Part of my problem is my ears as well. The middle ear. I went to an ENT and he said he'd put a tube in there, but I haven't done that. (that's on me) I do the netti pot. (and the instant pot LOL) Acid reflux can cause sinus and ear issues as well. Have tried the nasal steroids and allergy meds and still had sinus infections. I've had allergy tests that all turned up negative. I've also had laser treatment on my turbinates and that did nothing. I've tried the netipot as honestly, that didn't do much for me either. The only thing that does help is if I keep my acid reflux in check and use the Xlear daily.

I'll have to check it out. Thanks.

Mary K, Excuse my stupidity, but how is it different from other netti pots? And why do you have to get a new one every few weeks? Wouldn't you just wash it? I know a while ago there were articles about bacteria. Is that it? Just curious. Thank you.

Interesting. I do have that going on too. I just thought it was my increasing age. I'll have to check it out. Thanks. I think age, hormonal changes, etc. does all come into play, but everything has been much more manageable for me since I've been managing the acid reflux. If my ear feels full, I usually also take some decongestant and that helps. The Xlear spray really has done wonders for me because the xylitol and GSE somehow prevents the sinus infection from taking hold where the simple saline sinus rinses did not.

Allergy shots, hands down. I used to get them several times a year, and they always lasted 2 weeks or so. Since I started getting shots I haven't had one - so it's been 4 years. If I start to feel one coming on, I do the nasal rinse and usually feel better the next day.

Lots of great advice and information to read. I had to see my doctor as it just got bad. Back on Flonaze and an antihistamine spray plus Augmentin plus of course my daily Zyrtec. To help lesson the nose bleeds I am doing a spray of each nasal med in each nostril 2x a day over the double spray. I may give it a week and then see if I can tollerate the dou le spray.
I see Allergy Immunology tomorrow to get more labs done and then get paperwork for skin prick testing.
Going to discuss diet, etc as well.
Off to nap and then read more. Thanks gals

I know a while ago there were articles about bacteria. Is that it? Just curious. Thank you. This is not the “pot” that pours. It actually squirts the saline up int the sinuses with a little more force. I think it works better. I replace so often because the directions say to and I want to make sure it stays very clean. Probably don’t really need to do often but sinus infections are no joke to me. Hope this helps! Mary K
