I re-downloaded the app today after paying for it (ugh) and uninstalling it a day later a couple of years back. What's up with the kit search? Do you really have to scroll through ALL the kits to find the one you want? Am I missing a search function here? I downloaded it on an Android device. The app feels archaic to me. I played around with it for a bit and couldn't figure out how to organise my layout templates or kits so that my faves would show first. I couldn't search for a kit by name or figure out how to get beyond the basic scroll fonction to access the other kits. It was a hawt, outdated mess. I'm a freakin' millennial: it should not be this hard for me to figure it out if the functions exist. I left it thinking to myself: " This is the app that Becky's crying about with all the major updates, "you guys"? Seriously?" It’s because you can’t do any of that stuff on the app. I would love to favorite kits or templates. If she wants people to use the app, she needs to work on making it better.

It took foooooorevvvver for them to even get it on Android. Her excuse was that with iPhone it’s only platform/device for the developer and with android, there are hundreds of device it can be on. I don’t know anything about it but I know my sil uses her phone to work remotely and her employer changed something they tried to tell her she had to have an iPhone and she wasn’t having it. Eventually they figured out how to update for droid. So I do believe there’s a certain amount of laziness when it comes to apple vs Android.

Dh has bee able to have apps on both droid and apple with no issues. But those apps were made for both to work together. Becky just says "well did you back up the files" which to me says you can go between both ?

If that is the case it is a brand new development because she normally states over and over and over again that if you purchase a kit on iPhone you have to repurchase it on Android and vice versa

I got the app during an Android sale for like 10 cents. Never spent more than that dime because the app sucks. The only thing I use it for is if I'm doing photo editing and printing from my phone. I collage my pictures together. I'm sure there are better apps, but I have this one I can't be bothered to go find another.
But it is clunky and dated at this point. She never cared to have it on Android. She's an Apple user who doesn't understand that most of the world uses Android or why her followers wouldn't come to her platform. At least that was always the feeling I got when it finally came to Android after so much begging.

I found a discussion of the differences in app development for Android vs iOS"It’s faster, easier, and cheaper to develop for iOS – some estimates put development time at 30-40% longer for Android. One reason why iOS is easier to develop for is the code. Android apps are generally written in Java, a language that involves writing more code than Swift, Apple’s official programming language. Another reason is that Android is an open source platform. A lack of standardization means more devices, components, and software fragmentation to account for. Apple’s closed ecosystem means you’re developing for a few standardized devices and operating systems. That said, the Apple App Store has stricter rules and quality expectations and a longer review process, so it may take longer for apps to be approved. Your app may even be rejected if it’s not up to Apple’s standards."It went on to talk about how Android users are less likely to update their OS regularly (which can lead to glitches when people are running updated apps on old OS) and they're also less likely to pay for in app purchases ($$$) so it makes sense that a lot of developers are more likely to focus on Apple. Not excusing BH who should be investing in keeping the app working on both platforms to serve the largest pool of users if she's pushing it as the solution to everyone's problems. It sounds like a pretty sucky app though... I was surprised when I heard some limits on it even within iOS - I've forgotten what it was now, but I was pretty stunned that they didn't have a pretty basic functionality (maybe it was switching between iPad and iPhone? sigh.

No search because it is supposed to be simple, ha, ha. But if the only way she makes money with the app is by selling kits, she should make it easy to find the kits you want. (Yes, I realize that now she makes $ by prints and her new backup service now.) what? search is a basic necessity. She obviously doesn't understand the meaning of the word simple. and if you can't find what you want surely that's going to discourage you from buying more, since the more you have the less you're going to be able to find what you're looking for.

Yep! It is gonna take a lot for me to buy another kit because I find it frustrating to browse through all the kits to find what I want. And I am not going to be like some people and print out pages and pages of the card indexes from her website.

This is definitely the case. When my old company was developing an app, we did it for Apple products first because it was significantly more simple and less expensive. I think it took us a year after that one was released to develop the one for Android. And this was a huge, household name company with deeper pockets than BH. I can fault BH for many things but the Android app and its updates are not something I completely blame them for.

