I’ve recently lost quite a bit of weight, so I’m having to replace my wardrobe at each season. Winter was easy because I love jeans and sweaters. I just got to buy them in a smaller size!
Summer is more challenging. I’m a teacher, so my wardrobe can mostly be casual. I live in Texas so it gets super hot! I spend quite a bit of time outside because both my boys play baseball and my oldest is on a travel team. I only own 1 pair of shorts and used to live in tee shirts and capris in the summer. I don’t even know where to begin now! I still don’t love my legs, but I’m willing to give shorts a try. I would need them a bit longer than most I see in store. I’m about a size 14 now but still losing so I don’t want to spend a ton.
What do you like to wear during the summer? I just need some ideas of where to start.

Capris and longish shorts, sleeveless tunic tops, Chucks or sandals and a light long sleeved something for the evenings to ward off the skeeters.

Fellow Texan here too. Shorts. Pretty much exclusively when I am outdoors. I find that shorter is actually more flattering than longer versions. I don't wear capris because between being short-waisted and short legged, they make me look weirdly unbalanced.

Shorts and t shirts. I also wear a lot of knee length and above the knee skirts in summer. Sun dresses. Cardigans. Straw bags. Sunglasses. Floppy hats and visors. I love linen from athleta and I love summery necklaces and dresses from vineyard vines.

What about a few cute t-shirt dresses? Maybe lightweight above knee skirts and a cute top.

I'm in the same boat...lost some weight, live in Texas, boys playing baseball! I think this summer I will mostly be shopping from the very back of my own closet mostly. More than 10 yrs ago I lost weight for a short period of time so I need to wear what I can of the clothes I have from that time. (The ones that are still halfway in style and are in good shape.) I don't want to buy many new things until I get to my goal size and know that I can maintain it. If I do buy any new things before then it will probably be for special occasions like DS's upcoming graduation. I did just order a new top for his Senior Night at baseball because I want to color coordinate with his uniform when we walk him out on the field. I found the perfect top online from Cato. It was inexpensive enough that I'm not worried about only being able to wear it a couple of months. HOPEFULLY! 😉 When I do hit my goal, I can't wait to wear shorts, cute summer dresses and sleeveless tops again! I've lived in capris and baggy tshirts in the unbearable heat for far too long! Have fun shopping!

I'm a SAHM and my day to day summer look is shorts (8" inseam) and a tee shirt (usually solid or graphic). I also have lots of ankle/capri pants and jeans. I prefer the longer length vs. Bermuda or just below the knee as that length is NOT good on me. I also have several dressier tees and tops.
It is easy to take a plain tee shirt and add a cute necklace, colored purse and fun shoes to jazz it up.

Well, dress clothes for work, of course, but evenings and weekends, it's pretty well shorts and tank tops. Although that may change as I'll be doing the Get Your Pretty On Summer challenge. I'm sure she'll open my wardrobe world up for me with her outfit suggestions!

I like capris and longer tee shirts. I hate to bend over and have a gap between my shirt and the capris!! I like capris because my knees are ugly due to arthritis, and I like to cover them, but the capris are a lot cooler than longer pants or jeans. Since I live in the desert, it gets HOT here!!

I like capris and longer tee shirts, but I also like skorts - I have gotten some at L L Bean that are really comfortable. This is my favorite style, but they have several different ones! L L Bean Skort
I'm in SC and it gets really hot here, too! I love to put these on with a tee shirt and do my errands, etc!

I'm heading to Texas on Thursday. I am going to melt. It is supposed to be 91* and 47% humidity. Ugh. It's April!
I wore casual shirts and light capris or slacks with sandals. I was a teacher also. I know a lot of the younger girls wore sundresses. They weren't my thing.

I wear a lot of capris, including yoga pant style, with tunic length t shirts. I also have some loose boyfriend jeans that I wear a lot.

I love my old navy denim Bermuda shorts. I also do not love my legs.
I also wear tank tops and tee shirts. I don't worry about impressing anyone. If people don't want to see what I look like in tank tops/shorts, they can look away. I feel the same way about my bathing suits. I wear a racing 2 piece and my body after 2 kids is NOT bikini ready at all but I don't care.

I also just lost enough weight to need to redo my wardrobe. For summer I bought shorts, some capris, colored jeans, t-shirts, tanks and lightweight short sleeve tops. I’ve been working out 3-4 times a week and will up that to five days a week soon. Because of that I’m pretty happy with my legs. The bottom of my upper arms are still floppy, but they will get there! Since I’m in the PNW we don’t get your heat or humidity so a lot of our clothes are multi season.

