That was some piece by Julie Kelly on Nunes. Sad thing is there are people who believe that fiction piece.
Here is the classy response to Nunes by Susan Hennessey...
“I'm tempted to respond to this silly attack with snark. But while I have your attention sir, I'll say this instead: We cannot keep Americans safe and free without functional oversight. You've been entrusted to hold certain things apart from politics. It matters. Please do better.”
The best thing that could happen is the folks in his district vote for Andrew Janz instead of Nunes.

This from World News Tonight....
“WH Nat'l Security Adviser John Bolton tells @martharaddatz having a meeting between Pres. Trump and Kim Jong Un "without months, and months, and months" of preparation is advantageous: "President Trump will be able to size Kim Jong Un up, and see whether the commitment is real."
Prompted this response from Aidan McLaughlin...
“Somewhat alarming that the publicly stated plan on North Korea is to have Donald Trump just wing it”
If truth be told trump doesn’t have the attention span for “months and months and months” of preparation.
Also trump needs a win before the mid term elections.

What I want to know is, how can the Trumpsters who chant like that see that not only is he NOT draining the swamp, he's making it deeper?? Betsy DeVos, Scott Pruitt, Ben Carson, scandal after scandal... are they that clueless as to what 'the swamp' is made up of? Apparently Trump's swamp is full of quicksand, with no bottom. HIS supporters think that they are wonderful people, Cabinet Secretaries..... The media is making up the 'fake stories' for the 'fake news'... The poor, as in his people, folks are being picked on! Doesn't help that his supporters also believe the bullshit that anything negative = fake. They eat up everything he tells them just like, oh let's see...the nazis did.

North Korea has done a great job of pretending they will cooperate will many previous administrations, long enough to string things on. I hope something comes of this, but I am very doubtful. It would definitely be a power play for China to consolidate the Koreas under their umbrella. So not everything that glitters is, in fact, gold.

linktrump.. “President Xi of China, and I, are working together to give massive Chinese phone company, ZTE, a way to get back into business, fast. Too many jobs in China lost. Commerce Department has been instructed to get it done!” While I don’t understand what happened to ZTE, even after reading the linked article from CNET, what I find really interesting is trump’s comment ‘Too many jobs in China lost”. Since when did China care about the number of jobs lost in this country that went China? What an odd comment, even for trump.

Jory Rand....
“Ignore your politics or even your opinion of the job he's doing. Is President Trump a decent human being?”
He turned this question into a twitter poll. As of now 63% say yes trump is a decent person and 37% day no trump is not a decent man.
The only thing I can think of why this 63% answered yes is because they practice “motivated ignorance”.

The US put a 7 year ban on ZTE (from anything being sold/used in the US) in part because of dealings with Iran. Allowing ZTE to work/operate in US also allows them access to YS technology which they apparently need. So US puts sanctions in place and trump us committed to reversing them? You don’t say....

“While I ABHOR the joke about McCain's health, it was NOT "the end of decency." Decency ended when a man who made fun of the disabled, admitted to sexual assault, & sowed racist lies, was elected president. You just noticed because the lack of decency reached a straight, white man”
He’s right.

The Hill...
“Pompeo declines to rule out push for regime change in North Korea hill.cm/fdjGBa2”
Just what the other side wants to read in the middle of negotiations.
Do these fools think that what is being said here doesn’t make its way outside this country? Even as far away as North Korea?
From the article....
“Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Sunday declined to fully rule out a push for regime change in North Korea as President Trump prepares for talks with Kim Jong Un.
Pompeo, who has met twice in person with Kim in recent weeks, was asked on CBS's "Face the Nation" if he assured the North Korean leader that the U.S. would not try and remove him from power.
"I have told him that what President Trump wants is to see the North Korean regime get rid of its nuclear weapons program in completely and in totality," Pompeo said.
"And in exchange for that, we are prepared to ensure that the North Korean people get the opportunity that they so richly deserve," he continued, explaining that the U.S. would lift economic sanctions and allow private capital to flow into North Korea.”

