I know we've done this one before but I always love reading all the replies about our cute pets. It was just on my mind because at the moment I'm working in the kitchen, getting stuff together to donate, searching cupboards, organizing what needs to go down to the basement from my latest grocery store trip, etc. Our kitchen is TINY. I mean seriously small. Basically a square with a doorway on each side. My dog was fast asleep in the living room where I was sitting before I came to the kitchen. I get up to go start working in there and almost immediately there she is standing in the doorway staring at me. Not sitting, not laying down, just standing and staring... at what? me working? me possibly being abducted by aliens? me sneaking down the basement stairs and out the back door? (as if I could even get the door at the top of the stairs opened without Miss Big Ears hearing me).. Now I'm back in the living room for the moment to type this. She's now back in her bed all curled up, although her eyes are opened and she's watching me. In a minute I'm going to be walking back and forth to the bedroom, the linen closet, and the outside trash can, to put some things away. That ought to be fun. I'll go into the bedroom and she'll park herself right in the doorway, better to trip me as I come out. It's no wonder she sleeps so well once I finally sit down... she's exhausted from keeping her eyes on me.

Oh yeah. Mine too. He’s a little shihtzu and he never rests — if I’m moving, he’s moving. And staring. And hoping I’m leaving, I’d imagine, as he will then get a treat. Or hoping I’ll sit so he can sit.

Yep. With the dog still being young (almost 6mos) we spend a lot of time together, usually in the kitchen (we don't allow him to roam the house unattended, he's had a couple accidents and gets into everything ). If I'm sitting at the island he's fine laying down near me, but if I get up to walk to the fridge he's right there. Put a dish in the sink? He's up. Go to the bathroom, he follows. Not a moment of peace around here.

My little Luna (a 60 lb boxer) won't go to bed until I tell her it's bedtime. She'll sleep on the couch waiting, but will NOT go to bed with my husband. lol. Every day at 11:00 - 11:30 and about 2:30-3:30 she'll come over to me for my forced hug. I don't complain too much. Except she's a licker.

We were recently at the vet and he commented that my dog was like a duck who'd imprinted on me. He literally just sits behind my elbow and watches me.
My family says he sits and waits on the back of the couch looking out the window for me if i'm gone. The day that was really over the top for me was when I pulled in and there he was in his window...but someone had dropped by so there was company in the kitchen. My kids said he came out to greet them, then went back to waiting for me. I was shocked he'd give up attention to go watch for me.

Our Bella cat used to move around the house with you. Now she's 12 and fat and likes to conserve her energy more. She still follows a bit. At the end of the night she moves from the living room and sits on the floor at the end of the bed and won't hop up (tall bed) until one or both of us climb in because sometimes I'll wash up in the bathroom then go back to the couch. She doesn't want to claw her way up there just to have me not go to bed. I have a throw pillow I put down the length of my back otherwise she rolls and flops around and wakes me up all night.
Milo cat well he's not a mover. He picks a day spot and stays there for 6+ hours. Then he seems to have an late afternoon evening spot for another long stretch. We'll leave for hours and come back and he's still in the same spot.

Awww, y'all are making me miss my boys. One of them used to have to be on me at all times as a baby and even quite a bit as an adult. Not in the room...ON ME. Brushing my long hair, he'd move from shoulder to shoulder to get out of the way. On my nose and mouth while I laid down, the side of my face while I slept (front sleeper). Scrapping or on the computer? Pffft. On my hands until I repeatedly moved him. Then he was as close by as possible, which was my regularly my scrapbook supplies. It was so common DH actually buried him on top of a piece of scrapbook paper. Orange, like his spots. We named him Butterscotch after them If I was watching TV or reading he was on my chest. The shower was an exception, he would climb in and sit on the corner of the tub and then require to be picked up as soon as the water was off. Fortunately that is one thing he (mostly) grew out of. He tried to sit on my lap while I was on the toilet but had to settle for the floor in front of me. One of my fave pics of him is when he settled in DH's pants around his ankles while he was using the restroom. I have to admit, especially as a baby, he was spoiled. He would meow at us until we followed him...to watch him eat. We realized what a bad precedent we were setting when he kept trying to get us to watch him in the litterbox.

Stella is glued to me at all times. It's adorable and annoying all at the same time.
I can't tell you how many times I have almost stepped on her because I walk out of the bathroom and she is right in front of the door. You would think she would learn!

My Aussie mix is usually in the room with me. If I am at the stove, we call it kill position. Kill, because I will hit my head and die since she lays down right behind me. Her ears must have been burning, she got up and moved closer to me as I was typing. I can’t post pictures or I would show you all this absurdity.

