I also have a friend that is downsizing to a townhouse, so I am going to transfer a photo of her current house onto linen, and using my silk embroidery ribbons to embroider her garden. Hopefully that will be done in time to be her Christmas present (fingers crossed!) I LOVE!!!!! this idea!

I like that one, Daisy. One of ds' friends wants to learn and likes books, maybe I'll start her out with that one!

I love seeing everyone's projects! I am doing the Caron United yarns crochet/knit along scarf project. I am doing the crochet version. Finished week one's section now working on week 2. Will try to post a pick when I get week 2 done and attached.

I have a business colleague who just took up knitting again as a hobby. Was wondering what kind of Christmas gift ideas I could build around this? She'd obviously have various needles to work with. A cute project bag with a skein of yarn from a local alpaca farm and maybe a gift card to a local yarn shop or craft store, depending on what's available in your area. I make some small project bags that are great for socks and hats. Me, I'm just knitting away at socks and hats. A local alpaca farm asked me to make some hats with their yarn so I've been working on that.

I am staying at my parents house for 2 weeks, and Mum brought out 3 huge bags of yarn that she found at my Nan's house. Mostly whole balls, light worsted weight (DK), in every colour imaginable. I asked her for a crochet hook and started making a stripey ziz zag blanket. Its for my Dad. He was diagnosed with ALS in June, and is rapidly declining. I thought that he could use a lap blanket when he eventually has to use a wheelchair. Plus it uses up all this excess wool Mum has acquired, that she'll never use up herself.

Anyone got big plans for projects this weekend? I ditched my cross stitch pattern search to focus on finishing the afghan for my mother in law. The weather is nice and rainy so that helps get me in the mood to work on blankets.

I love having this thread! My oldest DD requested a red and white afghan to use when she decorates for Christmas (candy cane colors), and I have 5 strips done using the old Annie's attic mile a minute strip technique...anyone else remember those? Although now I have found a pattern that has round motifs that look like peppermint candies, so I have a feeling the mile a minute will become mine because she will want the peppermint swirl This is the peppermint swirl afghan: Add AttachmentI also have a friend that is downsizing to a townhouse, so I am going to transfer a photo of her current house onto linen, and using my silk embroidery ribbons to embroider her garden. Hopefully that will be done in time to be her Christmas present (fingers crossed!) I LOVE that afghan! I'd love the pattern. Thank you. Sending you a PM.

The postman brought me some lovely Caron Simply Soft yarn today and the colours are gorgeous.

I picked up an audiobook from the library ( You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life) and am going to listen to that while I get back to my 20 year old cross stitch! I want a promotion at work and I'm hoping this will motivate me to do what I need to.

Yaaaaay! I was really hoping someone would start these threads again. I really love seeing everyone's projects and getting ideas. I absolutely LOVE the peppermint swirl blanket.
It's my busy time with my business so I haven't been doing as much crocheting as I would have liked, and I've had several new ideas/projects lately, so I'm left with a ton of half-finished things. Whenever I learn how to add a picture here I'll try to share some.
Today I spent at my daughter's tennis meet, so worked on ear warmers for the cheerleaders. I need 9 and have 7 1/2 done so almost there. My goal is to be finished by Friday, which is homecoming (and it'll probably be 90* lol)
I've also got a couple of baby blankets needing to be made, as well as some projects for an upcoming church auction. So much yarn...so little time.

Is machine embroidery included in this thread, or is that something else?

I just finished this scarf (it's call Doux by Julie Hoover on ravelry) in a beautiful camel colored yarn. I think the yarn I used is Cascade 220 Superwash - I chucked the labels ages ago. I just need to weave in the ends and block it. I've decided that my handmade gift this year will be socks, so I need to get cracking on those. I'm also dying to cast on this sweater, but need to find the right yarn. Not sure I can swing the cost of the BT Loft...
