I am dashing off to acupuncture. Yippee. Since I overslept a lot I don't have a dinner idea, yet. I'll think of something when I get home. Then I'll post about it. Hmmmm...Ok, time to turn my brain off and go get some bliss.
What's on your menu?
Have a peaceful week everyone.

*shudder*, the mere mention of acupuncture makes my skin crawl. I'm happy you enjoy it, but no way am I letting anyone use me as a pin cushion! Summer is here! (At least for the time being). So we had roast, hasselback potatoes and steamed vegetables . I know, I know, not exactly summer food, but I'm trying to empty the freezer, and I found a roast in there somewhere.

I have been stashing little bits of money away each week so I can try acupuncture as a birthday gift to myself. They say they can help you stop smoking in 2-3 sessions. So I'm going to try it.
I am still trying to crochet my sweater. Part two of the pattern should be released this afternoon and I'm not done with part one yet. I'm working at it. Actually I'm quite impressed with how much I've been able to get done in such a short amount of time. So tonight will be one of those fend for yourself nights. And I'll be rushing home from DS's therapy appointment tonight to crochet. Honestly, the sweater pattern is so nice. And so far, it's not too hard. I cannot wait to have a gorgeous sweater to wear when I am done.

I’m having grilled chicken sausages with grilled peppers and onions and steamed broccoli. My pot roast was fantastic yesterday and today I woke up with a bad case of “eating your feelings is never a good plan” but I have moved on.

Happy Monday. I hope. Lol
Monday’s kick my ass! So making something that doesn’t take effort as my crock pot will do all the work...chili. With my secret ingredient. 😂😂 Everyone in the house likes different fixins so I set up a toppings bar kind of situation and you serve yourself. I prefer saltines, sour cream and sharp cheddar in mine.
Moms biopsy was today. She wouldn’t let me take off work. But I made her ask one of her friends to go with her. Took less than an hour and she’s home now. We should know, what I’m saying will be good news ,on Wednesday.

PolarGreen12 , I'm praying that your mom gets benign news. I'll wait with you. jeremysgirl , my acupuncturist takes insurance and my plan covers her just as they would any doctor. I had a small co-pay. Since I've met my out of pocket max I don't pay a thing right now. miominmio , it's nothing like you imagine. I was scared of the needles until I did it and it felt great. Once I poured myself out of there I knew I was hooked. Speaking of acupuncture, um I went very happy to receive my weekly dose of healing, but I forgot that she's out this week. DOH! So, I turned around, came home and felt like an idiot. Oh, I still haven't come up w/a dinner idea, yet. However, I did want to share that my brain is still in the off position. desertgirl , any chance you have some acupuncture needles in that quiver? I really could use a treatment. hehe.

Good afternoon from Oxford. Our knitting weekend was wonderful, but the internet att he farmhouse was pretty dire, so I haven't been online much. We ate, drank, laughed and even did some knitting and spinning, but most of all just enjoyed each others' company.
We left there this morning, and one of the other ladies who lives nearby and works in Oxford dropped my off at my hotel here. I've been out on a walking tour for the afternoon and am not really tired (weekend catching up with my I suspect.) I'll be heading out in about an hour to get some dinner. There were several decent looking ubs within a few minutes walk, so I suspect it will be one of those.

scrapmaven, unfortunately my insurance only covers it on a needed basis and smoking cessation isn't covered. I can't even use my FSA money to cover it either. I have to pay out of pocket.

We had lots of leftover shrimp from yesterday so ddil is sending over half of it... son and grandsons don't do seafood(!) and granddaughter and her crew didn't take any home... so it's just her and DH and I to finish it up. Think I'll whip up some shrimp stir fry for dinner tonight and maybe some shrimp salad for lunches.

jeremysgirl, I hate the way the the insurance companies treat us. Acupuncture is a great tool for quitting smoking and it's much cheaper than treatment for smoking related illness. Would you rather pay for the patient to have lifelong medical treatment or preventative short-term treatment? I wish I had done acupuncture years ago when I first become ill. I would be in a much better place.

leannec, big kudos to your dd. She looks like a fun person. Oh, acupuncture can do wonders for your spirit as well as your body. It really helps anxiety/depression, too. If I feel particularly stressed I mention it and she'll do some points that truly relax me.

I brought home leftover steak, German potato salad, and green bean/tomato salad from my sister's house yesterday. So that's what we'll have for dinner. P.S. My sister was BBQing steak last night, but she bought a pack of hot dogs for the little boys (the 9yo and his stepbrothers). Only the little boys wanted steak, and the adults ate all the hot dogs! and the steak, too.

