The current Prophet has already asked for the Mormon women active on social media to do a 10-day fast last autumn. So, I don't doubt for one minute her lack of posting since the debacle is the direct result of being councelled by her husband. It's still an extremely patriarchal religion and no matter how much BH makes me roll my eyes and shake my head, I'm also painfully aware that someone in deep like she is will have to play by the men's rules in the end and submit to her husband. I find it all disturbing and weird. I get that it looks super disturbing from the outside, but for the church formerly known as the Mormon and LDS church, they have toned it down big time over the years. I'm in my 40's and I have seen for the most part, most marriages are a partnership. Yes, there's still those controlling assholes, but that's true with every religion. I honestly don't see her husband interfering in her business. He's a doctor and has his own thing to do. I can see him being concerned about her mental health.
They are constantly changing their doctrine in order to stay more relevant. Two hour church y'all and now you don't have to wait a year to be sealed in the temple if you have a civil wedding. Progress. Oh, and that thing where we punished the children of gay parents? That was just a four year thing. It's all good now. No need for explanation.
Eh, it's different for everyone, but in my family it's a big joke. "I don't know what to do... " Insert eye rolls and laughing.. Well what does your husband say?

Did anyone see BP's IG post? It was about getting to the airport gate 12 min before her flight was to take off (who does that?!). Anyways it was about being mad in the moment and angry and blah blah blah. The final piece was letting go.
The way she worded it, I am wondering if it was directed to BH. ?
Or maybe throwing shade to us SCRAPBOOKERS? LOL Let it go. Let it go. All of Becky Higgins wack a doodle shit. Let it go. ? I mean who wants to be constipated? LOL

If Becky doesn’t come back soon many of her fan girls may go elsewhere. They need someone to fawn over and through whom they can live vicariously. There are plenty of other ‘influencers’ out there who can fill that void. Out of sight out of mind.

I doubt she has that many people who religiously (pun intended) follow her. It's kind of like the LDS church. They say they have 16 million members, but what they don't specify is the active number of members. Huge difference.

Eh, it's different for everyone, but in my family it's a big joke. "I don't know what to do... " Insert eye rolls and laughing.. Well what does your husband say? Totally agree. My husband and I were both born and raised Mormons and were completely believing and active until our mid-thirties, but never did I “submit” to him or ever felt I needed to (submitting to male Mormon leadership is another story). We’ve always been pretty equal partners, in and out of the church. That said, I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s had some sort of mental breakdown or was close enough to it that her husband had to intervene. It happened to me when I was trying to play Perfect Mormon Mommy, and I wasn’t trying to keep my brand afloat as well. In my case I ended up leaving Mormonism, and while that didn’t make my life perfect it did improve the quality of my life and mental health immensely. I can’t see BH going down the same path though, at least not publicly.

She should teach a class on how to run a business into the ground! She seems to have it down pat 🙄 Co-taught w/April Foster. How to take a multi-million dollar business, sh#( all over your customers, and whine that "no one scrapbooks anymore, amIrite, Becks?" "too true, April"

Hi all! Newbie here, been reading this thread very curiously for the past week IG debacle. Just a quick note to say, I've messaged BH over the years and usually get answered back. I can go back to those messages and see when she was last active on IG. And as of now, she was active 2 hours ago. So she is NOT 'away' from social media, but as most probably suspected anyway, just lurking. This is very interesting to me. I checked IG and can also see when she was last active (bc I have messaged her before), and it currently says she was active 25 minutes ago. 😳 Clearly she is still around, just choosing not to post. How does that saying go? “Dance with the one who brought you?” I feel like scrapbookers made her who she is in terms of her career today; however, when occasionally a customer would ask about the shirt she was wearing or earrings, etc. she thought *everyone* was interested in something different then the REAL product she offered. Unfortunately, she branched out in that direction instead of sticking with her bread and butter. It’s too bad she doesn’t realize this. Her products, marketing, ease of use, etc. have all been excellent and highly regarded in the industry. If she would have just stuck with her scrapbooking items, she could have continued to flourish.

