This is most likely the last week of my World Cup menu challenge, as next Monday I need to go to the hospital to be ready for surgery Tuesday.
Tonight, we are travelling to Morocco - I am making Moroccan chicken with tagine rice. I am just cooking for me, so I went for something I could easily make for one, though I think I'll have rice leftovers!

I am making tacos for dinner tonight. I will be having a taco with the shell and my dad will have taco salad. I am looking forward to it very much. I told BFF (piano teacher) I was doing this and she seriously laughed over it as she and i share a joke about tacos.
Hope all the Dinner Tribe have a great week! Love all around!

So it's Monday, I am so tired and can't wait to get home and put on my PJs. So if I'm still sleepy and lazy when I get home, dinner will be some procuitto parmesan ravioli and salad. If I'm motivated it will be pork chops with mushroom gravy, pearl cous cous and roasted veggies.

Woohoo - there are enough leftovers that I don't have to put together anything new tonight. Pasta salads and grilled chicken are ready whenever people are hungry today.

I had a dentist appointment this morning (just my twice yearly check up), and now I can hardly walk. I'm terrified of the dentist, even though she is probably a nice lady. So my body goes into full on "fight or flight" mode, and every little muscle in my body is tense, and now every one of those muscles hurt like h3ll. Yes, there was chocolate involved afterwards.
Still made dinner (I'm such a trooper): sweet chili chicken with carrots, spring onions, cashew nuts and egg noodles.

Chemo has affected my taste buds and I can really only taste sweet or salty, so I am really wanting some pancakes and bacon for supper tonight

Baked chicken thighs as it's a tad cooler today. On another note, CA is burning again. I couldn't open our windows last night to let the cool breeze in because of the smoke.

The 9yo and I will be eating leftover Italian beef and mashed potatoes from Friday night, and whatever veggie I can scrounge up in there. Down to one houseguest now (my sister) and she's going in to my brother's house for dinner. I am doing 97 loads of laundry, because my DD and her SO and their dog sleep in the 9yo's bed when they're here, and he's allergic to dogs. So now I have to wash every soft surface in their room and the living room, too. sigh It's worth it, though, to see her. Chemo has affected my taste buds and I can really only taste sweet or salty, so I am really wanting some pancakes and bacon for supper tonight Susan, is that the taxol/taxotere? I practically stopped eating when I was on that because nothing tasted right. It was the only time I lost weight on chemo. My mom had to fly out from New Mexico and make me soup. Good luck!

Yep, taxotere is on of my drugs. My taste has slightly improved, but I go for another round Wednesday. I am having to make myself eat some things to try and get and get my white count up and make sure I have some energy. I figure it is going to get worse and worse with each infusion. Thank goodness I only have 3 more to go, right?

susan, I've been told that chemo ruins the taste of chocolate, too. That's just cruel. You're already going through enough suffering. You deserve to enjoy your meals.

We're having maple dijon chicken thighs, rice pilaf, and roasted cauliflower and sugar snap peas. This sounds so good!!! My son made me some pesto salmon last night and the sauce was incredible. He bought it, but it was WOW. I think I'm going to copy Trixie Bender and make maple dijon chicken and rice pilaf. It sounds so delicious!

DS is cooking tonight - some shrimp dish that he makes himself up at school all the time, served over pasta. I'll contribute a bag o'salad. Not normally a fan of bagged salad, but I really like the Dole chopped salads. They have lots of cabbage and kale in them so they are very crunchy and the small chop lets you get a taste of everything at once.

DH pulled some smoked pork chops from the freezer, so those and some rice and broccoli are what's for dinner. Cantalope for afterwards.

I'm feeling a bit yucky today ... probably has something to do with my depression ... luckily, dh has been a great sounding board for me Dd#1 works until 7pm and asked that we wait to eat dinner until she gets home ... she wants spaghetti ... I had lot's of leftover meat sauce in the freezer so that made it easy Just what I need on a day like today

We went to MIL's for dinner. (You know, at this point I can't even remember the last time I had to cook dinner myself! ) She made a chicken Cordon Bleu / Parmagiana combo type thing (chicken schnitzel with ham and cheese in the middle and a tomato based sauce over it), home made potato and sweet potato fries, coleslaw, and grain salad. She also made a divine sticky date cake with brown sugar meringue on top for dessert.

Scribe Spaghetti on the plates tonight. A friend and I drove to a farm and got some "clean" sausage, just made and no fillers. It was so good. We had delicious almond pastries with a side of a blueberry turnover for dessert. I forgot the salad so we'll have it for lunch tomorrow.
Thanks for the thread.

We had a change of plan here. Everyone is off in different directions, so dh is going to make ramen for himself. I won't argue w/that. leannec, I'm sorry that your depression is active today. You have many pea chefs who are here to give you ((((HUGS)))) and to remind you that hope is always beneath the surface. You will get past this and feel better.
