I print tons of photos at home, mostly for scrapbooking. I need a new printer, and these are the two we are looking at. Do any of you have either one of these? If so, I'd love you review. Thanks! I have the Canon one and loved the prints from it when I did use it. Haven’t used it for a few years now bc I haven’t needed prints so large and have been using my regular Pixma instead. My husband did Photoshop the pictures first, and I don’t think we ever printed a full size photo at the largest size available. I believe he got it at BHphotovideo.com which has it for $150 AFTER mail-in rebate. It’s a huge printer that takes up the whole top of a chest of drawers.

Wow, that's a great price at BH. Ever since hearing a recent Pocket Talk podcast with Jess Upton (Color Cast Designs) as Jess Foster's guest, I have wanted a large format printer. I love that she prints her entire 9x12 PL spread (photos and cards), cuts her cards and photos out and puts them right in the pockets!

I have an Epson large-format printer (not that model) and have had others in the past. It's my understanding that the inks are better archival quality than standard inkjet. The quality on mine has always been great, which is why I keep choosing them.

I have the Canon and love it. Do check the rebates. It makes it way more affordable. So far, I am not unhappy with the ink use either.
I have printed quite a few 13x19 prints with it and that is fabulous.
If you have a Silhouette Cameo, being able to print on 12x12 for print & cut is great also.
A word about 12x12 printing. It is not borderless. Which for the Silhouette print & cut is fine, because you don't want borderless for that. But if you are wanting true borderless 12x12 - it won't do that. I don't know if there are any printers that will actually do a true 12x12 borderless... it just isn't one of the standard sizes for borderless. I can do 4x6 borderless, I can do 13x19 borderless.. and all the standard sizes - but not 12x12. Epson wont either.
This printer is a BEAST. It has to weigh over 50 pounds and is HUGE.

Thanks, y’all! I ended up with the Epson. We’ll see how it goes!

I’d love to hear your review and whether it will print a borderless 12x12 page. I have an older Epson wide format printer that absolutely will not print 12x12 borderless prints-and Epson customer service has been horrible! If I can find a wide format printer that prints every size borderless, I’m tossing mine in the trash and buying it!

I too will say that I had horrible Epson customer service experience recently with my PM-400. Brand new printer won't print b/w photos without a purple color to them. Went through an hour on the phone with them and they said the best they can do is send me a refurbished printer (and it was still under warranty!). UMM NO. My printer is brand new. Send me a new printer. Nope. They wouldn't.
