He passed away a few hrs ago. Brilliant mind, brilliant man.
I can't help but think how upset Sheldon will be.

I posted on the other thread that he and Sheldon wouldn’t be playing any more WWF. 😥

I had the same thought about Sheldon. He's not even real, but my brain went right there.

Oh I’m sorry to see that, this is the first I’d heard.
Such a remarkable man. I can’t think of anyone else alive at the moment of a similar standing.

Very sad news indeed. A remarkable and inspirational man.His contribution to science was unprecedented. The world and science benefited so much by his intellect and humour. His legacy will continue and no doubt will inspire both for a very long time. RIP Stephen Hawking.

I know it seems illogical, but his death feels so shocking to me. I say it's illogical, because doctors thought he was going to die back in the 60s or early 70s, so in a way, you could say that death was always right around the corner for him. And yet, due to that very fact...that he seemed to just keep cheating death for all of these years, I almost started thinking of him as the man who would live "forever".

We are a house of nerds, so it was a sad morning for us. If you have kids, check out the children's series that Stephen and his daughter Lucy wrote together, George's Secret Key to the Universe. It's a great series for kids that are science-minded.

I remember reading an article where he was talking about the possible existence of parallel universes, and that maybe in one of them, One Direction was still together.

Yes, I believe they gave him 2 years when diagnosed.

My 3 yo grandson is very interested in science, so I've bookmarked it for future reading with him.

I know neither he nor Compwalla believed in an afterlife, but it makes my heart happy to imagine the two of them chatting it up, sharing a joint and cackling over the stupidity here on Earth.

I think an important message from his words in that article are....for him as a brilliant and world renowned scientist to the pauper, the care will always be equal.

![:(](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/mYSUyHtG9Jrcmm_ydVcK.jpg) Sheldon brought Mr Hawking to a lot of people who maybe wouldn't have looked into who he was otherwise.

Then I thought of the episode where Sheldon drunk dials Stephen Hawking. Stephen Hawking had a great mind and contributed so much to our world. May his memory be for a blessing.

I had the same thought. I told my oldest who has loved space since he was a little kid and he was sad. He looked like I took the wind out of his sails. I really need to stop reading the comments on articles. So many "he's burning in hell now" comments.