Mine move around the house with me, but they are OK as long as I am staying in one place. If I am on the couch, both dogs are at my feet. If I climb in my bed, both dogs climb in or rest beside the bed. However, if I am cooking, only one tries to stand under me, and he'd just hoping I drop something.
The cats don't care where I am, until they care.

I have a cattle dog and I am his cow. A herd of one. Sometimes the constant supervision wears on me, but I try to do everything right lest I get the wet nose on the thigh or the nip on the elbow.

Mine are glued to me when I'm in the kitchen cooking. I can't tell you how many times my life has flashed before my eyes because I've almost tripped on them and impaled myself on a knife I was holding or knocked myself unconscious on the Keurig. Death by Cocker is a real thing people.

This is my granddog, Finn. When DD is home, he's with her. When DD is not home, he follows me everywhere. The only time he leaves me alone is if he can get my big dog to play or my kitten comes out to play. I have stepped on him more times than I can count.

I have mostly had herders and they have all been velcro dogs (need to be in the room or at least see me). My little pup also sleeps in bed with us and 9 nights out of 10 I wake up with her tucked into my face. Thankfully she has a very cute hiney.

DD's dog even peeks in the shower curtain to make sure she's still there!
He's a rescue that doesn't let her out of his sight. He'll grab one of her shoes and sit with it on the couch when she's in the bathroom. We think he thinks she can't leave if he has her shoe.

I have a 100lb German Shepherd with no spatial awareness. AND he's learned to open doors, so he likes to sit with my while I use the bathroom. My toilet is in a WC, so there's barely enough room just for me in there!

I remember one Thanksgiving sitting on their super long couch next to my mom and Granma, with Bridgette laying across all 3 of our laps!

We had to work hard to get our Chi to "share the love" - she imprinted quickly on DD, which drove the other kids mad. She's better now (we've had her 2 years), but periodically she'll follow one person around 24/7.
I am the lucky recipient right now. Our bathroom door doesn't latch easily, which isn't a problem since everyone in the house is mature enough to respect a closed door, but lately she's been pushing it open with her tiny snout so she can sit by the toilet until I'm done. And the door is not reachable from the toilet, so there I sit, in all my glory, hoping nobody passes by!

another Aussie/velcro dog here. He is most always very near unless out patrolling the perimeter or chasing things. (he's at my feet now). But he was never so much so a velcrodog as after his recent rescue/kidnapping when he spent the night 20 miles from home. I awoke to thisinches from my face. He soon resumed his outdoor adventures but for the first day back I found him more than once outside literally lying up against the house. Goofball. I'm glad you got him back and he got you back! What a sweet face eta: that is how I woke up most mornings. With his face next to mine on the pillow.

Such sweet stories and really makes me miss my Pippy boy (my avatar)!!! He was my shadow. Everywhere I went, he went. Used to drive my husband bonkers when he would hold the leash because Pip would stop and wait for me if I was a few steps behind. As soon as Mom was next to him, he would happily keep going. When I left the house he would lay facing the door until I returned. After he lost his eye, we used to joke that he could only keep one eye on me, LOL! He would have laid on my lap or on my feet all day if he could. Sometimes it drove me nuts how clingy he was, but mostly he was just the sweetest, loving boy. It's been almost 2 years and I still miss him every single day.

My cat, Ella sticks pretty close to me. She usually stays in the same room, and if I'm not feeling well she stays very close, usually laying curled up so that her back is touching me.

Cursing at him (where the hell did the dumbass go? etc) with tears in our eyes. We're all sorts of messed up.

dewryce it's funny she does that to Dh,in the morning. She comes up and puts her nose in his ear to let him know. She doesn't do it to me, but he sleeps on the side closets to her and the door. Her other spot is right next to the table where were cooking it's an open kitchen so if we're cooking she has to be right there stalking us

When they wanted something early morning they'd wake him up because I didn't stir. Worked for me. But poor DH, at 6'5" as you can imagine his feet always end up poking out of the bottom of his blankets. If he didn't get up as politely requested by the youngest cat, his toes became fair game and the cat would bite/nibble them. PLurker Nah not messed up, just good pet people!

My smaller dog is a Velcro dog. The larger dog could care less where we are. The smaller one goes where we go. If you close a door on him, he will wait on the other side until you open it. He is not DH's therapy dog, DH is the dog's therapy human. I have to admit though, when I was sick a few weeks ago, he diligently kept an eye on me. Not in his usual Velcro way but in a caring, watchful way. It was nice.

You mean like me and my goofy dogs in my bed oh yes and no matter what size they are they squish your or wanna spoon you! sometimes if Pia has really good puppy dreams it's not her snoring but her legs start going! She's tried to kick me off more then once, but she's a big dog! She also doesn't know her size, our vets asked us that cause she always wants to sit in his lap if we're talking . he says 'does she realize she's her size?! no no I don't think soo!
