said upthread I love stash busting classes so you can take my opinion with a grain of salt, but so far I think this one is very good value.

So far I’ve made 4 layouts with the kit I put together based on her guidelines. I’ve started #5. So I pulled papers and some embellishments for the kit, made the first layout, left everything on the desk and continued with the next layout and so on until most of the supplies are gone (6 layouts). She walks us through the reason she makes each decision in the videos as usual. I’ve been using product from the last few years. HTH!

I just love how Shimelle can turn 9(?)sheets of paper(that I would not think would go together)into 6 awesome layouts! She does have a little formula for picking the papers which I find is really helpful.
Long live scrapping, jamh

Chinagirl828 thank you for providing more details on the class! It sounds like something I would really enjoy. I watched a few of Shimelle’s Sketch to Scrapbook Page videos yesterday and made a page very quickly last night. I am always inspired by pages she creates.

I'm envious. I really can't justify taking the class since I don't actually scrapbook ( ) but I love watching Shimelle's videos... and while she's teaching classes it means that her regular free videos disappear for a week or two or more. Obviously I don't begrudge her making a living, but I miss her when she's gone! And she's been on such a roll lately, releasing a couple of videos on YT every week. ETA: she did a Friday Live today, so I shouldn't complain. Probably shouldn't be complaining regardless, but getting my Friday Shimelle time makes me happy.
