I'm curious about the design A protectors too! Interestingly enough that was the size that AE used exclusively and now that she switched to 9x12 and really her brand of pp, makes me wonder if she had a bit of ESP or inside info so that she knew to switch. Course this could all be in my head 😂

I don't think that she's going to stop making the physical products completely. If anything she is cutting back the variety of kits and offering products only on her website. She might cut back international shipping. I definitely think it would be beneficial to her to stop producing so many different kits/mini kits/etc. that are from unknown designers with uninspiring designs. If she went back to one or two kits per year with a well known designer and actually promoted the kit, it would likely sell. But regardless what she does with kits, I think she sells 12x12 albums and page protectors just fine--I think lots of people are like me and get the page protectors & albums from her, but the cards from other brands. So I doubt those are going to go away--she might discontinue some of the smaller albums. But, even if she does discontinue everything, I feel like we can get them elsewhere... her albums are basically identical to the WRMK ones. I think simple stories & WRMK have made the page protectors in the past. Here is a similar layout available from scrapbook.com. If BH discontinues her page protectors these other companies will jump at the chance and make them more widely available. It's sad that she's spiraling the drain, but project life as a concept will definitely live on. I'm not worried.

Re: page protectors, including Design A possibly being discontinued
Becky Higgins page protectors are no longer carried by big European scrap stores. Some even discounted them to get rid of their inventory in 2018. It's become very difficult to purchase them. Even Becky Higgins LLC no longer offers them on most European Amazon sites (they are still selling the weird configurations that are no longer manifactured by AC). Same for BH's 6x8 page protectors. Something funny is going on. I don't know what it is but it's something. Considering they are still very popular around here, I don't know what's up. It doesn't make sense why scrap stores would no longer carry them.
Simple Stories have stopped manufacturing 12x12 too (albums and PPs) so choice is narrowing. Thou art warned.
Are AC considering rebranding them in the future? Who knows? But something's rotten in the state of Becky H.
BH is still releasing new product (albeing not a lot) with AC. Click is this spring's release and includes a 12x12 album.
ETA: Click collection photos embedded (the embellishments look like they're trying to capture the early successes of kits like Liz Tamanaha's Everyday PL line which was so pretty and timeless).

I do not think American Crafts will continue to manufacture her stuff if they are moving backwards in terms of volume and sales. If she can go back to her earlier business model and be able to find a manufacturer, producing a few kits a year (without so many repeated cards, she might be able to thrive in the physical product area. But I wonder if she has the will for that kind of slog, or if she's moved on to other things. The manufacturing side is the key. Maybe she could partner with Inked, but, that's a different beast.

No no no. A little treat is a brownie sundae or a pic of young Kyle McLaughlin. It will never be a glimpse into Beggy's house.

Poor Wendy. She sounds like she actually wants to do work vs. have a sorority party.

New Instastory with a "team meeting". Really not hard to figure out the reasons behind the downward trajectory of the biz. I have no idea what I just watched. An all girls slumber party complete with fancy foods? That right there is why the business is doomed. Also, I met BH back in 2012, and she didn’t act like that. The people who are currently surrounding her are tanking her business. Wow! ETA: I think in general that working with friends who agree with everything you say is not good for business owners. I see the same thing happening with AE and Katie. Neither business owner have employees who push back.

I agree something is going on with Becky. The party..I couldn't finish watching it. What happened to professionalism?

That collection loves LOVELY. I would totally buy it somewhere. With a coupon or on sale, of course.

Not only does she look like a 12 year old having a slumber party, she is publicly criticizing her friend and how she has her frames hung. Seriously. Who cares?! And then discussing that her brand probably only has two emails from consumers that are waiting to be answered? Why not just put a billboard saying your brand is dead and no one cares?

If she is trying to be like Amy Tan, she sucks at it. Then again, I unfollowed Amy something like 2 years ago because I don't need to follow a IG feed that essentially little more than a constant advertisement for anything that she can make money on. I don't care to follow a scrapbooker and see her get paid to go on vacation or shill popsicles.

Becky needs to get over herself. That video was ridiculous. I don’t want to watch video ‘meetings’ with her fan girl staff. I don’t want to see pictures of her new house or hear about her adventures in sandwich burnings. What I do want to see is pictures of designs made with her PL products but that never seems to happen. Seriously, when was the last time she actually did a layout with physical product? This is why I don’t follow many scrap celebs. If there are more ‘look at me’ posts than there are creative ones I’m done. Unfollow.

artisticscrapper she doesn't use her own physical products and has said so many times. I honestly believe that is one of the many reasons why the PL brand is failing. If PL is so wonderful and awesome and fantastic and we should all buy it, then why isn't the owner and creator using it?

While I get that it no longer works for her if she is going to keep the physical aspect of her brand she MUST partner with some one (ie a design team or even just one person) that can regularly showcase the physical product in a professional manner on a REGULAR basis.

The first I ever heard of PL was on HSN. This was years ago when PL was pretty new. Was Becky on HSN marketing her lastest system? Of course not. Her friend Lisa Bearnson* was selling it for her, as well as doing demos. I don’t think BH has ever been all that connected with her product.
*For those who are new to scrapping Lisa was a big time scrap celeb and helped the hobby to become huge.

Actually by the time Project Life hit HSN, it was the beginning of the end. PL wasn't new, it was at the time Becky sold out to AC and they started mass producing several kits at a time. Before then, she had one release a year and the quality was much higher. Things started to unravel after the sell out to AC with many loyal customers being turned off by the quality and production issues. If I remember, Becky had a meltdown about that too - something went wrong on HSN and people were PISSED. She was crying way back then. I don't know why Lisa distanced herself from PL and stopped doing the HSN presentations...but that fizzled quickly. I think after 2 appearances.

I know I've linked the video of the slap heard around the world on this board but I can't find it. It wasn't a full on angry slap. It was just weird and made things awkward. I guess I didn't realize she was selling PL on that show.

This doesn't sound like Lisa - she seemed so nice! Oh yeah. She tried playing it off later, saying she was kidding, but she was serious about it. She was already being rude and snippy the QVC show, then she slapped him. She then went away from QVC and later tried to come back to scrapbooking but people were done with her

Okay - to be clear this slap happened BEFORE she was shilling PL for Becky on HSN. HSN (a different network from QVC) must have agreed to have her on for her "comeback" with PL offerings but maybe it didn't work out. I would say she was on HSN around 2013-14. I have seen PL sold on HSN since, but it's been by a different host.

It was really weird. He was gracious about it, but she was never invited back!
