Wow. You guys have given me a lot to think about! I have read each of your posts over the last 2 days or so but I have plans to go back through them all because I know there were several comments that had me thinking. I'll be back later to post! I also happened to think that Tiffany (yeah..of Tiffany and Tracie) made a December album last season and it was all about her childhood Christmases/memories and I really, really liked the idea. There are a few things holding me back from doing that exclusively though. I moved this summer so it'll be our first Christmas in the new house not to mention our little guy who at 3.5 years old is sooooooooooooooooo excited for Christmas this year lol. He's been asking if it's Christmas since July! I have to figure it out. I DO know that it will NOT be a daily album. My album last year wasn't either. That's too much with busy life. For me anyway. Ren - LOVED listening to your accent!! You have me thinking of a SN@P album also. I have a couple but not in ideal holiday colors. |

Thank you so much for giving us your personal insight and in-depth view of the album! Looks really great. Good luck with the self-editing (I mean that #nosarcasm). It's a good mental and emotional exercise in trying to find what's truly meaningful and important for the long run in life. 
And oh, that accent! *le swoon* I love Aussie and Kiwi accents. *puts some shrimp on the barbie*  Aw thank you! I really hope I can edit better this year.. I love my previous years but I do think there’s more room for words My accent hehe! My accent hehe! I don’t like my voice much which used to stop me from making stories on IG, then I realised most of my followers will just hear the accent I'm not a fan of my voice or mixed-up NZ-morphed-into-Australian-with-a-weird-touch-of-American accent, so definitely not doing any voice-related stuff on IG if I can avoid it. (I should get over that because it's silly, there are so many accents and ways of speaking on IG, but --shrug--). IRL I get a little annoyed by all the people who ignore what I say because all they hear is how I say it. They're so keen to guess where I'm from they don't hear a word... sigh. Anyway, I enjoyed your video and didn't notice anything much about your voice or accent - just appreciated seeing the album. I hadn't realized you were who I was following on IG. Now I've connected the names!  |

Oh wow, you just reminded me of when my son was 3.5 and how exciting Christmas was! This was before DD, but it's one of my favorite Christmas's ever just because of how wonder-filled it was. I'm so glad I have a few good photos from that year, but if I had to do it all again ... I would have more photos and I would have written down more stories in real time, even if I didn't have a chance to scrap them for a while. I think I have 5 or 6 layouts of that Christmas and I'm so glad I have them. I'm excited for you, whatever you choose! I loved Tiffany's album and the overall idea of a Christmas memories album. I am planning to do one of those when I'm an empty-nester, too. I thought hers turned out really great. |

I am in the same one, it is pretty good and you can post anything you like. It is nice to see all the variety people come up with. I’m in there too.. I accidentally got in trouble last year though for posting a link to my free Christmas printables.. even though they were free, my website has a ‘shop’ to download them from.. which isn’t a shop because everything is free but I wanted to know how many people actually downloaded my planner.. but anyway! We had a DD group a few years back run by an Aussie lady and it was the best DD group. Ali was in the group, but it wasn’t her group.. then she trademarked the term, created her own group, left the awesome group, and most people jumped ship too. It was a shame as it had a more community feel than her ginormous group, and it didn’t matter what product you used. Ugh, that sucks. I noticed the group are emphasizing their rules very heavily, forbidding any swaps or selling except by admins, but almost all of the posts I have seen so far are about swaps! (Plus a sales post that seemed to specifically break their rules, until I noticed that it was posted by an admin. Eh.) I'm hoping that the group gets more interesting as time goes on - not just a bunch of people thanking other people for swap stuff. I guess 'tis the season for that right now... Fbk groups are mostly not my scene. There's something about the platform that seems to foster something unpleasant... or maybe it's just when groups get huge. It might just be my aversion to Fbk generally, I don't know. |

I just picked up some lovely goodies from the Hip Kit sale. The November 2017 scrapbook kit, embellishment kit and December Daily scrapbook kit are full of my favourite lines from last year (that weren't in my budget).
Along with Ali's red album from last year and this years Paislee Press mini kit plus some extra alphas from Elle's Studio, I'm well and truly sorted.

No, I use FB for one, mostly work related part of my life and blog regularly about my life, work and travels for myself, family and friends. Keeping Instagram up to date and under control might just be one step too far and many of the same people read my blog and follow me on FB anyway. But some friends and family post regularly on Insta so I make sure I keep up reading there. I love to make connections and enjoy the feeling of being in a network or community. Glad to add another link! |

Anything new on the DD horizon? Did I miss any news? I feel like everything deflated so quickly. And I'm just sitting here, having purchased naught so far. I'm growing older and aging as I wait for that darned Crate Paper Christmas line to fina-effin'-ly drop.

I hadn't even heard of Fancy Pants' Cottage Christmas (and there's nothing about it online either, how crazy)!
I keep being drawn to Steven Duncan's Santa's Workshop line. It's really pretty and he's brought back all that blue (without distressed edges this year, yay) after last year's success. Sorry for being a bit of a stan but Duncan always manages to set up storylines with his characters and the different positions he shows them in through the line. It's very smart (and beautiful) design. I am seriously going to have to consider buying some of this line for a mini album next year.
"Oh what fun, eh?" still cracks me up. That Oh Canada Christmas line is stinkin' cute.
I'm going to have to round up all the music sheet papers in this year's lines and buy them. They're a staple that's missing from my permanent stash!
So, anyway, get on it, scrapbook.com. I can't wait to place my Merry Days order!

And looking through Jodi's IG, there's nothing about it either. The only pic popping up on Google Image search is the one from the scrapbookupdate article. How weird. Very Nightmare Before Christmas-ish: the case of the ghost Christmas line!
All the companies were so much earlier on the market with their Christmas collections last year with the exception of EPP, Carta Bella, Prima and Simple Stories. It's crazy how just one year has shifted the release for AC brands by a solid three months. That's an entire season! I don't know what's going on but it's a little worrying in terms of the health of the industry, especially considering AC's monopole position.

I just feel like it all looks the same as past years. And I am bored with it. I have the red Ali album + the PP mini coming. And I *like* both of those, but not sure what else I want to use with it. I have a bunch of 6x8 papers + cards left from past years and they are all pink, turquoise, etc and I don't like them. I just want to set it all on fire and start over, lol. I won't, of course, but I feel like nothing feels 'fresh' for DD. |
