The date for his visit is Friday 13th July. It now a working visit not a state visit and for that I must admit I am glad but I suspect there will be protests regardless. We'll see!

I'm sorry he will be unleashed on you.
What is the difference between a working visit and a state visit for you? And why are there more likely to be protests for one over the other?

Trump loves crowds of any type.
Too bad you can get the word out not to show up!
Everybody stay home.
That would just send him in a tizzy.

But, but, but... how can it be a working visit if he is arriving on a Friday? He doesn’t work weekends! ((I wonder which golf course will get a visit?)

Oh, he doesn't work weekdays either, believe me. That would get in the way of "Fox and Friends," tweeting breaks, his golf sessions, and "Executive Time."

A lot less fanfare, less formal, he won't stay in such a high ranking place such as Buckingham Palace, they will discuss policies, trade agreements or whatever rather than just waft about being shown the sights and being feted. A state visit is the most hospitable a country can be officially. A working visit is obviously less so. So many people were intensely irritated that Mrs May invited him for a state visit with indecent haste and despite the warning signs from the campaign as to what sort of president he might be. The fact that she originally offered a state visit was seen as ...how shall I say this...too good for him. I guess some people will be satisfied that this isn't the full-on state visit but he is still widely disliked so I do think there will be protests nonetheless.

I am assuming this means he will not be meeting the queen? I had the same question about "State Visits" in the US. Trump has met with lots of world leaders in Washington and Florida, but Macron's visit was billed as the "first state visit" Trump has hosted?

he won't stay in such a high ranking place such as Buckingham Palace Oh NOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!! Please save your Queen!! If it is classed as a working visit he's highly unlikely to meet anyone from the Royal Family. He'll arrive in Downing Street or Chequers ( the country home of the Prime Minister ) to meet the PM and government ministers, maybe businesses if anyone agrees to see him! There's already a Facebook page set up to oragnize a demonstration and it already has 85,000 in the short time since the announcement, of their intention to attend a demo and another 90,000 interested. So he'll get his crowds but not the way he hoped they would react to seeing him.

Sadiq Khan - the mayor of London's tweet
If he comes to London, President Trump will experience an open and diverse city that has always chosen unity over division and hope over fear. He will also no doubt see that Londoners hold their liberal values of freedom of speech very dear.

The better thing to do would be to go in numbers to immigrant centers and volunteer.

I’m am so sorry we are making our problem, your problem. On the other hand, I hope there are massive demonstrations, so he can see how much he is hated.

I've no idea who the band Green Day is, not my kind of music but their fans with their blessing has started a campaign to get their 2004 recording of American Idiot to #1 in the charts here at the time Trump arrives in the UK LINK
I have a feeling this trip isn't going to go the way Trump would have liked somehow.
