Many of us don't stop in anymore because liberals like Merge and others just can't bring themselves to be courteous and allow one thread for conservatives. They're selfish mother f***ers but what can you do? Did you see the one come here asking if a conservative pea had a "moral compass"? They can't help themselves and they think that if they shut us up by calling us out and calling us names, they win. The conservatives aren't bothering to respond to them anymore (that's part of the reason they come on this thread, they can't get us to engage on any other thread). But, we vote. Oh yes, we vote and right now, I'm "gloating" over the idea that Trump picks another justice for the Supreme court. In the end, we win because our candidates win and the policies we favor win. Asking a question is not calling you out or calling you names. Many come here to try to understand what do you see that the other side is missing. Plenty conservatives come to the trump thread and voice their comments. It is a discussion, or should be. It shouldn't be one sided. Gloating does not resolve the issues facing this country. |

It was setup after 9/11 to deal with deportations and I understand why even though I didn’t agree with the infringement on civil liberties that time and the Patriot Act entailed. We have folks in high levels of ICE saying it needs to be restructured. They seem to be a rogue, unchecked agency in our government and I don’t agree with that. We should focus on INS and CBP and allowing them to utilize ICE as needed. The egregious allegations against ICE detention facilities back in 2017 with beatings, sexual abuse, etc are disgusting. We, as a country, are better than this. I think there needs to be a change in how that organization is handled right now. I don’t have all the answers (or even some of the answers) but I think there is a line that needs to cross party to protect human rights and not to allow Americans to be detained |
