When was the last time the Project Life brand had a booth at Creativation? I would love to see Becky and PL produce kits with 25 3x4 cards, 5 4x6 cards, a 4x6 sheet of cute letter sticker on heavy cardstock, a packet of die cuts, one or two sheets of cardstock stickers, and a roll or two of coordinating washi. Create 12 or 15 different themes twice per year using a variety of designers. Priced competitively I think kits like this will do well. With no duplicate cards and a smaller price point, project life could make a come back. This. Plus square corners and single sided patterns with just a plain grid on the back.

So what is a 12x12 Design A page PL scrapper to do? Stock up on Design A PPs, where I can find them, and have a half dozen PL brand albums put away? It sounds like all of the physical PL stuff is going to be disappearing soon....
I currently have three of the 60 page boxes of PPs and two of the branded BH albums. Guess I need to start stalking Amazon and eBay again.

I said on another thread I took a break. I missed you. Coming back and reading the Becky thread I am just cracking up. She was bawling? I know I am such a horrible, horrible person to find that so funny. You all know I have that kind of humor, lol. Seriously, I think it's really trashy of her to be bawling on her social media where people are really, really suffering right now and worried about major things. canadianscrappergirl Wow, her response to you was just demeaning and belittling. Becky went to a new low. I would have told her so too. Maybe, she thinks that Project Life items are not viable it doesn't mean Project Life merchandise is dead. I know a lot of non PL artists that love the size of those cards, or the page protectors for their journals as examples. You have a core group of non-scrappers that use these things like junk journalers, planner girls, smash bookers, cardmakers as another example. If she was really concerned about her focus groups then she would understand what those focus groups would want. With her new journal obsession then journalers should be about this focus group she is talking about right? Journalers love Project Life cards. A lot of them don't know what those cards are but they love them anyway. I am always seeing hauls of girls talking about their little cards they just bought from other companies. For instance "Oh, look at these cute little cards I got from Pink Paislee!" I don't really scrapbook anymore and went into journaling so I should be Becky focus group. I can tell you she has nothing that excites me. I am still buying a lot of cards but of course not Becky's. I am realizing her focus group is Becky. Not anybody else. She has gone to a new low. I don't know what is going on in her personal life but I remember Becky was always privileged but she wasn't a mean girl. Sound like she wants to be one now. Personally for me being a mean girl is not cultivating a good life. If she wants to get out of Project Life because it's something she doesn't want to do any more that is great. She doesn't have to be act this way or being forceful about her other merchandising. She's not the first scrapper that left the industry and went to something else. A lot of those girls are a success in their new industry and still have their old fan clubs. Becky is becoming the Titanic.

So does the majority she’s talking about not follow BeckyHiggins llc on Facebook? I skimmed through all 453 comments on that post asking for feedback and every single person except for about 2 wants more memory keeping. Several said they liked the notebooks, even less like the wrapping paper. Some people commented more than once, but still who is this mystery majority that wants to dress like Becky?

One the idea of Becky as a mean girl... I noticed in her Instagram story the other day that she got a little bitchy when she was doing a home tour and was in what will be her new home office. The space is unfinished, and there is one exposed cinderblock wall that she pointed at and said "that's staying just like that... Some people have asked if it's going to be painted or finished. Nope. Nope my friends it's going to stay just like that with all the intention." Her tone of voice was really mean spirited. I'm not sensitive; I like sarcasm. But 1) it didn't match her home office sunshine branding efforts and 2) if you're talking about fans on Instagram askiing you questions, don't treat them like shit.
Perhaps Becky is sublimating the fact that she failed. With all the intention, she blew it with PL products.

