The plan is to replace it in a couple of weeks. The bile duct above the blockage was too dilated to hold the stent in place properly. This stent will get everything drained and give the duct time to go back to normal. In a couple of weeks they will try to replace it with a normal stent as long as the tumor will allow it. For infection reasons it is better to have the normal stent.
Today's procedure was very painful and I was awake for all of it. I feel like I have been punched really hard several times in the ribs. I was admitted again for overnight observation and have been getting morphine in my IV.
The original tumor has grown in size which is why the bile duct got blocked. The cancer is also impacting the top of the small intestine.
Update:
My heart decided to do a weird rythym a few minutes ago. My pacer is doing its job but they did an EKG and did some bloodwork. I am in the same observation room I was in last night so I have lots of people watching me.
