I need a new dishwasher soon, has there been a recent thread? My search only found one from 2015.
Anyone have one they love? Our current one is quiet , and we'd like that feature again.
Second question, do people still have wood fronts made to match their cabinets? Or is that look out of date?

Ours is a Bosch. We got it when we moved last fall and put in all new appliances. I freaking love it. I've never had a dishwasher so quiet and that gets the dishes so clean. It has a small third rack on top for silverware and utensils that is pretty handy.

I do. He's very handsome, never leaves water spots, and sometimes even cooks dinner I'll be watching this. I've never had a dishwasher and I'm considering adding one to surprise him. We both hate dishes but have been too cheap to buy one.

I know there have been threads as I've mentioned at least once that you should not get a Maytag....unless of course you enjoy replacing control panels, then it'd be a great idea as you'd get to about every 18 months

Another vote for Bosch. Absolutely love mine. We had a Bosch prior to this one that was awesome as well. Only changed it out due to a remodel.
My other recommendation would be Miele. We had one of those in a past apartment and really like it. Both brands are quite and clean very well.

I loathe my Bosch. I’m on my third one because two were lemons and broke down within a few months of installation. This one is loud, slow, and doesn’t rinse well. I can’t wait to replace it with something better please.

I purchased a Bosch when I bought this place last summer. I also bought Bosch at my last place. Thats how much I like them. Super quite. So much so that my son has opened it while its running on several occasions when he's home visiting

I do love my dishwasher! It's a KitchenAid and it's so quiet that I sometimes forget that it's running and will try to open it. (Also cleans dishes beautifully, which is probably important!)

Where have you purchased your Bosch?
I think I found the Bosch the guy from the appliance recommended at Lowe’s. The Appliance store is over 3 hours away and the closest place for the Miele.
I hate these kinds of decisions.

We have two dishwashers, not the handsome, cook dinner as well types lol
Both are Miele. One is almost 25 years old, the other about 12 and both work as well and as silently as the day they were first used. Would definitely buy this brand again. They aren't cheap but they last so long, they work out to be more cost efficient

I hate these kinds of decisions. I think ABT.com ships all over the country. Been very happy with them. All our appliances come from them but they are local to us.

I have a stainless steel GE dishwasher. I love it! But I’ve alwas been a fan of GE appliances because they’ve never done me wrong. It’s ultra quiet and all the buttons are hidden on the top facing up so it gives it a streamlined front. My dishes are always clean and I’ve never had to re-wash them. I’ve had it a little over a year.
As far as your second question about the cabinet fronts. In my opinion, that look is out of date.

We bought a Bosch about 1 1/2 years ago. It has the 3rd rack which is really handy. It's quiet and does a great job on the dishes.

Love my KitchenAid. I am not a fan of wood panel for the front of appliances. I also don't know if it is a trend that is out or not.

We just bought a Whirlpool dishwasher and have been very happy with it. We bought the cheapest one with a stainless tub. Very quiet and gets the dishes clean and for the first time EVER most of my plastic ware actually DRIES!
We went with Whirlpool because we bought one for our old house and it was eight years old with zero problems when we sold.
I just read something about paneled appliances being on an upswing but looked like it was specific to very modern and streamlined kitchens.

We did until someone fell into it. Now I am on the fence about it. . I mean who falls into a dishwasher. It is a KitchenAid and I objected to getting it but it wasn't my dishwasher to to order so I got no say in it. It is very quiet. If I get another one I am getting a Bosche.

Do dishwashers not have a heated dry option amy more? I have a Kitchenaid and mine has a dry option, I assume it is heated, you can feel the steam in front while it is drying. You can leave on the low dry, turn it off or have extra dry. sometimes we dont use the dry option, but then some of the dishes come out a little wet. Love the kitchenaid. I will tell you to do your homework in the price range that you can afford. Just because you can afford the low end bosch, does not mean that is what you should get. Bosch for instance has no heat dry or dry on any of their machines. Also, the entry level that we could afford didnt have a completely stainless steel tub. it was just the bottom and part of the sides. The racks also did not glide very smooth. Do some homework and then talk to an appliance person. Ask lots of questions. That is how we ended up with the kitchenaid. what we went in to buy was the low end bosch or a higher end LG. But after some questions and actually touching the machines we quickly changed our minds.

Do dishwashers not have a heated dry option amy more? Our Bosch does not. But it still dries them. The only time I have a problem is if the rinse aid gets really low. But it's rarely an issue.

Miele. So quiet I can stand right in front of it and won't hear it washing.

Do dishwashers not have a heated dry option amy more? Hardly any do. It ruins their energy efficiency rating. You can find them, but they aren't very common.
