Hi pokeys...so very glad to get tagged by nylene as I have been rather neglectful about posting here...between the June team challenges and the time spent at a yoga therapy continuing ed symposium the time has gotten away from me. I have to say I miss the ease of this group, the challenge is fun but a bit overwhelming... msliz hugs to you and your DD! LisaDV that fire sounds heavenly...love those moments of happiness. justjac love your cards!!! grammadee so glad your knees are feeling better...those cards are awesome...you are a card making genius!! openweekend by [url=https://www.flickr.com/ tasting tour by Marybeth Cully, on Flickr

woodysbetty, thanks for sharing your layouts. I am slowly working my way through the gallery, but it's slow going with one finger typing. I love your layouts. That must have been fun to try so many new things. grammadee, is your knee doing better each day? I had to smile at your description of 2-stepping down the stairs, and then realized I've been doing that for about 4 years. Time to have the knees looked at when the arm is better. I hope yours are now doing well. LisaDV, I am jealous of your fire. We had spot for a fire pit in the back yard, but now it's a Wood Shop. LOL @kellr21, I hope things are going well for you. I'm sure it is very hot there by now. Are you going to music concerts in the evenings? I'm off to get the laundry done today.

Good Sunday afternoon, Pokeys! Thanks for asking about my knees, nylene. Yes, they are doing MUCH better! Hoping your wrist is doing the same. Glad you got to do some scrapping, LisaDV. Hope you find some time to share your pages with us. Hoping to see some more of your creations soon, kellyr21. How is the wedding album coming, @elaynef? We have a quiet Sunday going on here. It rained over an inch yesterday, so too wet to do much outside. Dh has gone to the neighbours to compare rainfall and other gossip. I spent the morning puttering around in my scrap room. Managed to put finishing touches on a couple of pages started a couple of days ago. justjac and I took these photos on our scrappy road trip. Had some technical difficulties. I had some problems yesterday getting the coffee cup cut with my Silhouette, but managed to cut most of it by hand. Had problems printing the photos on my inkjet, but managed to get it unjammed and working. Mmmm Not so Much by Gramma Dee, on Flickr But first COFFEE by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Then I started putting stuff away, and discovered a set of photos from my road trip to Calgary in May that I hadn't used yet, so put together two more quick pages. It was serendipitous that I also uncovered what was left of the ep Boy Cousins collection, which worked perfectly for these photos, AND met this month's Manufacturer's challenge. woodysbetty , fabulous layouts!...both of them. nylene , I hope you had help doing laundry. I can't imagine doing it one handed. grammadee , we had a quiet Sunday too. Those are the best. msliz , how's dd? Yesterday, we got a visitor for a week - another dog, named Lucky. Yeah, I'm slapping myself in the forehead repeatedly in between head shakes. Actually, she's a good girl and is making herself right at home. Her owner (a neighbor) is convalescing an injured foot that became infected. She has some separation anxiety issues which makes me a bit nervous about going tubing later this week for dd's birthday and leaving an unfamiliar dog here. Today I finished off a T-shirt for dd. It was super easy. I cut the pieces out yesterday, but dd woke up before I could iron it on. This is one of her bday presents. Tshirt for dd by Lisa Davolt, on Flickr Wishing everyone a fantastic week. I will read new post, but probably won't be able to post myself until the weekend.

Oh, LisaDV, that is such a cute shirt. Don't show my husband, he'd make me wear on every day. Do you have a special iron or did you use a regular iron? My grands want matching T's again this year and I'm trying to decide whether to have them silk screened again, or try it myself with vinyl. We are babysitting 2 cats for our neighbors. We go feed them morning and night. Steve rigged up a vise for me since I can't hold the can and pull the tab at the same time. When he is here he will pop the can for me, otherwise it's a pretty funny sight! grammadee, I love your layouts. Aren't little boys fun? Your bright colors and embellishments make me smile. I left you love in the gallery. I still have an almost finished layout from iNSD that has sat for 6 weeks. I am anxious to finish it and post it 2 months late! It's for the challenge about scrapping about scrapping! woodysbetty, I love your layouts. Your designs and style really speak to me. I'm going to have to sketch some to use as ideas for when I get back into the scrap mode. Today the Dr. removed the cast and squeezed my wrist. No pain at all. I now have a small wrist brace that allows my fingers to move. Who knew they could become so stiff in that short time. I am actually using all fingers to type, however slowly. He said it is good therapy so I'll keep typing. I have other therapy to do 20 times a day! I'm determined to get this hand working so I can SCRAP, SCRAP, SCRAP! Sending hugs to each of you. I hope to be around a little more now.

