I've seen it in the clearance sections at HL and M's before.
I'm not a washi person - I have one roll and I found it so hard to use - it doesn't peel well off the roll ime. Maybe I got a dud

Ali Express! And linda , I've found that some brands are just that way. The stuff that Scotch brand came out with is TERRIBLE.

M's with coupon. Welcome to the washi party.
Oh, and you may not want to go too crazy on the buying. Many of us, find our washi sitting unused next to all that ribbon from years ago.

I will send you a few rolls if you aren't fussy. I have some I will never use that I think came from Michaels.

Don’t feel bad, I was late to the Washi game too!
I don’t buy any per se, but I will spend money for the ones I love, usually in a pack. Then I’ll use it non stop for like a month, then retire it.
I need to destash my Washi and sell what I’m done with, my bin is full!
But it’s a fun embellishments! It’s easy to use almost on any project!!

I actually don’t recommend buying the cheap stuff because they don’t stick well or are impossible to get off the roll in one piece. For deals, I actually get mine delivered from Japan or people who get theirs from Japan. I like this store for washi: cutethingsfromjapan.com

I have a devil of a time getting it off the roll without shredding at some point along the way. So annoying. I do have a couple of rolls of metallic washi that has less shredding, and I use those rolls on projects. The shreddy ones are used mostly for holding dies in place when they go through the Big Shot - but then, some of them shred the cardstock they're stuck to, which can also be a disaster! Guess I'm not very pro-washi.

I was late to the party as well, I think I've only started to love/use it in the last 6 months. I got so many rolls in SC kits over the years and they're all terrible, the rip and stick to each other, so annoying. But then Bella Blvd came out with a black & white striped roll and I was in love. I've bought lots of rolls on eBay and it makes a great & easy border for a LO!

I don't use washi for anything but holding dies down on the paper or to tape several tiny dies together so they won't go flying off the Big Shot after I run them through!
I got 28 rolls of Studio G on clearance at Walmart several years ago. It was Valentine washi and I got them 10 cents a roll after the Valentine clearance was at the maximum off!

It's also sad that I have a bunch of washi tape and never use it. Once in a while I'll remember to use some to seal an envelope or something.

I am not a fan of pink, but had to have this flamingo washi tape. So I bought the huge pack. I did this page, and then put the washi tape down on white card stock and punched out designs for another layout. It is a great way to use up some tape.

Run away! LOL.
Washi tape is addicting. I have so much and hardly ever use it. So my suggestion is to enjoy, but don't buy too much until you know you'll use and love it. (Not trying to be a killjoy here, just giving advice I wish I'd had.)

so are y'all not using it because you forget about it? Or because you don't like the way it looks?

so are y'all not using it because you forget about it? Or because you don't like the way it looks? For me, I forget about it sometimes, or what I have just doesn't match what layout I am working on. I bought a bunch (although I probably have less than 20 rolls) but I find, for me, it's kinda hard to make it match what I am working on. I do need to move my stash closer to me so I can eyeball it and not forget to use it as well.

whispering..... I like ribbon better.I was late to the game too. I've bought a few at M's and peachy cheap sometimes has deals. Since you don't have many rolls, scrapbooking for less has some older ones that are cheap at $2.00. scrapbooking-for-less.com/collections/washi-tape

I have a bunch of rolls. I wanted to like it, but never got into the excitement.
I use washi for two things only.
1. Holding my dies down on the paper. hint: "season" it by sticking it on your pants first, or it may tear your paper. 2. Putting it on the flap of an envelope.

I love washi and use it a lot as a border, in layering or sometimes ijust to add a bit of color, I have noticed with the cheap stuff the glue can kind of melt on the roll and Pull up pieces of the tape design.

I mostly just use it to decorate my calendar and planner pages. I don’t use it for much else. I bought a bunch of really cute Valentine designs at Michael’s super cheap that I used on DD’s Valentines.

I just started using it in December. It worked so well, but of course, I don't remember the brand. It was part of a Michael's grab bag.
