I don’t like the dolls ether, but mostly I hate that she doesn’t label the kits with the month in the store. Holly I can figure out, but Henley, Alexis, Daisy, Denise or what have you makes no sense to me. It is fine that she names the kits with girl names, but it would be helpful if she added the month. The dolls are a super waste of a die cut though. I know others have mentioned it, but I wish she would do a kit called Felix Jack or something with similar designs but instead of pink focus on blues and greens, more stereo typical masculine colors. On topic, I have the floral album from last year and the quality is fantastic and it is nice and wide in the spine. I would be a subscriber if she did. That would be an awesome kit!

I don’t mind the dolls. They are one die cut in a set of many.
I do agree that her site could use a revamp. If she wants to organize the monthly kits by the dolls, that’s fine, but also have categories for different kit components grouped together. She had a few, such as Alphabets and “Black and White” but it would be so great to be able to filter further.
Her search is lacking as well.

I'd like a "Nick" kit for Christmas. She could still incorporate florals but have a hipster dude as the monthly doll instead. Maybe make him wear an ugly Christmas sweater and a Santa hat. That would be cute (says the millenial). Go all plaid on us, FJ! We'll embrace it.
Gah, I just realised the scrapbook world is lacking in cute guy representation on the products. Mama needs some cute guy die-cuts!

I missed DD. Don't know why I wasn't in tune. But I caught up on all the action and I see lots of stuff still available. Not a bad way to shop DD. Not too interested in what's showing, but I"m going to give it a day or two.

I for one am thankful for the dolls. I never got them and they always put me off FJ. I placed my 1st order in the FJ moving sale and I was blown away by the quality but anytime I look at her site, the "doll" theme is a huge turnoff, and goodness knows I don't need anymore supplies from any company. I'm reaching the end of my purchasing I think because I just don't have room for anymore stuff & I have most seasons, themes covered.
I'm working on a travel album to document my Europe trip, and due to the huge number of photos, its largely digital collages with a few embellies. Once KP has released her Xmas kits I will be cancelling my KP sub, then at the end of year my SC stamp kit and Ali's SBTM kit as my commitments will be complete. Leaving me with 2 more mths on Ali's story kits and then I should be sub free. In the new year I will reevaluate, but with the way I am feeling right now, I'm coming to the end of my scrappy purchasing, especially now that I've reduced using IG.

I made the suggestion (or at least I was one who made it and suggested Felix James...only because my dad tried to work his name into my sister's name and gave her the middle name Jane so they work hand in hand in my head) and several weeks later she responded that she had no intentions of doing anything like that. Essentially, she makes what she likes and that's all she plans to make.

Lately I started thinking that maybe I needed more Christmas stuff (I blame you guys! or at least all the new releases) but I just pulled out the album I bought on sale - last year's Very Merry 6x8 holiday binder with the fun die cut pages inside, and it reminded me that I already have what I need. The extra pages are a great start for the JYC prompts - the calendar page, the countdown page, the pretty cocoa picture all immediately remind me of prompts I write about/photograph every year. And I got Carpe Diem daily pages to use as a combination diary and place for memory keeping/short journaling for JYC, or just a base page to build from (like lilgeek/FYC Elise does). I have a year's worth of pages so I can use as many or as few as I need. I also got the Very Merry digitals that I can print, and I've got some of bits and pieces left over from past kits. And I made myself all those little embellishment clusters in July. So I'm definitely not in NEED of anything. Doesn't mean I won't buy a few things here and there for fun. But I'm good. I was being fooled because everything was out of sight and mind (because it's only barely SEPTEMBER! and I try to enjoy summer while it lasts, and it *is* still summer here.) Maybe I need to write myself a sticky note on my desktop that says "you have everything you need!" Useful for more than just DD

Wow. I see I am not the only one! I had no idea.
Can't wait for the album. I put release dates for FJ and KP in my planner and added them both on IG so I won't forget. Fingers crossed it's not floral. I just don't do floral in my xmas albums. And my daughter hates plaid or I would go with the Echo Park.
I caved and bought her the kids kit from 2017. I wanted to get her only the album but since it's not in the DD shop, I would have to pay shipping. The difference in price then makes the whole kit + album only 8.52 more and we both like the stuff.
I wanted to surprise her since she wants to do her own DD this year but I wanted to show her the stuff to make sure. 10 year olds... you never know.

I've found one of the AE chipboard December Daily albums from 2014 in the back of a cupboard, but it only has four rings. Will the Simple Stories page protectors fit that configuration?

Or you'll need to repunch other page protectors.
6x8 albums by all the major brands follow the universal 2-ring system and take each other's PP: Becky Higgins, American Crafts, Echo Park Paper, Carta Bella, Simple Stories, Kesi'Art, etc. These 2-ring PPs line up with the 6-ring system (you'll need to punch extra holes but the two central holes fit perfectly) that Inked brands such as Studio Calico and Ali Edwards (and FJ) use nowadays. The 4-ring system is the odd one out.

Wouldn't it be nice if all companies were consistent and didn't keep changing their configurations..... The 6 ring configuration is also used by most planner companies like filofax, etc. for A5 planners. So I think that's where it originally came from, SC & AE just jumped on board with that (possibly because they were getting into planner stuff at the time and were hoping to make everything interchangeable?). I do think the interchangeability with the planner systems is why FJ makes the 6 rings. Personally I prefer the 6 ring configuration and would like everyone to convert to that, but unfortunately I don't see uniformity in the market happening. I would still use the album even though the rings don't match. Albums are expensive and it would be a shame to let it go to waste if you actually like the pattern on the album. Especially for DD, you could make many of your pages outside of the page protectors and would have to punch them anyways so the album configuration wouldn't matter for those pages. For the ones in page protectors you can just alter the page protectors you have to fit by punching additional holes. I have also seen people cover the strip of plastic that has the holes with washi tape before repunching so you don't see all the unused holes. This could be fun for DD to use festive washi tape. ETA: Also, does the album come with page protectors? Because then you'd at least have some to start. SaveSave

Personally I prefer the 6 ring configuration and would like everyone to convert to that, but unfortunately I don't see uniformity in the market happening. Actually, the universal 2-ring configuration is due to uniformity: the page protectors also fit in the universal 3-ring system for larger albums (8.5x11, 12x12, 6x12). The 6x8 packs double up as inserts for the larger albums on the market (and put out by the same companies).
I agree about washi-taping up your PP hole strips (because it quickly starts looking messy with the new holes punched in my opinion). You don't even need to go wild: some white glitter washi tape looks fantastic for the minimalist aesthetic (which is what I'm currently doing).

I used that one for DD a couple of years ago as well. I also used other page protectors in it by using Washi Tape. I cover the whole edge with it on both sides then line up the right page protector on top, secure with mini binder clips or paper clips, and then punch new holes individually. I have tons of old OA page protectors that do their own thing and I love them so I have lots of washi edges in my albums. I am happy to post pictures of how it looks. I do use washi that matches the page. I really like the pop of color.

I did re-punch some pps one year - covering the area with washi etc. I didn't have to do many which was a good thing because I did get a bit sick of it.

But she works full-time as a graphic designer outside of the scrap industry which leaves little room for designing scrap stuff. She does PL in big chunks (once a year-ish) and has had several classes with BPC and SC (including this mini album earlier this year). Finally, she's the original 3x8 album designer. She was the first to use the size and market it with clear acrylic covers from her tiny online shop (which is currently empty).
I need to update the OP. I've got to add FJ and KP. Do we have a date and name for FJ's holiday kit?
ETA: I found paperamy's post with the FJ sneak + info!