Oh, LisaDV , that is such a cute shirt. Don't show my husband, he'd make me wear on every day. Isn't that the truth? Actually, when I saw the photo of the shirt, and before I read it was for DD, I thought of you LisaDV sliding down your muddy hill on your way to feed the chickens. You should make one for yourself too I'm so glad your wrist is healing up nylene . Ask your doctor about using pens and scissors - maybe scrapping is just the therapy you need! DD is improving, though very slowly, and she's eating real food again instead of just saltines and broth. Thanks for all your kind thoughts and words. Very cool layouts everyone! I'm so inspired to scrap, but I had to content myself tonight with just going through some papers I bought sight unseen at a tag sale awhile back. There are a lot of baby girl papers, which is fine because I have 3 DDs and a lot of baby pages still to scrap. But the other surprise was Basic Grey. There were 2 partial pads in my bag, their Fact and Fiction lines. I know a lot of people love their papers, but I'm not sure how I'll use some of them. But then I remind myself that challenges inspire creativity, and it's all good. Happy Scrapping, Pokeys!

Hey Pokeys! Great layouts grammadee and woodysbetty. I love that Tshirt LisaDV. nylene and msliz that is good news for both of you! It is my last week of school. I can't wait to get scrapping in July. I've already signed up for a painting class July 6 and I'm thinking about doing one of those wine and paint nights on July 2. My play was on the weekend and it went well. I don't think I like being backstage as much as acting, but it's community theatre and they need to let other people have a chance. (Unless you're a man. They get parts every time.) My mom and my cousin came down to see the play and visit which was great. I did an art project for my upcoming family reunion. It should be dry tonight so I will share pics later. Have a great day.

Hey ladies! I've been a little MIA this month. For one thing, I miss scrapincin and the other my wrist has been bothering me. I hurt it earlier this year and had some soreness in my right hand. It wasn't anything disruptive until a week or two ago. So I got a brace for it and tried to limit the use of my hand. But it is so hard. nylene I can relate to not being able to scrap or whatever. I did get frustrated not being able to paint, cook, do my hair, or even use the computer with my right hand. I used my left hand for a while to do some of these things. Now I can type but still a little sore.
Thankfully Ron was able to help out more while I rested my hand. But I hope to be able to play this week. I got fun stuff to catch up on.
Oh, I finished my art show video and will post it tomorrow.
I am so behind here and happy to see you all are hanging in there and still creating lovely things. I hope to catch up this week.
Waving hi to you all and have a lovely evening!

Happy Wednesday! Hope you all are well and having a nice day. My wrist feels so much better and I am so grateful. Here is the link to my new art show video. I dedicated it to Cindy scrapincin and my grandmother. I know they would love this art. Kelly's Floral Video
I am in redecorating mode again. LOL! I did my bedroom earlier and now I want to tackle my living room. So I have been thinking of ideas and visiting some of our local shops. Last night I went to Ross to look for home deco and ended up buying a dress! LOL! What can I say, it was $9.99!!! LOL!
nylene- Yeah, the park concerts started last week and I missed it. But we will be going tonight. Can't wait. I hope you are feeling better every day.
grammadee- Girl, you have been scrapping away. Love it! I gotta check out all your lovely work.
LisaDV- Love that cute t-shirt you made. I hope your dd gets a big kick out of it. Are you two still sewing? I remember you took a class last year(?) and just thought of that.
woodysbetty- What cool layouts! I love reading about the Marina and the fun visits with friends along with good food. Nice work!
justjac- Will you be doing another play this Summer? I wish all us Pokey Peas could come and cheer for you.
Waving hi to you all and have a nice evening.

