I looked through all the images last night. It's interesting to see each designer/celebrity interpretation. Though I did feel like some didn't even really "try"...KWIM? While it wasn't the strongest look, I though Gigi Hadid looked absolutely stunning. What a beautiful woman in a gorgeous (although understated considering the event) dress.

I thought Blake Lively looked amazing.
Kim Kardashin has a beautiful body but I was kinda shocked that her dress was boring,
Rihanna her dress or whatever you want to call it looked heavy but I liked it also..so different.

How heavy do you think the headdresses and gowns weighed? Probably not an easy thing to wear but they looked so graceful.
For SJP...isn't it hard to pull off the blue eye shadow..blast from the past...still looking good but different.

Honestly, I don't usually enjoy this fashion event. It can be just so over the top. As a recovering Catholic, the theme intrigued me, so I looked at the fashion, with only the theme in mind, for the first time. Some of my favorites were Lena Waithe, Lana del Ray, Ruby Rose, Madonna, and Jared Leto. Winnie Harlow was all around perfection, and should be the muse for the next Disney princess. As far as fashion, I think Ariana Grande had the perfect dress, but needed to lose the bow veil thingy. I loved Cardi B and her man matching. Shout out to Gigi, Blake, and Mary J., just gorgeous!

Mindy Kaling made me laugh. I love it. That oversized crown was crazy fantastic and very her. I also loved Francis McDormand just for the over the top attitude. She's awesome and can do no wrong at this point.
Lynda Carter was my favorite.

The Vatican approved and even lent items for some people to wear. Thank you for mentioning that. I have some Catholic friends who are absolutely incensed by the "blasphemy" of the Met Gala theme. They see it as their religion being made fun of. I thought a lot of them were really beautiful - Ariana Grande and Mary J. Blige were probably my favorites and holy hell Gabrielle Union is on fire in that yellow dress (though it didn't necessarily fit the theme). I did think Rhianna's costume was ridiculously over the top, and there were a couple others that felt more "dark bondage" than "Catholic Imagination" to me - of course that could've been very deliberate. |

I loved the theme this year! I hated Madonna's costume, come on this is her theme from the 80s! She should have nailed it! Glad she performed though, it was only the right thing to do.  |

Being Catholic, sort of, I LOVED it. My favorite dresses were Blake Lively and Gigi Hadid. Gigi looked like perfection. I also enjoyed Rihanna's pope getup.

it just seems a bit over-the-top to me, considering her pregnancy photos that were very similar to depictions of 'Our Lady of Guadalupe.'
ETA: whoops- the pregnancy photo was Beyonce, wasn't it? sorry!!
