I'm an ooooold time scrapper. I've always used mounting squares to put my pic's down. I've liked them, because they have been easy to pick back up if needed, if there is a mistake. They are easy to use. Easily available. I have also used the old dot runner, gad, can't remember the name of it, but it was a PITA putting the refills in!! Plus I don't think they are sold anymore. Seems like a lot of the adhesives and runners have gone by the wayside over the years. So what is everyone using now?

I use an ATG for most things. I find that it's strong enough to keep things together but forgiving enough as long as I don't press down too hard. Plus 3m foam tape for popping things up, Zig 2 way glue for smaller things and glue dots that are more challenging to adhere.

Glue Glider Pro. It’s like a smaller ATG but the refills are way easier to install (but more expensive).

I have a dot runner and a double sided red tape that I pick up from my local craft shop. For UK scrappers they are the 'stick it' brand.
For liquid glue I use the Tombow aqua liquid glue. I wouldn't buy it again. I much prefer glossy accents.
Foam dots I use the American Crafts this to that. I bought a load of them from SC a few years ago and I'm working through my stash. I will just get my local craft shop brand when I go to buy them again.

Herma Repositionable for me. Just had a discussion with some friends where one was saying that all her Herma stuff was falling off the page but I am very heavy handed with mine and nothing has fallen off the page for me. I also use foam pads and Glossy Accents a lot too.
I'm considering moving to an ATG because Herma refills are quite pricey but the repositionable stuff is just so handy, I don't know if I will make a switch.

ATG sticks well and easy to find at big box stores is that the huge like thing? that looks like a manufacturer tape gun? I think those look so cumbersome?! I have not seen them at any of our big box stores? where are they displayed? Are they acid free?

I find they don't carry these anymore. I only have a hobby lobby, target and walmart. And none of them carry them anymore. Plus they are a PITA to refill.

Depends on what I am adhering.
Tape runner - Tombow mono dots (pink) - mainly use to mat full sheets of paper to cardstock
liquid glue - Tombow multi (green) - use to adhere letters and small items; this is a two way glue, so if I make a mistake in placement I can remove the item and re-position it
glue dots - for heavier embellishments
Xyron - for ribbon or paper strips
mounting squares for pictures (I like that I can re-position them too)
I've thought about an ATG gun but I decided it was too bulky for me. Since I use a wheelchair/scooter I try to travel light to crops.

My favorite for the majority of my scrapbooking needs is Kokuyo adhesive roller dots. You'd need the original tape runner hereThis is a good price on the refills. Similar to the Herma dots but much better. And not a PIA to refill My second choice is this one from Hobby Lobby.

Another happy ATG user, here... I don't use very much of it, though: I'm not an 'adhesive on all sides of every piece of paper' person, I'm more of an 'adhesive here and there just to get the paper to stick down' scrapper, a la Shimelle. And ATG adhesive sticks really good, once it's set. You can still lift up the paper if you press down VERY lightly at first, just in case you need to move the paper slightly (which I usually do, lol).
I also still use the 'old-time' mounting squares occasionally, and sometimes a dot runner (for thin die cuts, etc.). I also use Fabri-Tac adhesive for certain things (rickrack, ribbon, etc.); Fabri-Tac is similar to hot glue gun adhesive, but in a bottle.
ETA: I always thought the ATG gun looked really cumbersome too, but it's really not once you get used to it. It's not heavy at all. Plus, it's big enough that it can't get (easily) lost on my desk! (although it can get covered up by papers, lol.) It does take a bit of a learning curve about when to let go of the trigger to release the adhesive, but it's not bad, at all. Refilling it isn't hard, either. (and doesn't have to be done very often, either.) There's a diagram inside the housing that shows how to refill the adhesive roll, and there's youtube videos you can watch, too.

I use ATG adhesive exclusively these days.
I've got a gigantic hoard of the old Herma Dotto & Herma tabs. I bought out a rubber stamp/art type store of all their Herma refills when they closed well over 15 plus years ago. They are all still good but i never think about using them anymore. I feel safe that i will always have adhesive though lol.

I love my ATG. Yes, you can buy acid-free adhesive for it. There is a small learning curve, but not bad.
I use mounting squares on my photos, too.
I also use Tombow mono adhesive runners.

buy the ATG gun on sale with a 40% or 50% off coupon, too; much more reasonably priced that way. I also stock up on refills with % off coupons. (I only buy the ones from Michael's; I don't use enough of it to buy a huge amount online.)

Mostly I use my ATG. Love that thing!
If adhering chipboard or larger/heavier embellishments, I use 3-in-1 liquid glue.
Occasionally I use the Zig Zag Glue Pen if I'm adhering something small/intricate. I don't really love it though (the glue is watery and hard to see when it's placed). 'Always looking for a replacement for this glue pen...

I am primarily a card maker, but do make scrapbooks for special occasions such as a new baby in the family. I use the pink Scotch ATG with 1/4th inch tape. It is so big that I resisted buying for a while, but it makes my life so much easier and is not the hassle I thought it would be. I love it and use it for all my cards and scrapbooks. If I haven't refilled it for months, I do review a quick "how to" load the refills on You-Tube. It takes less than a minute to load a new tape. You can buy acid free refills though they cost a few cents more than the ones they have that are not acid free. Scrapbooks get the acid free, but for cards, I use the non-acid free as I don't expect them to be kept around for years and do not use photos on my cards. For heavier paper or embellishments, I use glue dots. There are so many different sizes, application methods and thicknesses available. I do go through a lot of the mini and micro dots. I use Cosmic glue for everything that requires glue such as really skinny die cut words that are too thin for glue dots or a tape roller. It has a very fine tip. I do keep some re-positionable Glue Dots and Tombow tape around for when I am working on a complicated layout and need to be sure placement and measurements are right.
I have bought most all my adhesives at ScrapbookPal.com for over 10 years. They have the best prices I have found and usually beat other stores sale prices. They do not carry the Cosmic glue. I buy mine on line at Walmart - again the least expensive I can find. They carry both the Glitter and Flake glue and the PVA Specialist glue.
Hope that helps someone.....

I use Elmer’s glue for sequins but I’m almost out and keep forgetting to buy so I’ve been steering away from sequins for a bit.

My go to adhesives are ATG for 12 x 12 layouts and the Scrapbook Adhesives E-Z runner for project life stuff.
That said, I use a ton of other adhesives for different purposes. Lots of foam dots and tape for dimension. Scor Tape for mini albums, Scotch Quick Dry or Glossy Accents for embellishments like wood or metal, Glue dots for sequins. I also have a Xyron intricate die cuts and I use Tombow Mono adhesive too.

I can get the roller, and refills at HL with my 40% off coupons.
Ive used the ATG, and won’t use it for acrapbooking. I do find it cumbersome.
