I am seriously considering getting a tablet. I have a Nook HD but I think I want something else (that's Nook compatible maybe?). I can add it to my cell phone account so I can get wi-fi/4G. I don't really want an Ipad...

I use my IPad Air 2 with my Explore. My DD uses her IPad Pro with her Explore. I remember hearing Android usage was in beta testing. Not sure what the status is on using androids with the Explore is now. Maybe you can ask Provo Craft (Cricut) to double check before you purchase anything.

My answer is more tablet related. I bought myself a new Samsung Galaxy tablet to replace my Nook Color. Oh my gosh. I wish I had done it years ago! I downloaded the Nook app and it works just like the Nook reader.
Everything is better.
If you are going to use it with the Cricut Explore Air 2, I would say get the largest tablet you can afford, so you have a larger screen.

Yes, I can use a tablet, but I just prefer a bigger screen for using with my Cricut Explore Air 2. I have an iPad 2. It's got a decent sized screen, bigger than my Samsung tablet, but I still prefer using my laptop with Design Space.

I have, in a pinch at a crop, used my cell phone. I only needed to cut some letters. I couldn't get into the WiFi on my tablet at the venue.