For our dining pleasure we will be enjoying white fish, some sort of vegetable, and some other sort of vegetable.......LOL! I hate to admit it but we really didn't have much for meals this weekend. We had a graduation party to go to for a niece in a town 80 miles away on Saturday so we went to Sam's Club at a city 60 miles on the other side of the first town. We ate at Village Inn. Sunday we had church because the 9 year old got his bible during church so we ate lunch at Pizza Ranch. We went down to finish up some stuff on our perfect travel trailer which we are making even more perfect.....LOL and time got away from us and it was 10:00 pm when we got home, so I had a bowl of cereal for a late supper.....I guess we should actually have some food.....the really fun thing is we have our first trip booked for The Black Hills on Memorial Day weekend. We are leaving that Friday and coming home either Monday or Tuesday, we haven't decided that yet....but we booked the same campground we camped in when we took our children out there in 1987.....I am pretty excited about that......It takes so very little to excite me.....LOL! PolarGreen12 I am sending good thoughts your way for your mom to have a good report..... leannec that picture brings back good memories of my girls in the kitchen on Mother's Day fixing something that resembled food for our dining pleasure.......enjoy! Happy Monday Everybody!

Sending good thoughts to PolarGreen12 and her mom. I went to my nephew's wedding yesterday by myself and had a great time! DH and I have almost spent too much quality time together since he's been sick...a break was good for both of us. He did stay home from work today, but I hope he can go back to work tomorrow. He has a couple chronic health issues. Some months are good and some a bad. This has been a bad month and we're both ready to have him feeling better soon. Both the patient and the caregiver need a brighter day. Tonight's dinner? Probably a big salad with BBQ on top. If not, it will be a fend night.

I might make pork chops with wild rice and broccoli. PolarGreen12 ---(( hugs))....I'm sending up prayers for you and your Mom! tuesdaysgone ---Sorry DH isn't feeling well....(( hugs )) & prayers! leannec ----Aww, what a sweet daughter you have! cadoodlebug ---Great pics! I want to jump into that beautiful water! So happy you got so see your son! KelleeM ---Ohhh, I know what you mean about "eating your feelings!!!" I was doing that recently! I had a non-stop craving for "Little Debbie" cakes! scrapmaven ..... I'm bummed for you that you didn't get your blissful acupuncture today!!! You're too hard on yourself; you're not an idiot just because you forgot she wasn't there. I just read your post from yesterday about your MIL....WOW---almost the EXACT same situation as my Dad!!! I agree with you that it seems cruel to "make" them leave their home when they are so content on their own. It is just so sad when my Dad just needs a little help with something, I can tell he's embarrassed. He HATES asking for help--- for example, DH's truck is VERY hard to get in and out of (it's also hard for me sometimes, if my arthritis is flaring!), so we gently offer to help, but he wants to do it on his own, (just like young children do**)---which I totally understand. Then IF if he finally "gives in" and allows help, I can see the embarrassment on his face...it's heartbreaking. I always assure him that we just love him and want to help, and I wish he wouldn't be embarrassed. ** I know many of us here can relate to that saying about when we feel like our parents are our children.

I'm glad you had fun tuesdaysgone. Sometimes you definitely need a break! The Black hills sounds like fun CarefreeSadie. Who is all going with you? I'm not much of a camper but I do appreciate a getaway to some place beautiful. scrappintoee that must be so tough with your dad. My dad is a very healthy, active 70 year old. He has always been an alpha male and I dread the day he needs help with daily tasks. He is going to put up a fight. I already know it. Hugs.

cadoodlebug those are beautiful photos. That shade of pink looks so nice on you. It's a bright and happy color. I never did post my dinner plan. I'm going to make parmesean risotto with chicken and bacon in the IP. I haven't made it in ages, so I decided to do something different.

I made chicken tenders and had them with spinach & pilaf. I’m trying to get DS to remove his form stuff from the hallway before his sister comes home tomorrow and plops her add there and I won’t be able to move.
He’s not really co operating.

We have tons of Chinese food from the weekend that is left over as well as 2 lobsters that we couldn't finish. I don't know how we will eat this much but we will try.
My dad took dinner over to some friends' house. He took enough Chinese for 10. Well so far 12 people have eaten it and tonight will be 14. There is still tons of everything. I am not sure what the restaurant was thinking but this is crazy. I like Chinese food and all but there is an awful lot for sure.
I had a really great day today. I spent it with a friend of mine and then saw another friend.

The Black hills sounds like fun CarefreeSadie . Who is all going with you? I'm not much of a camper but I do appreciate a getaway to some place beautiful. The other half of we and me are going. (We aren't really camping, we are more glamping. We have a 22' travel trailer with all the goodness of ac, heat, stove, refrigerator, oven, microwave, queen sized bed, bathroom with toilet, sink, and shower.....). LOL! We are taking our bicycles and plan on doing part of the Mcnickolson trail. Also hiking Sylvian falls. And of course touring Custer state park and the Needles drive. I hope we have time to do it all. I also want to see the Native American museum. Thank you for asking. I am so excited.