I wear shorts- never capris- because like keithurbanlovinpea I'm short with no waist. I don't wear T-shirts unless I'm in the house because they just look sloppy on me, so I usually wear sleeveless tops out. To be honest with you, during the day, I'm in bike shorts and workout tanks because I'm at the gym. But I run errands dressed like that, too -lol. I want to find some cute summer dresses that are fitted and don't look like sacks.

I never wear shorts. I just don’t find them flattering on me. I wear a lot of skirts in the summer. The skirts I wear most often are from here- www.haystacks.netMost are reversible. I was at a swim meet and a mom (with a mom figure) was wearing one and it was very flattering. I swear there were at least 5 or 6 moms who complimented her and within a couple weeks we were all wearing them. 😜 These are great because they don’t have a fitted waistband so if you lose weight you can continue to wear them. I also wear shorts under them cuz that how I roll.

I like to show off my legs because they’re one of my best features, so I don’t know how helpful this will be. I have to go sleeveless in the summer because if I don’t I get too hot and if I get too hot, I get cranky. During the day my uniform is a sleeveless cotton tee from Land’s End worn with one of a gazillion different patterned sport skorts from LL Bean. I wear it to walk my dog, but I also look put together enough to do errands. Sneaks or Birkenstocks.
If I’m going out, I’ll typically wear a sleeveless linen dress or linen pants or linen skirt with a linen tank. If it’s chilly I’ll wear a denim jacket.
In the spring before it gets too warm, I wear a ton of tee shirt dresses with either Converse or or retro sneakers like Adidas All Stars.
I don’t typically wear shorts very often; it’s hard to find the right length for me. They all seem to be Bermuda length, or have a 3” inseam.

My usual is.... Capri's and wider strap tank tops, not spaghetti straps. I have several thin open front or button up cardigans(Old Navy, Ross, etc..), if I need to look more polished.
Occasional is.... Summer dresses. My preference is a wider strap tank style swing dress(just above knee) or wider strap tank style maxi dress, or maxi skirt and wider strap tank top.
All of the above, can be dressed up (cardigan, heels, blingy sandals, jewelry) or down(flats, flip-flops, biker style boots, denim vest, denim jacket, sweater/hoodie tied around waist).
I also have a couple pairs of tapered leg-skinny? Levis, that can be worn long or rolled up a bit, but it's usually too hot in the summer, to wear them.

I have a lot of shorts for summer! They are all medium length beige shorts, so looks like I wear the same thing all the time. And the cheap v-neck t-shirts from Kohl's. I am a sahm, so I don't have any dressy clothes. And I hate fall/winter clothes, so I just have a couple pairs of jeans, a few cardigans, a few long sleeve t-shirts. And a few pairs of flip flops. I have probably 7 pairs of shoes total for all seasons! All I do when I am home is clean the house, so don't want to wear nice clothes (because I have a tendency to ruin them when cleaning).

I feel the hi-rise come up so high and make my rear look huge (mom jeans). I love low waisted, but only when I am standing! I have to wear long cardigans or I can't sit down. I have a few pairs of capris, but I live in Pgh., and it seems winter lasts until until May so I only get a couple weeks to wear them. Once it's warm, I just wear shorts. We still are wearing heavy winter coats and gloves!

It’s hot as hell here in the summer, so I stick to simple silhouettes.
T-shirt dresses and short sleeved swing dresses. A few sleeveless shifts and tops “Vintage tees” from Loft. Chino shorts from J. Crew and denim cut-offs Cotton tanks Cropped white jeans and blue jeans
For casual wear, I do Birkenstocks or simple, flat leather sandals. For dressier stuff, I like wedge sandals or Toms heeled sandals. I don’t wear flip flops unless I’m going to the pool or beach.

Thank you It’s really hard to start and because I go before work, that’s hard too! I do not like getting up early. But I found a great Crossfit gym and love how I feel after class. I just take the 30 minute class so I’m in and out as quickly as possible!

I started living in sleeveless t-shirt dresses from Old Navy. They are so comfortable and they could probably easily get you through several clothing sizes as you lose more weight.

I don’t like shorts much. I usually wear casual, t-shirt type dresses or long, flowing dresses. If you do get shorts, try the ones with a flat panel in front.

LOL.