Worldwide there are more android users, but in the US there are significantly more iPhone users. There has also been market research done on who is more likely to have each device and richer/more highly educated people are more likely to have iPhones, and thus more likely to buy in app purchases. Users per country Demographics of users

I find this particular conversation ironic because I've been waiting for about 10.5 hours now for an app I play to do an update (it's one of those 'we pull the servers down and it doesn't exist until the update is done' type of apps) and the update was available immediately in the play store, but apple is holding up the update for iphone users and the developers won't put the servers back online until all players can access the game at the same time, lol.
I know it's not about the development of the app, but still...it's not common that apple is the one causing the hangups.

The app had many limitations that Becky ignores every time there is an update. She doesn’t listen to things customers request, rather she tells us how lucky we are when she makes a decision for us. There are several key limitations in the app (ability to reorder your folders once they are created is my main gripe) but with every update we hear that Devin (the developer) is so good and so busy and we are lucky to get anything. It’s already into April and the update that includes April cards isn’t yet available. They always act like the first of the month is a surprise.
I’m looking for another app to use, but unfortunately besides Affinity there isn’t a ton available for use on a mobile device.

BH had Keri (Kari, Carrie, Cari?) do the new app announcements in BH's stories on IG. She, Kari, is so professional, well thought out prepared "speech". It was so refreshing!
BH needs to let Kari run with all PL social media. Make a totally separate professional account dedicated to PL. BH can keep her BH "company" account, keep on with all her non-scrapbooking posts (podcast, beddiez, wrapping paper, hiking etc), proselytizing, and crying.

^^ that They said those files are different from other files in the app. There is still functionality if you had already started on a card. That will be going away "by July". The designs will be free on the digital PL site to download. But you would need a program to edit.

Well, my app comment stirred up some talk. Anyhoo, yes, iOS gets stuff first and quicker usually but Android is not an impossible platform to cater to as many other app developers are proving. Just going to point out A Color Story doing it right when it comes to finding a balance between making money off as many people as people and not spending too much on trying to make sure Android gets all the features iOS does (not the case but all the basics are covered and the interface is fire). I've spent way too much money with ACS whereas with Becky's app, nada, nothing, zilch.
Anyhoo, in my opinion, it's another clear example of how terrible a businesswoman Becky is: 1. The app interface is sh*t under iOS as well. I checked with my work phone. 2. Going digital to offer your product in an industry that ships paper is the moment to seduce as many people globally as possible: no impossibly high shipping fees to send a heavy PL kit. Guess what? Nope. Becky stuck and continues to stick to the US audience. All the other countries besides Australia have a dominant Android market. Becky just doesn't care. Again. I can't repeat it enough times or say it loudly enough to get this message across: Becky doesn't care, Becky doesn't care, Becky doesn't care, BECKY DOESN'T CARE. 3. She has no business being a pro on digital stuff. Now that I've figured out she has a contract with American Crafts for their digital sales (and I'm not happy about that), I realise how little she knows or, again, cares about technology (lest we forget all the issues she's had to make her own iPhone work properly and the oh so many IG Stories about how she can't get this or that to work to edit her photos or do mobile PL herself). And how freakishly six to seven years behind all the digital stuff she's responsible for looks like.
Brace yourselves. It's General Conference for the LDS Church this weekend. Whatever the Prophet dictates, Becky will apply to your life and not-so-subtly let her followers know about. At length. Next week on Becky's IG is going to be a hawt mess if he asks they do another digital detox. And the proselytising will go on because that continues to be on the Mormon agenda these days.

She must be deleting comments left and right on her IG because the ones that remain clearly refer to people not wanting a heavy dose of Jesus with their memory keeping needing to just keep scrolling by.

Also, more words to the wise: taking away the voice of people who disagree with what you're trying to shill removes any and all opportunity to successfully convert anyone. In fact, one would imagine that those having their voices muted would be more inclined to become more steadfast in their dissent to the BS you're trying to shove down their throats.
