I'm not one to experience a lot of FOMO, I'm not competitive, I buy some things and not others, etc, etc etc. If my reordering makes you think less of me...well then bless your heart. or Whatthefuckever. Your choice. I think it's kind of obnoxious for people to blast others when it has nothing to do with them.
If anybody is interested...I placed my first order for the kit and album. I didn't get a confirmation number. I did not get a confirmation email. It did not show up on my bank account. I placed my second order of a couple embellishments about 10 minutes later and was charged for the $5 shipping a second time. With the second order I did receive a confirmation number and email immediately and saw it in my bank account immediately. All of those things combined led me to believe my first order did not go through. Given the history of THIS particular site and sale, I don't think it was too much of a stretch to think that a) there was a problem and b) things would sell out relatively fast as they have in the past. So I placed a second order where I *did* get a confirmation number, a confirmation email, it showed up in my bank account and I was not charged shipping. You know...they way they said it would work.
I emailed asking for a refund of my duplicate order and they responded that they would stop it and refund my money. If they had not done that, I would have tried to dispute it with my credit card. I don't think I'm over the top in any way on this. The system did not work like they said it would. I'm glad they 'saw' that and decided to give refunds.

impearia I got a notification to say the variety 6x8 pack is back in stock at Scrapbook.com! Thank you anniefb ! Of course now I have put in my Ali order but it was a good back up plan. And I am sure others reading this thread might want some too!
I put in my Ali order. Yeah, I am a basic bitch what can I say? I can say I hate working with digital stuff and I am just too lazy to make my own cards. Plus my printer is fickle and I can never print with it on super thick card, it gets grumpy on me.
nicolep your die cut shapes look amazing!
So I ordered: Main kit; Jingle all the way grey album; Jasmine's specialty cards; 3x8 transparencies; sale gold 6x8 transparency (50 cents!). I was one of those whose first order did not appear to go through. I contacted CS and they told me my order was still processing, but that my inventory was indeed held and I did not need to make another order for those items.
I might be one of the few who actually like that golden yellow type colour! My kids wear school uniforms here (we are in school until almost Christmas here in Australia) and both the primary and high schools have some gold in their school colours. And the Australian National sports colours are green and gold, so there you are. I really loved Jasmine's cards because of the white on white embossing. Even if I don't add anything to them I really like that clean, white on white look. You could probably do a lot of pages in just red, white and black and leave out most of the gold if you hate it.
I made a second order for a friend of some sale stickers, and they charged me for shipping (again). I have since contacted CS and had this refunded.
I broke down and bought the shape chipboard set because I saw the Missing You and my eldest daughter will be away for Christmas this year, and I KNOW I will use that. I like these chipboard much more than the black and gold stars in the main, so I might sell those. I also threw the $2.99 wood veneer in because I thought those were actually a good deal. I love doodle stars.
So I will probably get the 6x8 pad and 12x12 chipboard from Crate Paper Merry Days and call it good.

So the Paislee Press mini sold out

So it’s my fault that I ended up with 2 non-December Daily orders? Nice. When I hit the confirm button it took me to the error screen. No confirmation email. And it didn’t show up in my order history. Was I magically supposed to know it would be coming an hour later? So I ordered a second. And AE or Inked pretty much said tough crap. I’m getting both orders and can send the one back on my own dime...as a courtesy. How kind.
So anyone want a 3x8 gold stripe album and extra inserts?

So the Paislee Press mini sold out It has been showing up again randomly. I saw it sold out earlier, then available and then sold out. But it is a good idea if you really want it to grab it immediately if you see it again.

Just wanted to say that I support you here, don’t think you’re over the top, & didn’t mean to imply that you shouldn’t pre-order/order/not order/barter for /etc whatever speaks to you + works w/ your budget. The ordering system for the DD event has had a massive malfunction of some sort every year since AE debuted her retail site through Inked, so you’re not alone in having to request a refund due to the site not functioning as advertised.

