I am looking for some new sandals that can be dressed up or down. I need support in the arch so nothing completely flat. Does anyone have a favorite brand or style that you love?

Crocs flip flops. They are great support and you can get them plain or sequined.

My favorite sandals with arch support are Cole Haan. I also have some platform sandals from Boden that have some support.

Yes to Clarks. Always comfortable and provide great support. Almost all of the shoes I own are Clark's. I wear the dressier/heeled sandals as well as the sportier sandals. Love them all. I buy most on Amazon with free shipping/returns.

I wear Crocs Athens in the house and Algeria Carina's out. I dress the Alegria's up and down. I have about 30 pair (5 different styles). I have about 10 different colors in the Carina's. They are awesome! Super duper comfortable. I have PF, and these never give me problems. Check amazon and alegriashoeshop.com for the best prices.

Another vote for Clarks. I have several styles and most of them have worked well for me. Most of my Clarks are slipons without anything between the toe.

My Gizeh Birkenstocks are some of my most favorite shoes ever. I wear them when I need something dressier than my Chacos.

Vionics. I used to be a big fan of Clarks, but since I've developed some tendon issues and PF in one foot, Vionics are almost the only thing that I can stand to wear when I'm on my feet all day. They have several styles in a gold cork look that I think is perfect for summer dress up/dress down.
For super casual, oddly enough, Yellow Box flip flops are my favorite. The wedge platform style specifically. Something about the foam they use for the bases is just perfect - providing support but still with good shock absorption.

I have issues with both feet and have to wear custom orthotics. The only shoes that will accommodate them aside from New Balance running shoes are Naot, and they are wicked expensive ($145+ for sandals and $200+ for oxfords or clogs). But I have to wear those orthotics so I have no choice.
However, I have some Vionics flip-flops to use as house slippers in summer and they have great arch support. I wear regular Crocs with a pair of thick socks in winter around the house.
Good luck. Foot comfort and support is so important for me and the right shoes can make or break the day.

I will second the vote for Dansko. I have on older pair but made the mistake of clicking the link to their website and see some really cute new styles too.
I also love my Birkenstock Madrid sandals. They are a single strap slide that doesn't feel so clunky to me. I have them in silver and wear them with everything from my workout clothes to jeans to casual dresses.

Merrell -- or Echo -- I a pair of each, then I bought another Merrell because I LOVE the ones I have and they are PERFECT! I'm thinking of getting another pair to put in the closet - maybe two more - to have the rest of my life -- okay 3 more! Enough straps to hang on to my foot, but not look clunky, great arch support, a little knotted strap for a touch of stylish -- they are perfect. Okay 4 pairs more to save!

My new Birkenstock Arizona sandals in Ancient Mosaic Blue just arrived a few days ago. My feet needed this relief. I've worn Birks on and off for the past 30 years but it's been a few years since I've had a pair.

I bought some really cute & comfortable ones at Famous Footwear last year. I think the brand is BOC, and they're kind of a gladiator style. I've had 2 back surgeries, so I have to be careful with shoes also or I'll be in terrible pain after being out walking around. I have also bought a few pairs of ballet flats & some other shoes from Payless (who have sales & a coupon today). They have a line that is extra cushioned/supportive (Dexflex) that are comfortable. DSW is having a big sale this weekend, so I think I'm going to go check it out. I've never shopped there before.

I wear Birkenstocks inside the house and my favorite style is Florida which has the 3 slender straps across the top. Last year while I was in Germany I came across a store that had nothing but Birkenstocks in them. I hadn't had a new pair in years so I treated myself to one. It had a new softer foot bed which feels amazing. I just looked it up online at it costs $135.00 here but I paid $60.00 there. I should have gotten more than one pair. Looks like I need to go back. Outside of the house I wear Danskos year around. In the fall, winter and spring I wear Dansko clogs. In the summer I wear Dansko sandals. I have a flat pair and several clog sandal (higher) pairs. I don't fit in the clog sandal pairs anymore sadly. When I lost weight my feet shrank from a size 71/2 to a size 7 and a size 38 to a size 37. Had no idea your feet could shrink in length but they really did. I have a bunch of other size 7 1/2 size pair shoes and they all don't fit anymore. Anyway, so glad this thread came along because I'm looking at several styles of Dansko "clog" sandals to choose from on Zappos. Agnes, Sophie is one of the styles I'm considering. I'm also looking at Season, Shari and Stevie. They are great for wearing with longer pants (sometimes I buy pants a little longer to wear with my Dansko clogs) and with skirts for a little dressier look than flat sandals. Danskos have the most amazing comfort and arch support. They are what doctors, surgeons, nurses and anyone who has to be on their feet for hours wear.

birukitty... double check the pricing over on Amazon too. They own Zappos and their sale site 6pm.com. I *might* have ordered 2 pairs after posting here today and was able to get better pricing on the same zappos pair and better shipping than 6pm on the other.

So many choices!
I went to Schuler shoes today. I went there years ago and thought they just had old lady shoes. So hadn’t gone again until today. They had a lot of cute shoes. But man, so expensive! I guess I am usually cheap when it comes to shoes. I ended up getting a pair of Clark’s and a pair of Alegria’s. But I just found the clarks a lot cheaper online so am going to order and return the ones I got, and I might get another pair of black Alegria’s. I got my summer shoes out today and most of the ones I wear the most are really old so that makes me feel better spending so much now.

I did check Amazon and so far they have identical pricing $119.95. The thing I like about Zappos is that it's free to ship them back if they don't fit. Every pair of Danskos fit a little bit differently-something about the way they are made. I usually buy them locally, but they don't have as many styles here locally. I will double check though and also check the 6pm.com site. Didn't know about that one at all, so thanks so much. Now, give a girl some happiness through someone's else's joy. What did you maybe order?

I decided a long time ago my feet were worth the cost (around $125-$150) of a pair of excellent quality shoes for healthy feet that supported them well. I'm not talking about designer heels that cost $500-$1500 or more that you can break an ankle with. I'm talking about what it costs to get a pair of Danskos, Birkenstock, or Merrells. The way I've been able to handle the costs is I don't buy a lot of shoes. It helps that I'm not into shoes. I buy them only when I absolutely need them. I think it's paid off buying great quality shoes. I'm 58 and have had no problems with my feet. The better quality shoes last much longer too. I have some pairs I've had for years and still wear them. Now handbags. I love handbags But even those I've learned to shop for on Ebay so I can get a great bag at a fraction of the cost. My favorite brand is Furla.

My favorite brand is Furla. I’ve just started buying more shoes in the last few years. My summer shoe purchases have been mostly flats or Skechers (sandals and the go walk loader types). I love the Skechers for casual days but wanted something that I can dress up or down. The ones I have worn the most for the last several years wore out last summer. A few years ago I started having a lot of pain in the ball of my foot. I started being more aware of the shoes that I was wearing and how much suppoRt they had and it has gotten better. I really don’t want it to get worse again. Hopefully buying more expensive, supportive shoes will help.

Tevas or Clarks, I have high arches so support is necessary, I find it in both of these.