Adam Schiff....
“Our intelligence agencies have warned that ZTE technology and phones pose a major cyber security threat. You should care more about our national security than Chinese jobs.”
Nothing is ever as simple as trump tries to make it out to be. And there is always more to the story.
It seems our intelligence community had concerns with what ZTE was really doing. That is what Schiff’s “national security” comment was referring to.

DOD stops selling Chinese mobile phones at military exchanges BY DEREK B. JOHNSON, LAUREN C. WILLIAMS MAY 03, 2018 The Pentagon announced that military exchange service stores and concessionaires will no longer sell Huawei and ZTE phones and telecommunications equipment. According to Pentagon spokesman Maj. Dave Eastburn, the directive was issued April 25 at the behest of the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness. The directive was originally just for Huawei products but ZTE was added to the list due to "potential security concerns." defensesystems.com/articles/2018/05/03/huawei-zte-dod-ban.aspx?m=1Really strange for the Commander in Chief to be so concerned with this company and jobs over national security. Another excerpt In February 2018, the heads of the FBI, NSA and CIA all testified to Congress that they and their organizations do not use Huawei or ZTE phones or products, and warned others against doing so as well. Eastburn indicated the Pentagon's decision stemmed in part from that hearing and said the department is evaluating the situation to determine if additional security actions are needed.

Newsweek...
“Bolton says U.S. may impose sanctions on European countries over Iran bit.ly/2rGxwzh”
From the article...
“White House National Security Adviser John Bolton said it is possible the U.S. will impose sanctions on European companies that do business with Iran.
Speaking in an interview with CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday, Bolton did not rule out sanctioning European entities trading with Iran several days after President Donald Trump pulled the U.S. out of the Iran nuclear deal.”
So the Iranian Deal was working as it was suppose to inspite of what trump wants you to believe. trump made the mistake of pulling out and now he wants to compound that mistake by possibility imposing sanctions against our European allies for doing business with Iran under a deal that’s working.
How stupid is that?

I have been reading tweets like this all morning...
Greg Sargent...
“Wait, NOW I get it. The real goal of the "backlash to liberal condescension" thesis is to make the *actual* backlash -- the one to Trump's racism, authoritarianism, and embrace of GOP plutocracy, i.e., the one that actually represents majority opinion -- disappear.”
And these by Charles Johnson...
“This "backlash" idea has been a talking point of the right wing media for many years - it didn't just start this weekend. It's how the right deflects criticism, and absolves themselves of responsibility.”
“Maybe it's just me, but when a whole lot of people proudly announce to the world that they're "deplorable," I'm going to take them at their word.”
“And honestly, the picture these pundits are painting of the Republican base is pretty awful if you stand back and look at it: reactionary, thin-skinned, angry people who do and say awful things just to piss off liberals because their feelings were hurt.”
I guess some guy wrote an op-ed piece bashing the Liberals.
My advice to these guys and the entire Democratic Party is just to ignore the right wing pundits and the trump supports aka the Republican Party. They are so enthralled with the “trump’s golden glow” they are missing the con job trump and the GOP in Congress are playing on them. They are practicing a term I first heard from a trump supporter that she said she practiced “motivated ignorance”.
As long as this group practices “motivated ignorance “ they won’t listen to what anyone has to say that might penetrate their bubble of “motivated ignorance”. So Democrsts shouldn’t waste their time with them.
What we need to do is concentrate on what we can do as a united group and do our best. The trump supporter/Republican Party will either realize they are being bamboozled by trump & company and get with the program or they won’t.
This is not some “coastal elitist liberal” talking but someone who is looking around at trump’s actions and those actions not being checked and for the first time is scared of what is happening in this country.

“Remember how badly Iran was behaving with the Iran Deal in place. They were trying to take over the Middle East by whatever means necessary. Now, that will not happen!”
What dummy isn’t saying is the Iraian Deal was always about the nukes, only the nukes, and nothing else but the nukes.
So how Iran behaved had nothing to do with the deal unless it involved nukes. So quit lying.
