I can't love this enough!!!
I have a good friend who is a graphic designer. He was telling us the other day about all the people who want him to do free work for "exposure". He's very talented and extremely busy - he turns away work! He doesn't need exposure. He does need to be paid for his services though.

One person commented that they went to DMCs website and unsubscribed. They gave this fiasco as the reason.

OMG - SO amazing! It happens across ALL creative types of jobs. Can you donate a cake for 400? The exposure will be great! Or "I have a super large family and you will get lots of business, can you give me a deal?" (this guy worked for a gas station - I asked if I would get a discount every time I got gas then "Oh no I can't do that")

So I just went to their contest post, and now it says that the five winners will be paid $500 each. Guess the backlash was too much for them! Great job by the community!

Oh yeah! Stabby is right! As someone who has sung at a number of venues where "we'll feed you guys, and well, exposure" was the paycheck, this does my heart good!!!!