I don't fault Becky with wanting to evolve with how she documents her family photos/stories because I think we've all done the same over the years. Like most people I found Becky through scrapbooking. Of course I've followed her story of being married and raising children. But honestly I'm mostly interested in the scrapbooking aspect. The rest of what she is selling doesn't appeal to me. Maybe it does to others though. I don't wanna buy more crap and I don't need spiritual guidance.
My gut is telling me PL as we know it is ceasing to exist. While that thought really does make me sad......let's be honest......I own enough PL type cards to last me a couple liftimes. I have recently been buying a few extra albums and stocking up even more on some of my favorite divided page protectors. I've seen lots of companies come and go over the last 20 years and PL was bound to be one of them eventually.

I don’t think PL will cease to exist. BH branded PL may end, but scrapping in pocket pages is here to stay. Like all things scrapbooking, there are trends that wane as others rise (planners, travelers notebooks). They don’t die. Multiple photos on a two page spread is the staple of probably 95% of the scrappers at every crop I go to. However, you’d think nobody scraps that way if you follow popular social media.

I was specifically referring to Becky Higgins Project Life brand/company. I heard on a another site that American Crafts was no longer associated with BH and they had referred the customer to BH website to order products. Obviously I don't know if that is the whole truth, but it's definitely not a good sign for BH if it is. Of course maybe she truly doesn't care anymore.

I believe that referral by AC to BH's website was mentioned on this board recently (as well?). Whatever the case, Becky Higgins' partnership with AC was always on quite different terms than the other AC umbrella brands. She wanted to keep control of it and negotiated a special deal. She then started to rebrand Project Life as Becky Higgins. Then her Becky Higgins brand lost PL/SB focus and tried to get into the general influencer game. As far as I'm concerned, that's fine but I don't understand why she keeps hanging on to the "documenting guru" status. One could argue the PL brand would have survived and possibly thrived if BH had a less tight grip over it and let AC take over. AC is doing just fine. They are launching extra products for their thriving brands and renewing the offer very regularly. Heidi Swapp brings out new lines of albums every now and then. AC has tested out the TN system as well. Crate Paper sells out of the scrap favourites (12x12 chipboard, die-cut ephemera) quickly when new lines are launched. I wouldn't be surprised if they had dropped the big core kits a long time ago for premium kits with less cards and far les repetition had they been able to. I guess they're just waiting to see where the majority of their customers turn to in terms of preferred memory-keeping system before they reinvest in a page protector + album line. I wonder how they'll adapt if/when BH does end up breaking up with AC completely (considering BH is still in charge of AC Digitals and still manufactures her kits through AC, I don't think it's happening in the next few weeks or even months).

I think her disappearance on Social Media is because AC has had it with her. She went to far on NSD. A company that is going to make a lot of money on that day will set up and take notice when one of their contracts acts up so badly. I think she burned her bridges with AC. I can see why they no longer want an association. I think they were slowly trying to phase out her brand and this was the final straw. What I have noticed about Becky over the years, even when she was with CK is that her audience shading her does not really bother her. It seems to feed her. She likes it. I am not trying to be mean. She likes an audience. That is fine and that is her thing. For years nobody was really bothered by it. She likes to be the center of attention. She wasn't known in the industry for hurting anyone doing that. Least, I never heard anything. I could be way wrong. When a company parts ways with her. OMG! She seems to take that really hard. She gets defensive, she gets quiet. That's why I think AC finally is done with her. I also think some of our scrap stars are fed up with her behavior too and cutting ties. You know they are not going to talk about it. They are just going to let it quietly phase out. Becky's problem is that she thought she was a legend in this industry. There are a lot of legends in our industry. Next year there will be a new one. The legends fade and new ones become popular. This is an ambitious and cutthroat industry. Think about all our legends ten years ago when we talk about them our new girls say "WHO?" I think Becky was trying to reinvent our industry by this new "documenting" term. I think she believed she had enough clout and popularity it would become a thing. She's not Taylor Swift. We just don't "Shake it Off" The term scrapbook is so broad and fits so many different styles now. I don't really scrapbook any more. I do digital scrapbooking. I am journaler. I put pictures in my journal. Still to this day I say scrapbook instead of journal. It's just habit. If Becky wanted to document that is fine too. She overreached and got pushy about it. She could have done the thing where she was like I have grown and I look at scrapbooking as documenting history. I think of it as documenting because I don't traditional scrapbook any more but I evolved to Project Life, I evolved as a journaler. I think if she went this route then there would have been people who said "Oh, this is beautiful and I can relate." I think she could have had a little following. Instead she told us all to change our minds, follow her lead and she is right and we are stupid and very wrong. I actually do like the word documenting. The way she did it was really screwed up. Now, just wait we will get a documenter that will make it popular.

