The whole "minimalism" trend seems to be full of extremely rich housewives throwing away a lot of their stuff and then buying new, sleek and expensive, stuff. I like the idea in theory, but in execution, it seems to be more about buying new stuff to replace your old stuff than actually reducing what you own/repurposing stuff you already own. |

So I have sat idly by the last few months as BH has taken her business and thrown it down the tubes.
Yes I know the "scrapbook culture" is changing but I cannot agree that that is what is driving the downfall of Project Life.
Her latest podcast is LET’S TALK ABOUT MEMORY KEEPING! a Q & A session and I am 15 minutes in and I'm completely turned off and ready to yell at the podcast.
BP is explaining BH's lack of inspiration on social media is and I quote "teaching you to be self sufficient in your documenting". you are trying to sell a product! You want to know why its not selling because you are not talking about it. I want to look them in the face and tell them. I want to give you my money.
Also she did admit that it was not her personal decision that production stopped on physical. "another collection could never be produced and you can go to shop becky higgins and you can find what you need". urgh.
And then she praises those that have evolved with her. Im beyond annoyed.

Other companies have no issue producing new ‘collections’ month after month and selling them ( with square corners to boot ) so it wouldn’t be an issue selling product
IF PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT THE COLLECTION & WHAT WAS IN IT!
As an example how many people are now terribly interested in the click kit now that a CUSTOMER has bought it & shown what is inside?
Pocket scrapping isn’t going anywhere you just need to
A - provide a product people want
B - let people know it’s out there, where to get it & maybe some examples of how to use it

My favorite is that when customers criticize the COMPANY for not advertising their product and she gets all defensive about people wanting her to be something she is not. Umm no we just want to buy product that this company produces and expect the company to advertise said products.
She is making it too personal (and I get that it is a personal brand). There's the business and there is her. In her mind they are the same and that's where the problem lies.
Also someone else mentioned that she is acting like a hobbiest vs a business woman. And I totally agree. If you were new to her you would never know that her products were in big box stores and she had multiple partnership with large industry brands before. She comes across as just another fly by the night influencer trying to make a buck on her hobby. It is sad to see.
Now if she had come out and said "I'm need to move on from scrapping. Thank you for supporting me in the past I appreciate.... I'm grateful for all the scrappers who found inspiration with my products... But with the loss of x and the lack of y [none of which should be any reference to her customers] I've decided it is time to close the doors and pursue other areas of interest." I'd respect her as a business woman a whole lot more.
At this time I feel like she is trying to convince her scrapping fans that THEY shouldn't be scrapping; instead they should be joining the Mormon Church, looking to her as a life coach and going to crazy expensive retreats.

I'm grateful for all the scrappers who found inspiration with my products... But with the loss of x and the lack of y [none of which should be any reference to her customers] I've decided it is time to close the doors and pursue other areas of interest." I'd respect her as a business woman a whole lot more. This exactly. And sell the project life name while it still had some value to someone who was going to carry on the brand and work hard to keep it thriving. Everyone would've benefited... the customers and her with that hefty check she could've sold it for, it probably would've paid for her house! |

There's a saying you hear from some members; they can leave the church, but they can't leave the church alone. In my experience, it has been the opposite.
I have a freaking sign on my front door that says no religious inquiries. I'm tired of being nice. I answered the door yesterday and there's a senior missionary couple! Before I said anything, I looked at the sign on the door and looked at them with an evil stare. We're sorry, but...... blah, blah, blah. They wanted to know if my son was still living with us. My son who has not attended church in over nine years!!! Sure, I'll provide you with an address so he can be stalked for the rest of his life.
I usually stay under the radar, but I guess it's time to officially resign. Still, there are no guarantees.  |

It's almost like they forget that DT work isn't primarily meant to be an inspirational source fir the consumer to use with stuff they already own...it is meant to get people excited and want to buy the stuff they are using...i.e. MARKETING. I follow several crafters and a few scrapbook companies on IG. Guess what? The all post about their products. They post cards and layouts from their design teams. They link to blogs and new videos on YouTube. Some even run contests. There are occasional pictures of family but usually it’s tied to crafting. They all promote their products. BH promotes BH. Oh, and whoever’s giving her a discount somewhere for product placement.

Didn't Becky Proudfit say she didn't have much scrapbooking experience when she "joined the team"? Now she's an expert telling everyone to get a life??? This woman is destroying what is left of the PL brand by encouraging her "bestie" to take a break. I have noticed in PL groups people are talking about not getting responses to customer service emails and the emails they get are always, "We are enjoying our families right now..." What?  I gave you my money, send me my stuff!!! I don't understand whey Becky Higgins didn't keep the creative team (make them app based it's basically free) and have them share the heck out of stuff. It's free advertising. She just doesn't understand that business slowed because she stopped sharing product. She has things reversed in her head. |

At the beginning of the latest podcast, she shills her photo class again and says "thousands of people" have taken the class. Seriously? Thousands? And if true, that class went for $97 a pop at full price!
She said not selling physical PL was not her "personal decision" but due to supply and demand. Then BP has to pipe in about the physical product like she has any clue. It is so bizarre!

My Joanne’s had rad & snapshots for square cornered kits I guess I watched that click kit a bit too long lol. I picked up snapshots. I almost went with Rad but I would be buying the entire kit for the dog card & it looks nothing like any dog I know lol.
There are several mini kits with square corners I got stories & chasing dreams

From what I've seen of the home I like the overall look except for the tile choices, especially in the basement kitchen. I would love to have a modern home with a mix of brick concrete, and lots of clean lines.
I wouldn't pick that color for the kitchen cabinets, but I don't think they are terrible.
