I am still sleepy but have been waiting for the videos from Mixed Media Event to drop so checked in bed as soon as I woke up.
The first quick looks at BoBunny, Crate Paper and Pebbles' Christmas 2018 lines are up! If the time stamp for the video below doesn't work, skip right to 1:20.
A quick few (sleepy) thoughts: - "Coming out this fall" Really? That seems very late. Crate Paper's Falala Christmas line had been fully shown by mid-June last year and was in the stores by August. Waiting until late September to release the lines seems like a dangerous idea.
- Crate Paper, the trendy brand, seems completely lost with their Christmas collection this year. The quirky cohesiveness that was present for both Falala and Snow & Cocoa does not come across from this first sneak. The papers look drab, dare I say. I might bite for the chipboard sheet but I'm not at all excited by what I've just seen. Disappointing to say the least. - Pebbles' Cozy & Bright has an awesome set of (foam, I'm assuming) gold glitter thickers for titles. There's even a "Noel" sentiment in there, yay!
Gossip and judge away, m'dears! I'm off to seek coffee...

Meh. Couldn't see much, but the Pebbles line might be interesting.

Is it just me, or was the video quality really crummy? I could see the hostess but not any of the collections clearly.

I’d love to see closeups of Crate Paper as the last two Christmas collections were amazing! I’m so hoping not to be disappointed because it’s my go to line for documenting during the winter.

Yes, unfortunately, I think the video holder didn't know how to open for a large depth of field until the hostess starting showing all the Halloween stuff. It's better wide screen, high quality, but what a pity. sleepingbooty Now that's devotion. Thanks! Let me buy you a coffee in the nearest virtual break room.

I like the bo bunny Christmas in the village
Pebbles might be cute and the Thickers words looks good
Crate paper looks so disappointing

I want a £1 for every time she says 'we've got'! And yeah, I couldn't see anything so I skipped forward loads. Thanks for sharing though sleepingbooty, I definitely want a closer look at some of those.

Apologies for the obvious focal depth issues! I was just so freakin' excited to get a first (granted, poor quality) look at these lines since American Crafts is so late to the Christmas game this year. I haven't been able to find other MME videos (yet)... Fingers crossed we get a better look at these collections soon.

Let me buy you a coffee in the nearest virtual break room. "Garçon !" *snaps fingers* (I could do with one right now, mind you *le yawn*)

Samesies. The papers don't look good at all. The stickers and 12x12 chipboard seem more than ok though. I'm just happy now that I hoarded every leftover bit from last year's Falala...

wish i could see more of the crate stuff; seemed to me the best look was at bo bunny and i pretty much always always think they're hideous the gold puffy (?) stickers from crate look promising! i agree about the pebbles word thickers too, yum! i stopped when she moved onto halloween because even though it's my favorite, i just don't have any halloween pics!

Im not counting Crate out just yet. I think the hostess wasn't very interested in showing the Crate stuff at all.And don't get me started on the videographer not actually focusing on the product vs. keeping the camera on the chick. So Im not ready to mark it off my list just yet. A huge NO on the Bo Bunny. And I don't care about Halloween at all.

I was so looking forward to crate paper christmas collection. Knowing it would be available later this year is so not helpful.

Arrgh! I loved Crate Paper's last two Christmas lines and was hoping for another really good one this year. Not impressed at all. The spokesperson didn't seem impressed either since she practically skipped over it.

Apologies for the obvious focal depth issues! No need to apologize! Thanks for sharing this seeing a little bit is definitely better than not seeing anything.

It's no Christmas collection but PSA for the Crate Paper fans: CP is offering a free lemon tree printable from their newest Maggie Holmes line, Willow Lane.

Who were the shaker stickers from? I liked the Pebbles puffy stickers and the candy cane thickers!

So, if I remember correctly Shimelle has explained that AC cycles through their different Big Name Designers to release a Xmas collection each year (which is why we only had that one Shimelle Christmas line several years ago). Does anyone know if that's still how they're doing it and which designer they're doing this year?

here's another crate paper video click and still no good look at the paper! unless you count the "gift wrap book" the more i see of it, the less i like it. definitely loving those puffy gold phrases and the cute shaker embellies though!

It totally looks like the Maggie Holmes “Willow Lane” designer created the “Merry Days,” collection. I’d love to see the papers but as of now I only want a few things from the collection. It’s definitely a retro, folk aesthetic this year.

stinkerbelle Thank you so much for sharing the video! Oh no, oh crap, I actually *do* like it. It's folksy with a hipster vibe, very Tina Aszmus-y. I still seriously dislike that one Santa head design (the other one is totally fine) but all the rest is surprisingly very me. I'm shocked at how good a match it is both thematically (ballerinas unite: Nutcracker + Swan Lake references!) and overall aesthetics. I do wish we'd have a lighter colour besides that not-bright white to balance out the red and extremely dark navy blue. Otherwise, me gusta. Definitely getting a few papers, the chipboard and ephemera pack. This collection is near perfection for scrapping my childhood Decembers in JYC this year.
Embedding the scrapbook.com video stinkerbelle tracked down and kindly shared:
ETA: The dark background floral/winter vegetation composition reminds me so much of that iconic paper in Basic Grey's beautiful Juniper Berry line...