@amayalylac see thats just it, ‘we’ have no problem with Becky ‘documenting’ Her heart out whatever that means to her. ( I’ll be darned if I know ) the issue arises when she looks down on others or puts others down for doing what she considers ‘the old way’
She’s done this several times over her career, and it’s worn thin. When it was to promote PL or project 365 everyone’s is like, hey she’s just promoting her project. Yes she could have promoted pocket scrapping without so much shade at full page scrapping but it was explainable. This time, no one knows WTF she is promoting so the shade & put downs are just shade & put downs.
Becky go document your heart out, just leave me & millions of other women alone because we like to play with paper. There’s room in this hobby for all of it. None of it is ‘wrong’ or ‘old fashioned’ it’s all just different ways to accomplish ‘documenting’ and if your smart, different ways to sell products. Wether we full page scrap, pocket scrap, journal, art journal, plan or digital scrap we like new things to do it with.
Last piece of advice for Becky, when you figure out what the heck you want to sell us try to let us know without insulting us all because we still like to play with paper or images.

Something funny to me is her calling it “documenting” like that’s some new, unique revelation. When SC cut ties with her, they changed their branded PL kit and called it the “Documenter” kit (and added square corners based on customer feedback). And that was several years ago. So BH is not the cutting edge guru she thinks, she’s (again) behind in the game.
I really think BH’s “documenting” now is writing stuff in one of her pricey notebooks.

According to this event I just saw advertised on another Instagram account, Becky P is a motivational speaker and Wendy H is a life coach. They must be branching out away from BH LLC (not necessarily the person but it’s so confusing when the name of the company is BH). Surviving The Bubble

Then there’s this speaking engagement to LDS influencers, solidifying Becky as a queen. Does anyone know if she made it to this? Or did she bail on it since she’s on her media blackout?

Maybe I missed it but it doesn’t seem Becky has really defined ‘documenting’. Is she journaling? Writing notes? Doing albums with pictures and a few words of description? Guess what, Becky? All of these are scrapbooks. It’s how they used to do it before embellishments were created.

"how video has catapulted her social media" ??!?!?! eeek. Are they sure? Which video are they talking about? The crazy dancing video I could never force myself to watch? or the daily tears on live video?
I'm not even going to touch what "sharing goodness" means.

Wow, almost 2 weeks without a post! I think we should start taking bets as to what her 1st post back will be??
My guess is it will be on some life changing, earth shattering realization about her life where she's gonna spend less time on social media and more time living her best life! Cause the last x amount of weeks let her see things differently when she put down her phone and stepped away from social media and focused on her family......

I guess there are just WAY more people around who want to go listen to a bunch of LDS "life coaches" and "motivational speakers" whose resumes feature being wives, moms, grandmoms, mimis, etc. (See also: Stephanie Nielson, Colin Kartchner) And so much crossover - Jamie Hutchings does Bonneville Communications talk w/BH and the dance party BP and Wendy. The "Do Good Be Kind" merch has been featured on BH's instagram.
Think BH and the wrapping paper will turn up at the dance party?

The crazy dancing video I could never force myself to watch? or the daily tears on live video? Watch them roll out the basic account stats for increase in interaction due to daily presence in IG Stories. Meanwhile, they'll blatantly ignore the backlash, drop in actual product sales and loss of identity for the PL/BH brand.
