Love this teapot, but $600 to boil water? The toaster is just as cute, but not for $600. What overpriced item(s) have you come across lately?

My Mom and I were shopping at the local outlet mall. Granted, we know this is not the outlet mall of the "old times" where prices were really rock bottom. Most everything had what would be considered regular retail prices.

I stopped going to outlet malls because most were selling items specifically manufactured to sell at their outlets vs selling discounted retail items.

I went into an Origins store while on vacation this week...I'd never been in one before. The prices were appalling. I still bought a couple of things.

DH showed me a video online of this new watercraft thing that you could ride on top of the water like a jet ski but it would also dive under the water like a submarine. The price tag? $80K! How about no? That’s just nuts.

I learned that factory outlets have different tags to differentiate the products. J. Crew, for example, has two diamonds on their labels for factory items.

Used to be we'd try and make the drive two to three times a year, but I find better deals online with the added convenience of having it delivered.

Macy's is turning into Kohl's with their fake pricing. I bought a top marked $74, by the time they took all the discounts it was $28.50. It is so stupid.

I found a bracelet at Fred Meyer for almost $1000 that I really want and almost put it in layaway and finally I started looking around found it for $250. Now I need to have the nerve to buy it. I found a pair of sandals I want and they are on sale for $80. I never spend much money( shoes, clothes, jewelry) on things for myself so I am having a hard time buying these items.

Right now I'm looking at a lot of art prints--prints, not originals--and having sticker shock. I'm having trouble justifying pushing the button.

I can't believe how much deodorant and bras cost.... I finally found a bra I liked the other day (been looking for a few months) and was sadly pleased that it was "only" $59. I bought two.

Razor blades. My husband likes these Gillette fusion blades that cost $30 for 8 blades with the 15% discount from amazon's subscribe and save program.

even though its not stupid outrageous, I looked for a 4-slice toaster at Kohl's to replace our 20 year old toaster. They only had two 4-slice toasters, both on sale, one was $50 and the other was $70.
its a toaster....
I guess I thought I could get one for 25-30$....guess not!!

We went to Vic & Anthony's while we were in Houston this weekend - the wine menu was something to behold. It was actually pretty funny as my husband almost ordered a $1000 bottle of wine thinking it was $100 - there were that many on the menu.

Oh the $400 hair dryer that was on the front page of Bed, Bath and Beyond's ad. $400 for a flipping hair dryer.. if I am going to pay that much money, it also better wash and style my hair for me. Then I might think about it.

Reminds me of that episode of the Middle where Frankie treats herself to a bottle of expensive face cream and realizes she paid $200 and not $20.

A simple gold necklace. I’m just looking for a simple gold 16” chain. Tried Macy’s and Penney’s and got the whole regularly $800 marked down to $200. No one in their right mind would pay $800 for something like that. I’m not even willing to pay the $200.

We live in wine country in Northern California and love to look at wine menus in other parts of the country while on vacation to see how much the prices of our local wines are hiked up!

eyeliner. i once saw price breakdown that worked out to eyeliners costing over $1,000 a lb considering you only get a fraction of an oz as it is.

They were definitely exceeding the 4x which I find pretty typical at expensive restaurants. We're long time fans of Cakebreak - before it was really available outside the winery - I can't remember if it was $500 or $600 on the menu. I'm pretty sure I still have some of that exact same wine in our basement we bought for $75 which we complained about!