Hello Pokeys! Love the teeshirt, LisaDV. I have to admit that, like msliz, the first thing I thought about was your tumble down the hill to the chicken coop. But people like me should not giggle about people falling! Good to hear from you, kellyr21. Glad your wrist is feeling better. Thanks for sharing the video. I enjoyed seeing the different stages of your painting projects. Lovely that you dedicated it to Cindy. We all miss her. Good news about your wrist, nylene! You will be scrappin' in no time! I still have not heard back from the physio therapist to set up an appointment for my knees. They are virtually pain free now, but I want to improve my balance and muscle strength to prevent another session like this spring. Tomorrow I have an appointment at the hospital for my annual mammogram, so will stop in at the PT office to see if I can book an appointment in person. Hope your dd is continuing to improve, msliz. And I hope you soon get time and energy to use some of your new papers. I put away everything in here, today, including the new specialty papers I received today from Paper Wishes. The golds and silvers and hollographics I had ordered to use on cards, but I also got a Paper House pad that I really want to play with. It has watercolour backgrounds, and geometric designs, some of which are foiled. If it had arrived last week, some of those papers would already be in my album! But I am on a mission to clean this house so it is ready for my ds and family who will be arriving Friday. Now that I have found the floor, tomorrow I need to vacuum and dust. After my appointment I am heading into the next town where they have a larger grocery store to pick up food for the weekend. And of course treats for those delightful little boys! We will have a busy weekend. Ds, ddil, and two little guys are arriving on Friday with two dogs and a horse. We will be hosting his aunt and cousins for a couple of suppers while they are here. July 1st is Canada Day and always a busy time in town. And ds is entered in a rodeo team roping event in a nearby town as well. So I guess this is the calm before the storm. Feels weird not to have created anything today: I have really gotten into the habit of doing that. Looking forward to the July challenges to get me going again. Hope I can FIND the scrappy stuff I need when I have the time--and all the fun photos from the weekend to scrap!

Lovely that you dedicated it to Cindy. We all miss her. yes, me too. woodysbetty- love your layouts. nylene- so glad you're better, too. grammadee- have fun with those grands this weekend. Mine are coming next week...always fun. Hope your knees hold up! lisadv- love that shirt. Tubing..what fun. I have always wanted to do that and never had a chance. kellyr21 Thank you for the video. I love your flowers. I would put any of those on my wall! misliz hope your dd continues to improve. justjac wow, you have a very busy summer ahead. Sounds like fun! Finished my 8x8 wedding album. It is very short because of the flowers. I did not consider how bulky they would make it. I hadn't used them except on 1 page in an album before, but that's OK. She is going to have at least 4 albums. There are a few more pages but they all are essentially the same as these. ( the preacher is my dh...thought y'all would love to see him!)
I am excited, too because we decided to get a new couch and we got a decorator who helped us order it and a new recliner. She is going to come Monday and measure and talk about what else we can do to make my living room more interesting. She said she would help me find a new rug and curtains, too. Its going to be grey and turquoise. I've had blue and brown for a very long time. It's going to be hard to wait 6 weeks for them to make it.
Meantime, I'll be working on 12x12 album for dgd and something for me, too and 12 other grands pages from the wedding. Some of them it was their 1st time seeing the ocean.
I surprised my self by getting a pocket page album and protectors for her pics that I don't want to scrap. I think there may be 500 in all. I'mputting the engagement and getting ready pics in it and whatever else I can't get in the 12x12. I swore I would never do pocket pages, but they are more challenging than I thought and I actually kind of like them now. Someone gave me some and I tried a few in my Arkansas album, and I didn't mind them at all.

grammadee & msliz, You too are funny. That made me chuckle, so I don't mind you giggling, Dee. But...to set the record straight - my slips, slides and falls are usually due to some form of physical impediment - wet or snow on a hill, ice on flat or hilly surfaces, etc. When my dd falls, we ask if the air got in her way. She can fall walking on a flat clear surface. nylene, the t-shirt was super easy with siser easy weed vinyl. I have a good iron, due to sewing, and you want to use a hard flat surface. Siser has a video about using an iron with the HTV. Don actually asked if I could make T's for his gaming convention. I said yes, but for that many, I'd need one of the heat presses which runs about $200. He said it's still cheaper than having them made. I was hoping, just so I could get a heat press. I'm so glad that you are finally in just a wrist brace. I hope you continue to improve quickly. msliz, I'm glad your dd is improving. I hope you will be able to create soon. I used to love the more distressy paper. But I really like the crisp clean vibrant colors now. woodysbetty, I didn't know you had MS! My SIL's sister was just diagnosed last year. Hugs to you. justjac, painting classes and wine and paint sounds like a lovely way to spend the summer. Today should be your last day, so YAY for Summer Vacation! kellyr21, WOW! your work is amazing. Did you do practice on canvas or on the flat canvas board or just on some type of paper? I too love that you dedicated it to Cindy. I miss her too. DD & I haven't had a chance to sew any more. Well, I've done some, but she hasn't. Maybe if the boys go away for a weekend, we will. I'm so sorry that your wrist is acting up. I hope it heals quickly. grammadee, sounds like you are going to have a full house and a blast of fun. Enjoy! @elaynef, beautiful wedding pages. How exciting to have a decorator help you!!! I need to do that. I had one of my nieces help me pick out a few accent items many years ago and 3 houses ago. I would never be able to only do pocket pages. They are harder to me. But I do like them for extra photos or for certain events. Well, today I went to town just to get a few things and take the recycling. DS called and said he needed more watercolor paper for class. So I had to go to J's. Luckily I had my 20% off everything coupon. I ended up with 50% off pillow forms for the couch 2-24" and 2-18", some more sewing notions, batting, and 5 or 6 printed acetate sheets for scrapbooking. But by the time I was heading home, I didn't feel right at all. I was a bit nauseous, really weak, and had a headache. I think I overheated. Although it's definitely hot today, it by no means should have caused me to get heated like that. So I've been just stuck on the computer now. My nausea has subsided and my headache is less. Hopefully, I'll regain strength soon too. Then I'll need to decide if I'm going to tackle the closet upstairs as I had planned or if I'm going to blow off the work and scrapbook. Right now I'm leaning towards the latter, because how often can you milk something for your own enjoyment?! I hope everyone is staying cool and having fun.