Heidi Swapp just released a bunch of new kits with Joann's. They are exclusive and some of them look super cute!
One thing that I've noticed is how much Heidi is promoting her products in a really fun and inspiring way. Nothing about her posts are sanctimonious or "look at me I just invented the greatest thing EVER" or insincere. She seems genuinely excited about her new kits and she's sharing how to use them.
Most of the time when I'm reading Becky's posts she comes across as doing us, the consumer a favor. Like she has this talent (or gift) that she is graciously sharing with us and we should be so lucky to buy her app/digital products/physical products/whatever. She doesn't use her own products or she share how she uses them, but we should all buy them because she is sharing her talent with us, dammit. It's a completely different way of marketing and selling, and Becky's way isn't working for me. Heidi's new products with Joann's aren't groundbreaking, but they are cute, functional, a great price, and customers are already begging her to release them globally (right now they are only available in the states).
Becky needs to get off her holier than thou soapbox and come back to reality. She has a great concept and a solid fanbase. There is no reason Project Life should be failing.

I almost brought up Heidi Swapp on my last post. This is what I really, really, really do not get about Becky and this focus group thing.
Heidi released a wide variety of cute fair priced products that fit an array of paper crafters. She has the journaling community, the planner community, scrapbook community, embellishment makers, etc, etc, etc...She gets excited and happy when her products are loved. She listens to feedback. She is the darling of American Crafts & her fan base is huge and massively loyal.
Becky is with the same company. So you would think she be listening to the same company she works for and the artists that represent them. You have Heidi, Amy, Lizzy, Shimelle all working for AC and they know their focus groups which are the same focus groups as Becky's!!!! These ladies are getting it and giving us products we want and even they would want. They are also growing as artists and individual women who know what their needs are and their focus group's needs are. All their styles are different than one another.
There is Becky, the lone wolf! Telling her focus groups that they are wrong, always wrong and she doesn't care about them as customers. She's getting irate because we don't want her recipe cards? We don't want her cultivated life?
I write all this because I do hope that their are the marketing spies reading this. Becky does not fit American Crafts any more. They need to let her go. I think it would be sad but you know companies let go artists all the time and hire new ones to fit the needs of their company. So many of you on DT's know this. You know it's not personal. A lot of you have gone on to bigger and greater things.

I have noticed that a few weeks ago her follower count was 84.1. It's been creeping down and it's 83.9 now. I guess we're not the only ones tiring of oversharing and drama queening. Daily average over the past month: -8 followers and +1 following. That's not quite bleeding (240 lost followers a month only) but she should be careful to not let it slip to -500 followers/month.
ETA: No more physical products would mean Becky Higgins gets dropped from American Crafts, right? They wouldn't keep her brand just for digital PL kits.

This is a post I made on the ' Home' thread 2 years ago. "If you look at BH's average like per post (~500) out of 70K followers, that rate is .007 or .7% - with primarily the largest # of likes being on product related posts but only about 300 for the HOME stuff. If you look at Amy Tangerine (as one example) she gets on average about 1000 likes per 79K followers. That rate is .012 or 1.2% - almost twice as high. If you look at Shimelle as another example, she gets about 300 likes per 11.8K followers or about .025 or 2.5% almost 4 times as high. So the bottom line is # of followers <> engagement per follower <> purchases per follower. " I looked it up to see how followers have grown for the 3 I quoted at the time: BH, Amy & Shimelle BH - was 70K now 83.9 (call it 84) - Growth rate 20% (14k/70k) Amy Tangerine - was 79K now 182K - Growth rate 130% (103/79) Shimelle - was 11.8 now 16.7 - Growth rate 41% So, Amy and Shimelle are both growing gangbusters compared to Becky. Shimelle doesn't even use her IG a lot. And she's growing at twice the rate of Becky. So all the ad nauseum sharing may not be Becky's best bet. But, she and her fangirls won't listen.

@zingermack 3 freakin' posts per day and I'm not even going to attempt to guess the daily IG Stories average. Becky is exhausting herself (and her followers) online by being constantly there and making noise. She's a pot-banger and nobody wants to pay for her lack of rhythm. What I'm really curious about is the sales report from AC. It's got to be terribly bad for them to retire Design A page protectors (which still sold well, I thought, so probably just slowly phasing her products out?). How did we get there? #rhetoricalquestion

I totally agree with the thoughts regarding Heidi Swapp. One of the thing I like about her is that she is actually excited about her products. I know she has a tendency to be all over the place but that’s one of the things I like about her. She has a diverse line of products and she doesn’t promote one over the other, she shows why each product is useful. Becky made me feel stupid for still using paper products when apparently we all should be using her app instead.