Full disclosure I have not read any of the Facebook posts. I agree that it is weird to handslap someone for spending whatever they want to spend, but also find it super weird that people would disclose online to strangers how much they spent on anything. On a different note I am sorry some people had issues with check out and duplicate orders. Will Inked ever get their poop in a group?! Gah. Wish everyone had the experience I had today. I actually had a surprisingly awesome experience. Hopped on at the opening bell. Ordered the few little bits I liked. I was in and out by 7:05am

Love the KP "Christmas Countdown" sneak, although the orange isn't a typical color I can make it work. I'm just waiting on Jamaica's and In a Creative Bubble. I was going to purchase the December Daily® 2018 Making Spirits Bright 4x6 Stamp Set because I love the font only, not the sentiments that much. So, if anyone knows which font she used please let me know! I can make my own cards and digital stamps. She uses a paid font, but the free version is Novelle Vague Black. I was determined to find it when I saw the kit previews. thank you!!!

Like product isn't that big a deal. But maybe it is to them and I'm just not getting it. But the judgment of people buying more than just the basics or placing 5 or 6 orders happens every year. Which is why I haven't posted what I got there.

I didn’t read a lot of the Facebook page but what I did read people weren’t outraged, they were questioning. The bitchy responses on this thread have been the most dramatic thing I’ve read about the whole thing.

I haven't read the comments on the FB group, but I think that when people start discussing money things always get a little bitchy.
It's one thing if you are listing out what you bought, e.g. "I got the main kit, mini kit, album, etc." yes, people can add that up and figure out what you spent, but who cares? It's fair to share what you picked up or didn't pick up and there is no reason for anyone to judge or negatively comment regardless of if they wouldn't buy that much or that little themselves.
But it does rub me the wrong way when people say "I spent $400 on my orders" etc. It comes off as bragging that you are the kind of person that has $400 to spend on craft supplies in one sitting for one project without having to blink an eye. I am an attorney and so is my husband so we are blessed with plenty of disposable income, but not everyone is in that boat and I definitely wasn't when I was younger and in college... then my scrapbooking budget was meager and I could only dream about being able to afford these types of products.
I just think it's insensitive to put out there in such a blatant way what you can/can't/did/didn't spend on products because there will always be someone who can't afford to spend what you did, even though they wish they could, and all you're doing is making them feel bad about it. So I don't blame the people complaining (although it's probably better for them to not say anything and just not read the comments) as much as I complain the braggers.
Also when it comes to the double orders... I'm sure there are people it happened to that spent $200 and accidentally got double orders for even more and it's not a big deal to them because they have the disposable income so they shrug it off. But being able to do that is a luxury and not something they should brag about. They also shouldn't judge people who are really upset if they got overcharged and are having trouble getting a refund, even if it was only $20, because they don't know that person's situation. They could be someone who really don't have the money for DD but loves the project so much they saved up to have $30 to spend and then got overcharged more than their budget. Who knows...
My main point is, $10 has a very different value depending on who you are and where you come from. To some people it's nothing, they could literally throw it away and not care one bit. To others it could be their entire scrapbooking budget and they would look at it like gold. To others (who probably aren't buying DD products) it could mean the difference between eating dinner or not. When it comes to money, being able to shrug it off and spend it without worry is a luxury that no one should take for granted. And people posting how much they spent or telling others to shrug off the overcharged amounts is just bragging about it.
[[Sorry for the rant... but as a formerly poor person who had to pull myself up by my bootstraps through a lot of hard work I get really upset when people act super entitled. However, like I said, I didn't read the FB comments and this rant isn't directed at any one person in particular, just a general observation... I really hope it doesn't offend anyone!]]

