WOW. Way too eclectic and pricey for me!! And big!! Was there a pool? It looked like it, but then there weren't any pix of it (just in the back view of the property picture).

Dude. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) Oh...the bookshelves!! I would love a bath there...and maybe a glass of wine! Such luxury, I wouldn't know how to act.

It looks like a little girl's idea of a princess house. A lot of the rooms looked weirdly purposed - too many little "seating areas" that seemed to serve the same function. I would live there for a year, though - as long as it came with staff! ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) Location, location, location is the bottom line, though. Here's what the same price will buy you on Fifth Avenue: One-bedroom duplex

I follow graciousopulence on Instagram and I always wonder how people that live in castles and estates relax. I can't imagine walking around in torn pjs, no bra, and really bad hair in any beautiful, stately room. This house is just over the top. Plus, just because you copied castle decor doesn't mean you're royalty.

As long as they took their junk with them. There is nothing that wood floors and paint can't fix.

I would need a Segway or something to get from room to room. The decor is hideous. Fine in an actual French chateau from the 18th century, but rather awful in a house built in 1971. I was fully expecting a Hall Of Mirrors at some point. And the description says it was inspired by The Great Gatsby? I must have read a different version, because that was not what came to my mind!

I'll probably be an oddball on this thread, but I actually think I (kind of) like it. It reminds me of the Gilded-Age mansions the train magnates and robber barons built, albeit with a 1970s twist added, lol. It's not MY style at all, and I think some of it would need to be updated or removed (like the cheetah / leopard print carpet- WTH!?) but it *could* be really pretty, if you had a couple million dollars to update it. And the fact that it's on 50 acres-- nice! I'd just like to live in the library space... lol.

My two favorite details -- the Wayfair style "Bakery" style mat in kitchen # 1. It's like they felt poster saying "Let them eat cake" would be too much, but the word art mat is a subtle concession to the help. And in the master bedroom, across from the massive, platform sized bed, three mini-chairs lined up, maybe for the judges? There was a severe lack of comfortable places to sit in that entire place. Ha, I was thinking they were for the staff in case a middle of the night pillow fluffing was needed.

Dang, that's ugly. But, it is Grahnd Blahnc after all. I worked in a call center at one time and had a customer from Grand Blanc, but was reprimanded when I pronounced it Grand Blanc (blank). "Um, it's Grahnd Blahnc" she said. I know Grand Blanc and my eyeballs rolled pretty far up my head.

That place is just begging to be turned into some sort of hotel/event center. For a regular residence? It's a huge waste of space and velvet.

From what I heard years ago, the original owner was rather like the Liberace of the area.

The only time I've heard it pronounced that was when someone was making fun of the people from Grand Blanc. But then sure it has some nice houses but most of them are just McMansions (IMO). And many of them are just regular houses.

I don't live far from Grand Blanc, either. That whole house is a bit much for Grand Blanc. I can't even think of any local jobs that can support a house like that. Exactly what ran across my mind! My husband is from the Flint area, and my aunt lived in Grand Blanc, and when they first bought their home, it didn't even have indoor plumbing!! That house was the "norm" for the area her home was in!! They "redid" the house, and added an inside bathroom, an extra bedroom that doubled as a laundry room, and to say it was "cozy" is a nice word for VERY VERY SMALL!! but it was on 5 acres of land, and when my aunt and uncle died, it actually sold for a "pretty penny" because someone wanted the land for a business!!

the best thing about that house is the barn. i bet someone can do wonders with that thing. ![:yeahthat:](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/yrGoHMAelQz8f2Qt0sjb.jpg) Yep, saw that pic and all I could think for the rest of the pictures was "I really love that barn, though." ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg)
As for the house..no thank you. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg)

Wow, 50 acres and that house for less than $2.5 million? I don't know that area, but if it were near me you could tear down the house and sell the land for $30 million. Yeah, no- the land would never go for anywhere near that in Grand Blanc. It's not a bad area by any stretch of the imagination but land property and houses here in Michigan aren't terribly expensive.
