a real estate agent must have gone on land registry and pulled names from houses that were set up as duplexes or multiple units. our house was 2 units when we bought it. he sent a package about his expertise with income properties.
his letter was address to my name and our neighbour down the street who does have a duplex.
so mrs. k . merrick and mr h pullman.... at our address.
it wasn't the post offices fault but obviously the realtor was a little sloppy with his research!!! i laughed and said "this is how rumours get started!".

When my in-laws passed away we had their mail forwarded to our house (across the country). For years the social security office would send some kind of informational brochure for my mother-in-law about once a year. It was telling her how to sign up for benefits. A few years ago we moved to a new state and her mail followed us once again! She died over 23 years ago! We did not put her on the mail forwarding card for the post office. It's weird telling dh that mail came for his mother again. Maybe it's some kind of a sign...

We live one town over from my hometown. Both towns share the three digit town code part of the phone number. We were getting collection calls on our new number for a woman I'd never heard of before. I did recognize the last name as being the same as an old classmate. Sure enough it was his ex-wife!

My parents moved to their new house in July... they get mail addressed to me with my maiden name. I've been married 10 years and have never lived in their new home.