Agree, I love Heidi. She always keeps it fresh. I love what she is doing with the custom wall words. I also appreciate that she isn't constantly trying to sell me clothes, etc (at least not that I've noticed) even tho I think her style is way better than others in the biz.

I love her handwriting (in small doses, that is why I don't subscribe to Ali because I know I would get to death of her handwriting).

Scrapbook.com has a handful of new products listed as coming soon from Becky. They have 2 value kits, 1 core kit, 2 packages of embelishments, and 1 album. Becky should be hyping the crap out of these new products. This is why she is failing in the physical project life category. She will probably barely mention these kits, do a quick video of her flipping through the cards, and then spend 20 minutes talking about what she is wearing (because you know someone will ask) and talking about her new house, all while her business is crumbling all around her.
I get angry when I look at where Project Life is now. It is the very reason why I started memory keeping. Before PL, I barely took pictures, much less printed any of them. This is a concept that could have been great but she did everything wrong.

So to recap: There was the post on December 31 asking what we want (blue background text words) There was a post on January 10 asking what we want (basket mom made giving it away to someone who answered the question) Today (1/14) asking what we want Becky and Becky talk about (pic of the two of them) I feel like this is what my kids do...just keep asking hoping I change my answer.

Becky posted this today on FB:
HELLO NEW CHAPTER // Today is the first day of the first full week of what I am calling a new chapter in the story of BH. And to this day I say — WELCOME!!
I feel good. REAL good, actually. 💛 I also feel like it is timely + relevant to share the “so-far” story of this company, which we are planning to do on the podcast soon. If there are specific questions you are wondering about, let me know so that I can consider that as I prepare.
In the meantime, If you are receiving our newsletter, you will receive an email in the next couple days that outlines the recent happenings and current transition we are in. [ BeckyHiggins.com/Subscribe ]
Any guesses on what the "recent happenings and current transition we are in"? I'm going to guess the physical products side of her business (PL, notebooks, wrapping paper, etc.) is folding completely and she is being dropped from American Crafts. Her business will focus solely on digital PL and her app. Thoughts?

sleepingbooty can you give the ladies up above more info about Design A? craftymom101 good grief, that post is a waste-of-time teaser, isn't it? So much fishing for attention... I have enough vaguebooking in my life already, I don't need it from businesses. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if there isn't very much news at all. And anyway, what questions does she think people will want to know that aren't obvious? - It pretty much comes down to: is your business continuing? will I be able to buy the products I want? where?

joblackford you are absolutely right. She is keeping us all in suspense, for what? She owns a business. It does not make business sense for her own customers to fear she is closing down and find alternative products as a result. The closing of her business center did not need to be the hoopla she made it out to be. She should have created a press release that outlined the closing of the business center and the fate of her existing products. That's it! Answer the questions people are going to have (about the business, not her own personal mid-life-crisis-meltdown about it) and move on. Honestly, this whole this is irritating the crap out of me and doesn't make me want to do business with her or Project Life anymore.

Hi! I’m new here, but I’ve been lurking on and off for a few years now. But I’ve been following the Becky drama for a while now and I’ve been wondering how her faith has been playing into all this. I’ve been wondering if Becky views the alleged failing of her business as something related to her religion... does she see this as God failing her or her not having enough faith. Could this be why she seems like such a mess lately? Also could it be why it seems like she doesn’t really seem to try and run her business - does she think that God is running it for her?
EDIT: Found it!
Also about her website, y’all are right, I just visited her website and there is only one physical kit available for purchase as far as I can tell.

I don't know where you were looking at BeckyHiggins.com but there are lots of core kits listed as well as other smaller kits. I'm thinking I should pick up some of the page protectors that I use the most since hoarding of scrapbook supplies for that "maybe someday" is always a good idea!