I can understand why people placed multiple orders. If they really wanted something and never got confirmation and it was not "in your box" it would lead me to believe it wasn't really ordered. Considering the website issues every year, I don't think it is a stretch to believe that orders never really went through. I think it would be crappy to post about an obvious problem with the credit card system and then not make those orders right. There's a difference between people making multiple orders because they are just grabbing everything leading to buyer's remorse and the the system by which they designed failed. The whole "what's in my box" list should be accurate. Ali created this FOMO and then it couldn't withstand the load. Why wasn't that in the directions instead of the hand slap? I would dispute it with my credit card if I didn't get a resolution with customer service. I'm just glad I didn't even bother today. RE: orders not going through- I experienced an order showing up as having gone through on one screen, only to have it not appear finalized in my “box” later last year, hence the resubmitting orders makes sense to me. I do not understand why the tech aspect of ordering via AE’s site is consistently so persnickety/non-user-friendly. I have very little experience in Comp Sci, but the existence of the same sorts of issues, year after year, causes me to wonder if whoever is coding the site just doesn’t test it before it goes live. Surely if they were actually trying to debug the site, the abundance of test cases they have which have consistently produced errors would eventually be fixed... Real life experience... 2016 placed order, managed (somehow... first time ever!) to KNOW I ordered an album. I didn't think to double check because, well... I'd been using Ali's site for over a year at that point with no problems. Anyway, got orders and no album! THEN I checked confirmations and invoices, and it never appeared in any confirmation or listed on an invoice. I didn't pay for it, but dang, by then albums were long sold out. 2017 I decided to make albums a priority (I had my 2016 DD in a temp album) So I ordered ONE green album last year, and ONE red album. By damn if I didn't open my box and there was one green album and TWO red ones. WTH. Again I checked and I indeed paid for two red ones. So irritating. So far this year, I got what I wanted and I double checked my "box" afterward to make sure there were no stragglers or hitchhikers. It really is a pain. It's not a tiny home business as they seem to want to make it look. I don't understand why they don't do a better job with it.

Remember me, the one sitting up on a cloud above all the minions proclaiming how I wasn't going to participate in Ali's mess this year??
Yeah....
Not so much.
So I ordered the 3x8 album I was "thinking" about. And the 3x8 cards. And the fabric stars. Only...before I could check out the fabric stars sold out. So when I hit "checkout" as instructed by Ali's email...my whole cart went empty and it showed I didn't have any of the items I selected. Classic.
That's happened to me every year, so I knew to hit the back button and go back to the shop selection and suddenly my cart contents reappeared. I didn't order twice, however I have done this in the past because it looked like my CART WAS EMPTY FOR THE LOVE! It's something that only occurs on Ali's site for December Daily. I really will never understand it or have faith that it is "resolved". However this year I will say I didn't really care all that much if I got the items or not, which helped my overall shopping experience...sad as that is.

Only ordered Brandi's kit from AE. KP's colors are exactly what I wanted this year, so it'll be a matter of narrowing down the options. Wish she'd get on the ball with reveals! I considered signing back up for the sub just to have early access, but she doesn't have month to month available, so that's not happening. :X

Just wanted to let you know that I contacted Studio Calico and asked if they had plans to release any more 6X8 albums. The person said no.
So I guess my options are the navy, the cream (not so DD for me, I prefer white), and the SS one with the striped spine.
I don't know what to choose. So bummed in Ali's albums this year. Just not my style. I have used them for all but one of my DDs so far.
Do any of the other online places that put together kits and the like ever make their own albums?

In June Ali said she was going to have an album release in October. Since they cleared out her black album maybe she's planning to release some new colors? Also don't know if that has changed. SC seems to have stopped making lots of things for their brand. So I didn't like Ali's 3x8 DD album (which I did buy) but I posted in her DD group looking for ideas of other options. Someone suggested covering the album. Could you take the grey 6x8 and cover it with a fabric you like or even a couple coats of paint?

sleepingbooty Simple Stories has a Christmas collection out call Simple Vintage Christmas that has some Santa images I think you might like. Thank you so much for thinking of me! I've already put some papers from that collection on my wish list (and I'll probably buy some more stuff when it goes on sale over here). Unfortunately, still no Saint Nicholas (with mitre) in sight. Oh well, one day, my friend, one day.
To everyone: apologies for not being able to keep up this week. It looks like there was still some DD madness but so many new pages to get through. So, sorry but tl;dr. I'll get around to it, promise.
Did everyone on here who had a multiple order issue get refunded by now? Is everything sorted out? Did everyone get what they wanted?
For those still on the fence and worrying about the ring size/spine width of the Simple Stories album, you can see it clearly (as well as the inserts + PP included) in the video below:
