Smalltowngirlie, love the jacket! Cute outfit with the leggings.... I wear scrubs to work, which is easy but boring. I do need to get out of my jeans with t's in the summer and t-necks in the fall and winter rut! Maybe this thread will be an inspiration. Thanks everybody for sharing.

My phone is busy installing ios8, so I'll skip the pic.
I wore a cute fall outfit to my son's Confirmation yesterday. A pale purple tee with purple/pink cardigan and a 60s silk scarf in gray/purple/tan. I wore it with a pair of soft drapey greenish tan dress slacks. One of my better fashion attempts. I got the Eileen Fisher tee and cardigan, along with the vintage scarf for $30 from ebay, and I've had the pants for many years. I re-sewed the pants last year to give them a more up-to-date silhouette (they weren't anything special -- originally got them at Marshals.)

I'll be watching to get some ideas. I'm barely in regular sizes, but I'm still fat. I'm in a rut about not caring what I look like right now. ETA: edited my post

I'll be watching to get some ideas. I'm barely in regular sizes, but I'm still fat. I'm in a rut about caring what I look like right now. No, No, No - whether you are a 'I'm fat and own it' or 'I'm fat and don't want to be' kind of person, it doesn't matter...you can look gorgeous. Please don't feel that you don't need to look 'good' because of how you 'feel'. Sure, many of us on here could stand to lose a few pounds, but part of that journey is to feel confident no matter what the size and then to drop to the next and see how that goes. Fall is a great season for the 'non-BayWatch-Body' - so many ways to be classy and beautiful!

Ooooooh CUTE!!! Love that bag. Great Fall color. I love burnt orange! and I love it with plum in the fall. Usually polyvore links to all your items, but I can't figure out how to do that to a message board....

I bought 3 soft thin cardigans last week and a beaded necklace (second hand.) I tried to find some boots - but no luck. At 42 I am just now starting to get into fashion a little. I will try to post some outfits this week. Although it is still in the 80's here most days. I am a little trepidatious it is all new to me.

One of my favorite combinations for Fall/Winter. LOVE the skirt and scarf. I will take a photo of me wearing it later in the Fall. I took a few photos of other outfits as well, but may spread them out over the rest of this month to keep this thread going.

Maryannscraps, your outfit sounds lovely. The colour combination sounds great. And I love scarves. Iscarpcrap, ditto Sam! Berkeleymom, I love polyvore. That bag is awesome! I thought I had enough purses, but maybe not, lol. DawnMcd, I look forward to having you share. Kikipea, I love everything about that outfit! Putabuttononit, yes, grey would be another versatile colour. I have lots of scarves but nothing with quite that shape/style. Now I will be on the hunt for one, lol. Maryannscraps, ah I found the photo further on down! Yes, soooo pretty and feminine.

I'd love to play. Can someone direct me to the directions for uploading pics? TIA! You have to load them onto another site like Photobucket first. Then I resize it a little smaller if I can. Then when you post here, click on the little photo in the row above and paste the address of your picture. On Photobucket the address is in a box to the right of your image, I believe it says "Link" by it. Go for it!!!

KikiPea, what a great skirt and the pop of pink really makes an impact on the outfit. I love the lace detailing too. Like others, our weather has been quite warm (after being unseasonably cool earlier in the month). I finally decided to just take a few photos last evening, although I had to use onboard flash for most of them and it either washed out some colours or altered others. The next ones I do I'm hoping to have on to give a better sense of them. Mine all happen to be thrifted, from garage sales and thrift stores, just because all of my clothes are. I like this scarf because it looks very different with the different coloured jackets. The top has a cute corset style laced back which I forgot to photograph. I decided to edit to add outfit costs in case anyone is interested. The blue Danier suede leather jacket was $3 at a yard sale. The jeans were $1 at a yard sale. The top was $5 at the thrift store. The silk scarf was a quarter at a yard sale. Total cost $9.25. The lime green suede Liz Claiborne jacket was $12.50 at the thrift store. So this outfit cost $18.75. The boots I would wear with these outfits were $4 from kijiji while the black heeled oxfords were $1 at a yard sale. The scarf does have silvery threads in it that shine, but the flash really made it look more sparkly here than it is in real life. I really like this pink sweater. This outfit and the ones above I can wear with black heeled boots, or my black heeled oxfords. I forgot to include the footwear in the photos! The pink cardigan was $5 at the thfit store. The black turtleneck was $1 at a yard sale. The scarf was $1 at a yard sale. The pants were $7 at the thrift store. I wanted them for a specific outing so I didn't wait for half off day, lol. Total outfit cost $14. I included two shots of this outfit, because the first shows the clothes themselves better, while the second is a more accurate representation of the boots. It's hard to see in the photo, but the tweed skirt has turquoise, pink, purple and lime green in it, which become less or more predominate depending on what I'm wearing with it. I really wanted a pair of over the knee boots and was thrilled to find these at the thrift store. As mentioned, the blue suede jacket was $3 at a garage sale. The turtleneck was $1 at a garage sale. The scarf was fifty cents at a garage sale. The tights (which look maroon here but are actually dark purple) were $1 at the thrift store (new in pkg.). The skirt was $1 on clearance at the Suzy Shier outlet (every now and then I shop retail if I can find a bargain like that!) The boots were $10 at the thrift store. Total outfit cost $16.50.

Those are awesome, heartcat! Love how the different color jackets totally change the look of the scarf. TFS! It's going to be seasonably warn this next week, in the mid 80's to lower 90's, so any pics I add will be like the ones before with just the clothes. I will take more pics of me wearing the outfits once it starts cooling off for the season. I hate this transition period. I am SO ready to wear my boots! LOL

Heart cat, thanks soooo much for posting those outfits. I have that blue suede jacket and rarely wear it because I didn't know what to do with it. Now I have several shirts I can wear under it (just needed to see it, I guess).

I love your outfits, Heartcat. I especially love the jackets -- such pretty colors. I wouldn't even look at those in the store -- I'm glad you showed them all put together.
I have some pretty blue sweaters that I should pull out and pair up with scarves like that. I didn't know what to do with them.

Thanks, KikiPea. Our weather is not quite as warm as yours (thankfully!) but it is above the norm. I know what you mean about being ready to wear some of your favourite fall items. I bought a beautiful winter coat at the thrift store last weekend, but just the thought of putting it on right now and taking a photo makes me sweat, lol. It is still nice to have pics of outfits even when they are not modeled, but I do think you get a better sense of the whole look when someone is wearing it. Bearmom, you are welcome. I too find that seeing what someone else puts together is inspiring and starts the wheels turning. Now I want a scarf like the one I admired earlier and will specifically be on the lookout for one. Have you been on the polyvore site (or even pinterest which repins a lot of their stuff)? They have so many great outfits to view. It is the same for photography, I love to see what photos others are taking because it gives me ideas I wouldn't have had on my own, and inspires my own new ones. Maryannscraps, thank you, and be sure to post some photos if you can of what you end up doing. Scrappinmama, I usually just buy pieces that I like, though sometimes I do think to myself, 'This will go perfect with...' Much of the time it's just a happy accident though. I'll see something, bring it home and then when I see another piece it will be, 'Oh, these would like nice together!'. I never buy an entire outfit together and almost never go looking for specific pieces to go with something. Except for shoes and boots. I think if you really like something you can almost always make it work. I hope we'll get some more posts over the weekend.