Happy Friday! It is a sunny and warm day here and I hope to get out there and enjoy. I gotta do my hair today and then maybe a little shopping at M's later. So glad you all enjoyed my art video. I love making the videos as much as I do the art. I am planning to make my own You Tube videos soon featuring art, cards, scrapping and whatever else comes to mind. My fil gave me a great camera just perfect for videos and I am excited to use it for all kinds of videos and pics. grammadee - Have a super time with your family. That rodeo sounds fun. How is the garden coming? @elaynef - What beautiful pages and album you made for your dgd. I love those pink flowers too. I haven't made an album in a while. Maybe this summer if I can get enough pics together I can make one. Oh your new décor sounds wonderful. Having a decorator to help is a great idea. They have such experience things should turn out great. I would have a hard time waiting 6 weeks too. LOL! Keep us posted. I want to update our living room too. I want to get a new couch, curtains and a few decorative wall pieces. msliz & woodysbetty- Hey ladies!!! Waving to you both. nylene - I am sending you a hug and hope you are feeling better and better. Hang in there.

LisaDV- I think we were posting at the same time. LOL! Good to see ya and hope you are feeling better. That sounds miserable. Take it easy. Is it your dd's bday today? How did she like the t-shirt? Glad you liked my art. I did all the paintings on watercolor paper and the last one I did on a 16x20 canvas. I wanted to make a big pic on canvas for our bedroom so I did all that practicing on paper to get ready for the canvas. So fun! Have a relaxing evening my friend.

So much to comment about. kellyr21, I am blown away by your art. One of my favorites is the predominantly blue and green bouquet near the front of the video and the beautiful large canvas at the end. Some of your tiny flowers look like you could reach out and feel their petals. You have a wonderful talent, and I love everything you have done. Dedicating it to Cindy brought tears to my eyes. How I miss her. LisaDV, I hope you are feeling better and just got a touch too much heat. I am anxious to see what you do with your pillow forms. Thanks for the info on the shirt. I hope to try that out soon. @elaynef, your DGD looks so pretty and so happy. Your pages are beautifully done and they let the photos take center stage. I'm glad you are enjoying the PL designs too. I need to do that with the extra wedding photos from my grandkids. justjac, I'm glad you enjoyed directing the play. I have just one question, when do you find time to sleep? You are a busy lady. grammadee, I am wishing you a wonderful Canada Day with family and friends. It sounds like you will have a big crowd. More photos to scrap!! msliz, I'd glad you DD is doing better. How's the weather there? It looks hot on the map! woodysbetty, do you have big plans for the 4th? Will you have family getting together? I will try to post a new thread tomorrow. We have a big Family Reunion in SLC with my siblings and families. I hope to be home at an early hour so I can still do some Saturday things that need to be done. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.

msliz , I'd glad you DD is doing better. How's the weather there? It looks hot on the map! It looks like we'll be having several hot days coming up. My craft space is in the attic, so it'll be completely unusable during the day. But we turn on the a/c at night for DD15 whose bedroom is up here too. I woke up early today, so I'm spending a little time on trying to clean it up a bit while it's still cool, before we'll have to abandon it for the day. Have a great time at the reunion, nylene ! Happy Canada Day grammadee and justjac ! Drink drink drink your water LisaDV And, in case I don't say it enough, thank you all you Pokeys for sharing your projects - they're so inspiring!
